hey anu...again i m singing sorry song...i m sorry for this late comment...part 16 was very sweet one...u made it simple and touchy with ur words...manvi is really an angel...i expected some drama but u amazed me with this update...part 17 is also a good one...when i first read...i felt weird abt manvi's behavior...but her explanation is superb...u r not updating it more often...i know u r busy with another ss but update this one also na...i like it...thank u so much for pms and take care anu...

***Part 18***

Middle of the night, Manvi woke up when her phone rang. It was Deepti. It was a distress call. After talking to her, she couldn't sleep. She was pacing in the living room, thinking about what she should be doing next. She worked out a plan. It was 4 in the morning and she knocked on Virat's door.

Virat opened the door sleepily: "Manvi? Kya huva? Tum soyi nahi? And why do you look so scared?"

Manvi didn't waste a single second: "Virat, sorry to wake you up, I need to go to India, ASAP, I just looked at the tickets. There is a flight in the morning at 8. I think I am going to take it. Can you drop me at the airport?" she asked in a panic.

Virat suddenly woke up, alert: "Woah! Wait ..what? Slow down a second. You are going to India? Why? Why are you going to India? Bagal main nahi hai India."

Manvi: "Because Deepu just called me, they are forcefully getting her married, I have to go and stop the wedding Virat." she started getting really restless, her hands were shaking in tension.

Virat: "Manvi? What are you saying? Calm down. Here, come here, sit down." He took her inside his room and made her sit on his bed."

"Ok, first tell me who is Deepu?"

Manvi: "My cousin sister Virat."

Virat: "kaunsi cousin, kaise cousin? You said you don't have any relatives other than that bas&*%$ mama"

Manvi: "usiki beti hai Deepu, she needs me, they are getting her married to a monster. I need to go and stop it Virat."

Virat: "What? You are kidding right????? You are not going anywhere near him."

Manvi got up, she didn't have time to deal with Virat right now. "Virat, I need to go. I know the guy. She will die if they get her married to that ass. Please, you have to trust me on this. Can you please drop me at the airport. Or else I am taking a cab." She threatened and started to walk out.

Virat was pacing now: "Manvi, What is all this suddenly? I cannot let you go there. Please understand. I don't know anything about this marriage business but let's calm down a bit and think about alternate plans. If the marriage is against her wish, then we can call the police. Bhai can co-ordinate things there. You don't have to go."

Manvi: "No Virat. They are very powerful. None of that would work."

Virat: "Ok. Kuch bhi ho. I can't let you go Manvi!"

Manvi, very frustrated "Virat, don't act like a kid. I have to go."

Virat: "I am acting like a kid??? You want to go to India, by yourself and then go to your shakuni mama's house, whom you yourself have described as powerful and rescue this girl from under his nose? Are you crazy? Pehli baat, you don't know your way around there, and let me remind you what happened the last time, you wandered alone'"

Manvi: "Viraaat! I don't have time for this, Viren jiju will pick me up. You call him and inform him my flight details."

Virat's head was spinning. There was no way he was going to let her go alone. If he cannot stop her, he will go with her. "Fine then, I am coming with you." He started packing hurriedly.

Manvi: "Viraaat, you have stuff going on here, you have to go back to classes, you have missed so much already. Nahi, nahi.." she said in a trance. Too many things were happening around her and she was not able to control anything.

Virat: "Nothing is important than your safety Manvi." he replied while packing.

Manvi: Virat, sunno meri baat, you are complicating things. What will your family say? They don't know anything about us. Why would you go in the middle of the semester? With me? Don't do this baby'" she pleaded him.

Virat: "Manvi, I can't listen to you right now. You are not thinking straight. If you are going, I am going with you. That's decided."

Manvi tried her best to stop him but he wouldn't listen to her. Finally giving up, she woke up Jeevika, who was equally shocked, but since they were going together, she felt a bit relaxed. They boarded the earliest available flight to India.

Manvi was in a very bad shape. She had to be strong but the thought of going in front of those people made her very very nervous. Virat put his hand on her trembling hands.

Manvi: "You shouldn't have come Virat, this is not going to end well." She said worried.

Virat: "Shhh! Stop worrying about me, tell me about this Deepu. What is happening? Detail main batao."

"Kya batao? You have seen Mamu right, he is a very cunning man Virat. He seems like a very respectable man on the outside; he talks very sweetly and can convince anyone with his charm. But, after I was sent to stay with him, he showed me his real nature. He started to abuse me in the worst possible way. I was locked up in his basement for days. He said he would only release me if I did everything he asked me to, without any resistance. His wife knew everything but never said a word. Deepu, his daughter is my age, she used to sneak in and we used to share our sad stories. To my horror, she told me that she was being tortured by her own father, since a very long time. We used to forget our misery and try to play and talk with each other. She was the only reason I could survive that hell Virat." tears came streaming down her face, thinking about those ghastly experiences.

He looked away and shut his eyes tightly. He had to do something. He decided to give that evil mama a taste of his own medicine. He cannot get away doing these things to little girls like her.

Virat pulled her closer, his hand over her shoulders. "Calm down honey. Its ok, you don't have to tell me anything right now. Relax!" he said stroking her shoulder.

Manvi continued "No Virat, you need to know what you are getting into. Before Madan chachu took me away from that place, mamu came and told me that he was letting me go and if I ever told about what happened in that house to anybody else, he would kill Deepu. I was so scared of him then; I kept my mouth shut. However, I could not forget about her. I tried to tell about Deepu to Madan chachu a lot of times but always held back thinking about his threat.

Deepu called me some two years later saying that she was admitted to a boarding school in a different city by her grandparents. I was very happy for her. At last, she atleast temporarily got away from her house. We kept in touch, she was the only one who knew my past. She felt much better in boarding school. We telephoned each other and shared everything with each other.

After school, she fell in love with this guy, Nikki, in college, about 3 years ago. She was very happy for a few months. Then he started treating her badly. When she told me how he treated her, I constantly told her that he is not the right guy. But she was so madly in love that she used to convince herself and make excuses for him. She defended his every action, however ruthless it was. I didn't like him from the beginning and my worst fears came true when he refused to marry her after all this time.

She had completely trusted him. Leave physical attachment, she became so emotionally damaged that she couldn't talk with anyone for months. He had killed her self confidence. He told her that she wasn't pretty, she was weak and damaged and so much other crap that she completely fell apart. After her college, her parents wanted her to come back home. It's like she went back into the fire from the frying pan.

When we went for Di's marriage, I tried to talk with her on the phone. She was very disturbed and she didn't talk much. She said she will call me later. It's partly my fault, I should not have listened to her. I should have gone to her house and dragged her out of her shell. But, I was scared, I couldn't face my own demons, I told myself that she will be fine after some time and she will call me back when she is ready. After all we have went through, I thought a little bit of time is all that was required to heal. I knew that after a few days, she will be fine.

But now, last night, she called me saying that her father had come to know of her affair with Nikki and had been torturing her about it. He had fixed up her marriage with Prakash. Prakash is my mami's brother, he is evil incarnated. He is much much worse than my mamu. Deepu will not be able to take it Virat. She said she was going to kill herself. I need to get her out of there." She held Virat's hand tightly for support and looked into his eyes helplessly.

"Please stop crying Manvi, we will get her out of there. No more hiding anything from me ok? Why couldn't you tell me about Deepu in India. Stop being so secretive Manvi, atleast with me." he explained calmly and kissed her forehead and took a deep breath.
