Without any second, guided by his heart, Arnav ran towards the only place where Khushi could be and hoped that he would find her in a better condition than what NK had informed him. He did not even have time to think about what could have been the reason behind such a sudden change in behaviour with Khushi who was in fact thoroughly enjoying the party. As soon as he reached destination, he heaved a sigh of relief at the sight of Khushi's figure sitting down on the grass bordering the lake.

Slowly approaching Khushi on the tip of toes to make sure not to frighten her, Arnav heard her sob, while she had her hands covering her face which was buried in her knees. It was not the first time he had seen her cry but this time he felt something very different … he sensed immense pain in each and every sob he was hearing. Without even thinking, he uttered Khushi's name to which Khushi suddenly turned back, looking shocked as her tears had caused her eyes to take a puffy appearance.

Arnav took quick steps towards her, but soon a wave of confusion gripped over him, still unaware of what was going on in Khushi's mind when she pointed her finger towards him, warning him to stay far from her and not to even try coming closer to her. Trying to stay true to his desire of approaching Khushi to calm her down, Arnav ignored her words and walked towards her, asking her why she was shedding tears.

"I said go away from here. Leave me alone. I don't want to see you again in my life." Khushi stood up from where she was sitting and angrily blasted.

"Khushi, what happened? Why are you so angry at me?" Arnav asked.

"Stay away from me. If you come near to me, then … then I will jump in this lake" Khushi threatened.

"Okay fine, I will stay here itself. You see there is quite a long gap between the two of us, but for God's sake, please tell me what the matter is. You are worrying me" Arnav stated, curious to know the reason for Khushi's rude behaviour.

"Oh please! No need for you to show me your bogus concern for me. All these days I have already been victim of your treacherous nature. How could you do that to me? You played with my feelings thinking that Okay, Khushi is just a nave girl!" Khushi furiously revealed, tears continuing to flow down her cheeks.

"What did I do Khushi?" Arnav asked, greatly affected by Khushi's words that gave him so much pain "I can never even think of hurting you"

"I don't deserve happiness" Khushi let out, refusing to listen any of Arnav's justifications, before adding with a heavy heart "It's actually all my fault. Why would a rich guy like you be interested in someone like me who is so simple, and totally opposite to those modern and rich girls? I am so dumb! All this time I've been thinking that you … But no! Thankfully the whole truth came out today in front of my eyes and the veil has been lifted. Anyway, bye Mr Arnav Singh Raizada. I wish you and Lavanya a happy life ahead. You should be happy that from now on, you will never see me again"

Arnav had let Khushi pour out whatever was weighing on her heart in order to get to the root of her worries and he could not stop himself from being relieved upon knowing she just had a huge misunderstand that he would clear as rapidly as possible. He tried not to smirk at the sight of a jealous Khushi, a side of her that he had never seen and was sure never to forget.

"Do you have anything to add? Because for the last five minutes you have been talking non-stop and I have been listening to utter nonsense. You rightly earned the name of 'Miss Chatterbox'. How much you talk!" Arnav unleashed with a hint of teasing in his voice.

"You…" Khushi was about to say when Arnav cut her short.

"Do not even dare say anything else!" Arnav told, putting his finger on his lips as a sign that she should keep silent. "Listen to me carefully Khushi. Lavanya is no longer part of my life…she actually never was and I realised this many days before. And I already told her about the same"

"Lies! Lies! Lies! What's the point of lying now? Some minutes ago you were telling her… you were telling her that you loved her. I heard you pronounce the three magical words" Khushi retorted.

"What? No, I mean yes. Gosh this is so confusing. What I mean is that I said I love you, but those three words were not intended for Lavanya. Can you understand now?" Arnav raised his eyebrows, hoping that Khushi would get the hint.

"Hey Devi Maiyya! So there is someone else to whom you were saying that?" a shocked Khushi asked, with one hand on the hip and the other on the head.

"You are completely mad, Khushi" Arnav uttered and pulled Khushi towards him by holding her lower back. "Yes you are right! There's someone else I was practising to say this. Someone who has given a new dimension to my whole colourless life. Ever since she has come to my life, she has brought in rays of sunshine and now I just can no longer live without her. She is the best ever thing that has happened to me"

Overwhelmed by increasing heights of jealousy, Khushi tried to break free from Arnav's grip but to no avail. She could no longer bear hear Arnav say such words regarding a girl and she bit her lips in an attempt to keep her calm. As far as Arnav was concerned, he felt amused by Khushi's reaction but he decided to put an end to the teasing when he noticed Khushi cringing. As she placed her hands on her ears to stop listening to Arnav, he gently removed them.

"And she also has the most beautiful family ever – the best mother and one cute little nephew who is her whole life. But I have to admit that she is somewhat crazy. Do you know her special quality? It's that she knows how to make potential grooms reject her, but it will be different with me, at least I hope so" Arnav smilingly said.

By now, Khushi had got the message and she cursed herself for having initially wrongly interpreted Arnav's intention. A large smile installed itself on her face which despite the mess created by the tears was looking absolutely radiant with happiness. She felt a huge burden being relieved off her shoulders as she understood that Arnav was talking about her and had that sudden feeling of shouting at the top of her voice that her love was triumphant.

"The one thing I like the most about her is her smile. When she smiles, then the whole world feels like smiling" Arnav added, as Khushi placed her hand on his as he was wiping away all those droplets on her face.

In that peaceful moment, Khushi was trying to move and suddenly tripped over a stone causing her to immediately lose balance. With no time to save herself from falling, she fell in the lake, pulling Arnav alongside since his right hand was surrounding her lower back. And both splashed in the water which luckily was shallow and some seconds later, they emerged from within the lake. Both looked at each other and soon burst into a big laughter after realising what had happened.

Arnav cupped Khushi's face and said "How could you even think like this about me? I know I have done a big mistake hiding the truth that Lavanya was no longer important to my eyes but at the same time I was not sure of your feelings towards me. And the recent days have only brought us closer that I have to admit that you are the one meant for me Khushi. You are the only one who had to come into my life … I love you"

"I love you too Arnav. Always been and always will. It's not only me who is meant for you but also you who are meant for me." Khushi told as she threw herself into Arnav's arms, "I love you so much. I was so scared thinking that I had lost you. I am sorry"

"Shhh, it's okay Khushi. I promise I will never let these tears bother your eyes anymore. They are too precious to be wasted. From now on, we will always be together. Forever." Arnav added.

They sealed this promise of always being together with Khushi leaving a peck on Arnav's forehead, then on the right cheek and on the left one as well. A childish Arnav made a negative head movement sign showing that he was not satisfied with those tokens of love, to which Khushi patted him on the cheek already knowing what he was waiting for. She slowly approached her face towards his until their lips were only a mere distance apart and they crashed against each other passionately, marking the beginning of their journey together as two lovers.

And Arnav lifted Khushi back to the car and they headed towards Gupta House thinking of how to publicly announce their love to Garima, unaware that destiny had already reserved them a good surprise.
