"It's been 2 whole weeks now", Geet whined. "Maan has not yet come to school; I think it's because of our conversations" she cried desperately.

"Relax..." Jessie said "it's not like he did an accident or what..." Jessie calmed Geet down who was pacing the whole library.

Geet's face went paler. "Accident..." she muttered. "He admitted that he thought a lot about me...what if..." she stopped dead in her tracks.

She fidgeted with her hair and her dress. Then she saw Vicky going to do Xerox copies.

"Vicky...Vicky..." she shouted a bit slowly and ran to him.

"Why are you addressing to that brat" Jessie protested.

Geet ignored her. The guilt of refusing to Maan had been eating her up ever since he stopped coming to college for since the first 4 days.

Vicky stopped in his tracks and thought "finally...she came to ask...Maan would be happy to hear..."

"Vicky" she said catching her breathe. "Maan...did he came to...is he...alright...?" she asked breathlessly.

"Wow...I wonder why the library didn't collapse to have such jocks around" Jessie muttered under her breathe but both Geet and Vicky ignored her.

"Err..." Vicky said as he saw Geet was damn impatient for answer and was tapping her foot waiting.

"What...talk, nah!" Geet urged. Jessie was amused to see such an irritated Geet.

"He's sick, man...!" Vicky said scratching his head. "His Dadi got a flu called'called XYZ, I dunno the name, which turned out to be a dangerous illness, then his little sister got that; while nursing for her; he got ill too..."

Geet looked terrified. "He was hospitalized now he's back home" Vicky said turning back his attention to his Xerox.

"He's okay now...?" Geet asked.

"Well...if that satisfies you...yes, he's" Vicky said and went away.

"Oh no..." Geet mumbled.

"The poor thing" Geet whined for the 100^th of time. "Why don't you pay him a visit than whining and eating my head" Jessie suggested. Geet grinned and said "yes" but then her smile faded and said "what will his family said?"

"You just say you're a friend and you're bringing some notes, plus I'm damn sure your notes will be million times better than Brute Number 2" Jessie giggled.

"His name is Vicky" Geet corrected and Jessie scowled. Geet chuckled and said "why are you on his case, huh? Because he tried to kiss you when you were in kindergarten" Geet laughed.

Jessie went red with anger, she balled her fists. "The nerve of that man" she growled.

Geet took a deep breath. "This mansion looks even bigger than last time I came" Geet said. She blushed. "I like you Maan" she thought. "But...I don't know if you were joking with me that day..."

She entered the mansion and a servant came. "You are lost?" she asked.

"I'm Maan's friend, I came for notes; Vicky won't come today" Geet lied. She felt bad; but she needed to talk to him.

"How is Maan? Dadi and Anvesha?" Geet asked. "Oh...they are all very bad, especially the baby" the servant said. "Right now, Maan is still sleeping, Dadi has awake but very weak, and baby is crying, she wants to go to the park" the servant sighed.

"Well, I'll look after them; you just do your normal routine like washing or cleaning..."

"Okay...we all are tired here since two weeks" the servant sighed.

The servant gave a weak smile and pointed upstairs "Maan's room is next there" she said.

"Thank You" Geet said.

Geet felt her heart beating fast as she climbed the stairs. She peered in Maan's room. She looked at his room in shocked. "What a mess'!" she thought.

Geet could not stand any mess. She hated that.

Geet entered the room and felt a bad odor. "I bet he doesn't take a shower". She pinched her nose. "Yuck". 😆

Geet tiptoed and saw Maan's clothes scattered everywhere. His books, his videogames, his cameras and other gadgets were on the floor.

There were also medicines on the floor. She shivered and saw his exhausted face. She blushed when she saw his boxers.

She grabbed his dirty clothes and sent it for washing with the servants. She tidied his room and she smiled. She took the notes that she had brought and placed it on the table. She couldn't help grinning when she saw Anvesha's photo hanged on the wall. While cleaning his table, she found her photo and she blushed. She gazed back at a sleeping Maan and went away.

