The first look of the film has created a spark of controversy on various social networking sites. While the posters left many fans excited and feeling good about the new collaboration, others were offended by the deliberate South Indian touch.

Balaji Mohan, a Tamil director and filmmaker tweeted to film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh and said that he finds the posters "distastefully stereotypic and offensive." He followed it up bysaying, "…it represents Chennai & South India the wrong way to the huge international audience SRK has. And it's not even funny."

SRC

How many of you agree with Balaji Mohan's POV?

Im a southie and didnt find anything offensive in the posters.

People just turn every small thing into a controversy when it comes to him. What can he do now?😆

I've seen many South Indian journalists and critics trashing CE posters on Twitter.

It's a fact South Indians, sardars are shown really distastefully in Bollywood films. Son of Sardar was shameful!

But it is a Rohit Shetty film and do not expect anything appropriate from him!
