Chapter 6
She held her breath while opening the door. She had aimlessly walked into the washroom that she forgot to have any sort of clothing with her. She covered herself with the quilt, and opened the door. Breathing hard. She didn't know what she was expecting. To see him⦠or to be in her room alone. She could feel tears rolling down the cheeks ā to find the room empty.
She walked slowly up to the bed and sat on the edge, trying to think rationally. Wasn't it what she expected from the time they started doing it? Wasn't she prepared to see an empty room when she opened her eyes? Yet she hoped⦠hoped for a better day. Hoped for having few more happy moments in her life ā with him.
Even if I wish, I can't leave you, Khushi. It's too late to even think about that.
Did he leave her? Didn't she, just a while ago, decided to have as much time she could get with him as possible? And now, after accepting everything that would come in her way, she was here, crying, for him. She was confused. Hell confused. There are few things that she was sure about, and needed her attention.
She had nothing to do with NK or her marriage. She would never consider that, not anymore.
She had to speak to him in a proper way and then apply for a mutual divorce. If NK didn't agree with her, the divorce would be in a very slow pace and she didn't want herself in this knot even for a second.
She was not going to think about her family ā a family which never trusted her.
She would not give a damn about what society talked about her.
And the last one, she wasn't regretting whatever happened with Arnav last night.
When Arnav left her, she would live in his memories but would not want to mourn for her lose. She was ready to pick handful of his memories.
Why should she be the object for everything that happened in her family? Why couldn't she live her life normally? What was wrong if she slept with a man? Wasn't NK doing the same thing? Leaving his wife and sleeping with Lavanya?
But they loved each otherā¦!
She shut her eyes to block those words that whispered by her mind. She couldn't deny that. They love each other and the relation in which she was with Arnav, was not love. They had no love between them. May be more than lust⦠but not love⦠not yet. And Khushi didn't want to even dare think about them in that direction. She could bear the loss of the man with whom she slept ā numerous times in future, may be ā but not the loss of the man she loved.
She wanted to enjoy her life, and she would.
Her head turned in the direction when she heard the crack of the door, and saw him coming into the room, lazily, a towel wrapped around his waist and another on his shoulders, while he was drying his hair.
He didn't leave her.
He stopped in his tracks as soon as he saw her and she smiled. She watched him walk towards her in daze. She knew what his eyes meant. She knew what he wanted and she was ready to give what his eyes were asking. He sat beside her, threw the towel on the floor while his hand held hers, fingers interlinking, as his lips met hers.
Never in her life had she felt alive. His touch, his kiss, his stare⦠even his presence made her believe that she was a woman, after all. He had magic in him that made her want him more. She remembered everything that happened between them last night. They were not in their senses. Desire empowered their thoughts. All they cared about was their own passion that had been burning in them from the time they saw each other. It held want. It held need. It was pure sex. Now, she wanted to enjoy this new sensation he was creating within her. She pulled him more to herself, giving him access to her. He explored her, sucked her, nibbled her, and tasted her every corner.
His fingers roamed her back, lightly, feather touch, making her moan his name, sending her to heaven. Yesā¦! That was the word to describe her feeling. Heavenā¦! Finally. She arched her neck, as he sucked water droplets that fell from his hair on her neck, shoulders, along with drops from her hair. His hair was silky, almost jelly. She remembered once playing with rain drops that had been falling from a tree from her window. Soft. She was never able to catch a single drop. His hair. Rain. He stopped, his fingers on her sensitive part. Lowering. Yet again. Moving slowing toward her. His breath fanning her. He pulled the quilt down, revealing her beauty. His eyes drank her, moving up and down, up and then down, taking in her every inch. She closed her eyes, anticipating for him to do something. Anything. But nothing of that sort came. His fingers travelled down, to her thigh, and rubbed it, and she understood, just like that, he was trying to massage her, providing some sort of heat over there ā easing her pain. She smiled, a heartfelt smile. He cared for her. He truly cared for her. he pressed his lips on her forehead, and lingered there for a while, his hand supported her by her waist, and the other continued to ease her pain.
He left her, supported his back to the bead head post and pulled her into his arms, covering them with the quilt. His arms around her in a protective way ā possessive way. She smiled. He smiled.
"Let's take it slow, Khushi"he whispered, kissing her earlobe, "let's give you some time to adjust this⦠feeling."
She nodded, burying herself in his arms, and closed her eyes, taking in this moment ā capturing this forever.