She knocked at Dadi's bedroom.

"Enter" Dadimaa coughed. Dadimaa looked perplexed seeing her. Soon Dadi started to like Geet. "You're Maan's friend?" Dadi asked. "You can say that" Geet answered checking her temperature.

Geet peered in Avesha's room. It was the cutest and nicest room in the whole mansion. "It's millionth of time than Maan's" she thought and looked at the clock. "Can't believe he's still sleeping..." Geet thought.

"Annie?" Geet asked. Anvesha, who was sitting sadly and miffed with everyone.

"Geet?" Annie said and hugged her. "Will you play with me?" Annie asked innocently. "That depends" Geet chuckled and caressed her cheeks. "Let's check your temperature first" Geet said. After some moments "you're fine but still some meds are on" Geet said while Annie gave her a puppy face.

"Is Bro alright?" Annie asked staring at Geet. "I don't know" she whispered. "I want to eat ice-cream..." Annie said. "No...you can't, you are not perfectly well..."

Annie made a puppy face.

"If you behave well; then we're going to the central park" Geet said smiling. Annie yelled in excitement.

"Now...did you have a bath?" Geet asked and Annie shook her head innocently.

"Come on..."

Geet peeped in Maan's room. "He's a really Kumkaran" she thought warily. "How can he sleep that much".

She stood at the doorstep and shouted "Maan...wake up" at least 20 times when he mumbled snuggling his pillow "wow...I even hear Geet's voice in my dreams" and fell asleep.

Geet flushed crimson red.

"Maan...the school has been vandalized" Geet said trying to wake him up.

"Hmmm" he retorted asleep.

"Geet is very sick" Geet said feeling her heart beating faster.

"Hmmm" Maan retorted snuggling his pillow to his chest. Geet looked very crushed at that. "I thought you cared for me" she thought, hurt. 😳

In a Nanosecond; Maan jerked throwing his duvet off the bead and said or 'scream' aloud "what'?"

Geet blushed as she smiled shyly and saw Maan's shocked; embarrassed; furious; confused and red face. Seeing all those expressions together Geet burst laughing.

"Geet? What are you doing here?" Maan said jumping out of his bed and heading to his washroom.

"I came to check on you..." Geet laughed and then realized what she said and blushed. Maan grinned.

"Now get dressed; we're going to the park" she said. "No" he whined. Geet smiled seeing Maan whining.

"I'm going for a shower; you..." Maan said and Geet quickly felt her cheeks burning red. 😆

Geet went out quickly slamming the door and leaned against it. She felt her heart thumping. 😆

She was going redder every passing second. She went down going to check for Anvesha telling her to get ready.

Maan staggered downstairs and saw Annie jumping in excitement.

"We're going to the park! Yay!" she exclaimed running in rounds around Maan.

"Who said so?" he retorted annoyed and sneezed.

"I said" Geet came from the kitchen carrying a small lunch basket with her. Maan scowled and said "I'm sick".

"Yes, I know that" Geet said pushing Annie to the door and turning to talk to Maan.

"But you need some sun" Geet added ordering. "But I ''' Maan protested and Geet scowled cutely and said "stop behaving like an oldie and come on" she snapped.

Maan grinned and said "she's so lovely when she boss".

"I'm damn tired" Maan whined. "Of course you'll be, who was the one playing Returns Of the Gun-man on his i-pad" Annie giggled and glanced at Maan while talking.

"It's not right to report other's things, it's called privacy" Maan groaned glaring at Annie.

"Whatever you call that, no wonder you slept like a devil" she thundered "and mister was ill" she added sarcastically. He couldn't help hiding a grin; she looked even cuter when she was angry.

"I could give you a perfect 10 for your expressions!" he thought.

Annie went on playing in the park on the swings.

"Why have you come here?" Maan asked. His voice was serious. Geet tried to avoid talking about that as she knew she did not have any proper explanations for that.

