The Pregnancy

"RK!!!!" Madhu screeched at the top of her lungs.

RK went rushing into their room.

"Madhu, Madh..." he looked up to see Madhu sitting on the bed calmly.

"BIWI!"

"Yes patidevi?"

"Why'd you scream!?"

"I want ice cream. Right now!"

RK stared at his wife as she looked at a book full of babies.

He sighed.

"Now?"

Madhu glanced up at him as she placed the book down beside her.

She stood up and walked towards him.

He began to walk backwards; he knew how she over reacted during her pregnancy, and he was NOT a fan of that.

"RK..." she began to speak as RK hit the wall behind him.

Madhu raised her finger and pointed it at him as she put on her usual cute angry expression.

RK, who was staring at Madhu with a slightly frightened expression, let a smirk cross his face.

"You..."

"I?" RK continued to smirk.

"NOW MEANS NOW!" Madhu screamed into his face.

RK shut his eyes and placed his hands over his ears as a little child.

"WHEN I SAY NOW, I MEAN NOW. SO WHEN I SAY I WANT ICE CREAM NOW, I MEAN I WANT ICE CRE..."

"OKAY BIWI!" RK shot open his eyes and shook his wife to control her.

"Thank you patidev," Madhu shot RK her mischievous smile and turned around to walk back towards their bed as if nothing happened.

RK shook his head and turned to leave for her ice cream.

"Who ordered one chocolate ice cream!" RK spoke cheerfully as he completed his task of getting ice cream for his wife.

RK walked into his room and noticed Madhu didn't respond to his question.

"Chocolate ice cream?" he repeated himself as he looked at Madhu watching a show.

"BIWI!"

Madhu turned to look at him, "Where's my ice cream?"

"Right here," RK answered her as he went to sit on the couch beside her.

"No, where's MY ice cream?"

"Okay, let me just be honest here, I don't understand your pregnancy talk."

"RK...I asked FOR VANILLA!" she turned her gaze away from him and crossed her arms above her oversized belly.

RK looked down at the ice cream, which was melting, and then back up at Madhu.

She didn't ask for a specific type! RK thought to himself, and then he spoke.

"Madhu..." he spoke softly which managed to grab her attention.

RK placed the ice cream down on the table in front of them and took a hold of his wife's face as she looked into his eyes.

"You may have asked for vanilla...but our child..." RK placed his hands on Madhu's stomach and leaned his ear down against her belly, "...our child asked for chocolate..."

Madhu, who was expecting something romantic to come out of his mouth, hit him on the back.

"You're crazy!"

"Hey!" RK looked up at his wife with a playful smirk, "at least I don't get mood swings every second."

Madhu looked at RK with an angry look and then began to laugh.

"How do you deal with me?!" she spoke between her laughter.

RK, who was laughing along with her, came to a stop. He took a hold of her hand and spoke softly as he answered her question, "I love you."

Madhu's fit of laughter came to a stop as tears formed in her eyes.

Her mood switched to emotional within seconds and she wrapped her arms around RK.

They remained in a hug for a minute, when suddenly Madhu pulled away with a grunt.

"What happened?" RK asked worried as Madhu placed her hand on her stomach.

"Our baby...kicked..." she smiled through the slight pain.

RK smiled as a proud father and gently kissed Madhu's belly.

"That's my child!"

"HEY! HE HURT ME!"

RK looked up at Madhu in shock as a confused expression crossed her face.

"He...?"

Madhu realized what she said and blinked her eyes; she smiled gently and spoke to him.

"I got the reports today...we're having a mini Rishabh," she smiled as tears formed in RK's eyes.

RK pulled Madhu in for a hug and let a few tears of happiness flow from his eyes.

"I love you! I love you so much!" he spoke into her neck.

Madhu smiled as she wrapped her arms around him tightly.

"I love you more," she whispered.

RK pulled away and smirked at her, he spoke with a teasing tone to his voice,

"So does that mean you forgive me for the ice cream?"

She looked at him for a second and then remembered her craving.

"Ice...I WANT MY ICE CREAM. VANILLA. NOW. GO!"

"Yes ma'am!"

RK got up and shot Madhu a smile.

Madhu smiled to herself as she heard RK's low chuckle leaving their room.
