As the birds chirped, flying across the yellow crimson sky announcing the arrival of a new day, the clock stroke seven and the Xi'an campus started filing in with students going from one end of the ground to another; buzzing the buildings of the University as a sign that the school was back in session.
Yash skidded across the common grounds, between the dormitories towards Raj and Jayraj, who as usual were having their brotherly fight.
"Woo guys, fight already? The day has not even started yet." Yash asked stopping right in front of them.
Raj being the sincere among the duo replied, "We are not fighting, just arguing. There is a difference. And, the day has already started, if you notice the sun is nearly half way up."
Jayraj sighed, "Bro, be cool, it's only five past seven in the morning."
"Exactly," Yash seconded.
Just then Sunaina and Nikita made their way out of the girl's dorms diverting all three guys' attention from their useless topic. Looking at the books in their hands and a purse on each of their shoulder the boys looked down at their own free hands.
Jayraj spoke out loud, "Why do they have to remind us that break is over."
Yash slapped on his back, "Because, as much pretty and worth falling over they are, they still care about their education unlike some of us."
Raj asked, "Are you saying, you are not here for studies."
"Who said that? Graphic designing does not need you to become nerds," Yash winked at Raj.
"I am not a nerd!" Raj argued.
"Yes you are," Sunayna said upon reaching them.
Raj looked at her and made a face not able to say anything back.

Dhruv looked throughout the entire atrium to find none of his friends. He finally pulled his cell out and called Yash.
"Dude, where are you?"
Yash pulled the cell away from his ear, paused to look at it as it was some alien piece, then placing it back over his ear he said, "What, no hello no good morning?"
Dhruv slowed down and in a much lower volume he replied, "Sorry, Hi How are you? Now if the formality is over, where are you?"
Yash shook his head as if Dhruv was in front of him, "Hi, I am good, and yes the formality is over, so take a chill pill and I am on my way towards the locker room," he said.
"Cool, see you there then," saying so Dhruv hung up the call and started on his way towards the lockers.

AT and Ishika pulled themselves out of Antara's warm cozy car in to the chilly January morning. Locking the car up, Antara and Ishika walked out of the Student parking lot arm in arm, as if walking down a church aisle. Sharing past memories, laughing at their childhood stupid-ness not caring of the world watching them, carefree as they always are when together, they made their way into the locker room.
All of their friends turned towards them, pausing from whatever they were doing eager to know what was so funny that the girls were laughing at. Seeing all the eyes glued on them, both pulled their arm way and walked towards their respective lockers; which was in the same row just, two lockers gap.
Dhruv and Yash looked at each, as Antara and Ishika's arm link flashed in their mind. Obviously same thoughts going on, shaking their head negatively both mumbled, "No they can't be."
Dhruv and Yash burst out laughing the next second, not believing the thought that just passed through their precious brain.
Nikita asked, "Now, what are you two laughing at? Is their like an inside joke going on around here that I am unaware off?"
Sunayna said, "If it is, than you are not the only one who is clueless."
Yash said pulling out his books, "No nothing." Dhruv closed his locker; two boys looked at each and nodded. "Yup nothing," Dhruv confirmed.
Sunayna and Nikita shrugged their shoulders and made their way out of the lockers area.
Antara and Ishika stole a glance before Ishika walked out behind the two girls. A minute later Antara closed her locker and announced, "Well, I nearly forgot I was supposed to be Ishika's guide till she settles down," she called after Ishika, "Ishika wait," looking around to make sure the rest of the boys bought her statement she hurried away.

"OMG, I can't believe Dhruv and Yash would even think that," Antara said once she caught up with Ishika.
Ishika asked, "You can't believe, I am not believing how can you be sure that's why they..um"
Antara replied, "Sweety, I know them way before you. While Dhruv is my best friend, Yash is '" she trailed off hesitating to find a word.
"Boyfriend?" Ishika put out
Antara looked at her friend, "No!"
Ishika giggled, "Alright, then he is in process of becoming one."
Antara once again gave her a stern look.
"What?" Ishika said, "You might know the boys, but I know you and I am not a kid that I can't tell of what's going on between you and Yash. Clearly you like that guy, and no doubt he likes you too. So, what is the delay?"
Antara sighed, of course it's not been two days since her friend has seen them around each other, but still she can see and hear between the gaps. No wonder Ishika is what you call her 'best' friend. "It's not that easy as it seems."
Ishika stopped walking, "Why is it not easy?"
"Well, he is different than me."
Ishika sighed, "If you mean different as in he is rich and you are not then, AT I can't believe it is you who is holding back her feelings due to the money status. Feelings come from heart, and no heart is rich or poor. They are the matter of good and evil, and as far as I see Yash is just a perfect guy for you. I might not know him, but seeing his friends and personality I can say, he loves you and not your bank status."
Antara linked her arm into Ishika's yet again and they both started walking away. "I missed you," was all Antara said.

Dhruv and Yash came out from behind the pillar, where they were standing and listening to the girl's conversation. Of course they had not bought Antara's statement in the locker room, besides they had their own thoughts that needed a rain check.
Dhruv looked at Yash who was staring at Antara's fading figure as the last part of the conversation replayed in back of his mind. "You better get her, before she loses herself to the world."
Yash confessed, "And all along I thought that something was wrong in me that... she didn't acknowledge me."
Dhruv smiled at his buddy, "Dude, nothing can be wrong in you! How can you think that? 'Cause if it was that way then you wouldn't be my pal."
Yash smiled, "True that."
Both turned around and made their way towards their first class of the day, Humanities.