"Your sister needed some fresh air..." Geet said looking away. He held her hand and jerked her to face him. "I'm serious" he said solemnly. "You hardly talk to me at school" he pointed out. "Tell me" he pressed.

"I'"

She had no answers; none, his questions seemed right to be asked but she had no answers and did not have the intention to tell him the real deal.

"Tell me Geet, you have too" he urged shaking her. "Tell me, huh".

"I came for notes" she lied. She looked at him; approvingly; and happy with the nice explanations; she fibbed. He looked hurt; gazing into her eyes; he diverted his attention on his sister.

"I thought you came for..." he muttered and stopped.

They stayed silent.

"The notes on your table" she said. "Hmm" he mumbled wishing the conversation was over.

"Where is Vicky? He was supposed to come...?"

Geet looked terrified. "He'his mother is ill" she stammered and gave him a sad look. Maan did not reply.

"How can you go when you knocked me over? I could have been killed" Jessie said dramatically.

"Man, I even brought you to the hospital for a checkup and the doc said you're okay!" Vicky protested.

Jessie scowled and thought "what will I have to do for you Geet!"

"So you're Bhai's wife?" Annie asked innocently. "You will come again". Maan looked startled at Annie and Geet choked her drink and coughed.

"We're not married, Annie" Maan explained.

"Oh...so you are his fiance then" Annie said.

"No" Geet mumbled. She then realized that Dadimaa and Maan had their eyes fixed on her. She blushed gazing in Maan's eyes.

Maan smirked grinning.

"I've got to go now" Geet said hugging Dadimaa and Annie. Maan stood behind watching them. "Before Vicky lands here" she added thoughtfully. Geet made an eye contact with him enough long for Dadi to notice and beamed.

"Thank you for coming and looking after us..." Dadi gushed. "I wonder why my stupid grandson has not yet asked your hand" she said dramatically.

"wow'" Maan thought "Gran can be a drama queen sometimes".

Geet blushed and looked shyly at Maan. Maan was shocked to see her cheeks going red and scratched his head grinning.

"I'll company you to the door" Maan said. "I am still insisting of telling Maan to drive you home" Dadi said.

"No" Geet said hastily. "No" she added a bit more softly this time. "I'll manage, he's sick..." she replied looking on the ground.

"I still can" Maan offered but Geet plainly refused. She knew his questions would be like a nuclear bomb so it was better to avoid them.

They walked to the main road for a taxi.

"You can be a good father...you look after your sister like one" Geet said as they walked.

Maan looked at her and said huskily "is this an offer?"

Geet opened her mouth shocked and flushed crimson red at the same time. Just then a cab arrived and Geet said watching a grinning Maan.

"Geet...did you know that you were taking care of Maan and his family like his wife or his fiance? Even his fiance won't do that much!?" Jessie exclaimed.

Geet blushed red and said "I don't know".

Jessie saw the blush and said "Geet, you have feelings for Maan, right!"

"No" she shouted and the clapped her hands over her mouth. "You do...don't lie!" Jessie said sipping her coffee.

Geet stared away at the window pane watching the rain smashing the ground with its force.

"Maybe you're right'I've have feelings for him, maybe..."

Jessie grinned. "That's what I wanted to hear as that's what I saw in your eyes".

"Anyway tell me how you manage to keep Vicky away for 3 hours" Geet giggled. "I managed to come in front of his car and managed to get him go away that he hurt me" Jessie laughed. "He bought it that duh-brain...and I screamed on the street for 1 hour and the next hour we went to the hospital and then I told him to buy me chocolates on the way leaving me home'"

Geet giggled and sighed "I wish I could tell Maan..." Jessie chuckled and smiled.

Geet looked away and had the shock of her life. "M-M-M'!?" she stammered.

Jessie saw that Geet was staring as if she saw a ghost and then turned away and coughed. Maan was standing there with his arm folded to his chest; smirking at Geet.
