Okay people, I've wasted enough time with mt bakwas, so now I'll directly get to the update. So, here's the next part of the OS
They both smiled at each other, rejoicing how this smile reached their eyes, their hearts. Just then, the nurse entered with Pankhuri's medicines, and behind her came Avantika. Seeing her both were reminded of the shart and so, poor Adi literally jumped out of his seat and stood back against the wall. Both looked at Avantika guiltyly.
After the nurse adjusted the drips and needles and left, Adi tried to explain,"Mom vo-"
"Maine kuch pucha?"
"Nahi"
"Right. Now listen to me. Doctors said Pankhuri ki halat mein kafi sudhar hai aur hum kal use ghar le ja sakte hai. Adi, you have 12 hours. Apna samaan pack karke ghar pohochne ke liye. Papa ko bhi chot lagi hai to Shanky unka dhyaan rakhenge. So you'll be responsible for taking care of Pankhuri. Uski medicines, food, rest, everything. Agar use kuch chahiye to you have to take care of it. Office se tumhe koi calls nahi aayenge unless it's urgent. Which reminds me - tumhara phone kaha hai?"
"Mom vo.." he recalled dropping the phone at the court. "Court! Vo aapne na jab call karke bataya tha ke-" he stopped and looked at Pankhuri with fear vivid in his eyes. He looked down and composed himself. "Vo mom I dropped it at the court. I'll get it later on.."
Her tone softened a bit. "Nahi. Main kisi aur ko bol dungi laane ke liye. You stay here for now aur baad mein packing kar lena. Kuch bhoolkar mat aana!"
"Ji mom."
"One person is allowed to stay." She said, looking at Adi. "Hum ghar jaa rahe hai. Papa needs rest. Raat ko main ya Preeti aa jaayenge. Tum tab jaakar packing bhi kar lena aur rest bhi." She looked at Pankhuri and smiled a little, "Take care"
Pankhuri smiled back and nodded.
Just when Avantika was leaving, her sari got caught in the stool and she was about to fall when-
"MOM!" called Pankhuri's panicked voice as Adi's hand caught her.
Both Avantika and Adi looked at her in surprise. Pankhuri bit her tongue.
"Aap-aap theek to hai na?" She managed to ask.
"Mom, are you alright?" Adi asked after got over his surprise and happiness.
"I'm fine. Thanks." She said, looking at both of them.
Once she left, Adi looked at Pankhuri with a dazzling smile that was mirrored on her face.
Adi: "Tumne mom ko mom bulaya"
Pankhudi: "Unhone mana bhi nahi kiya!"
And Adi hugged Pankhuri in his excitement. She winced as the needles hurt her.
"Oops! Sorry sorry sorry! I'm so sorry!"
"Koi baat nahi Adi."
"Haan, tujhe kab koi baat serious lagti hai? Yahaan meri jaan nikal gayi thi aur tu? 'Adi main theek hoon Adi'" he mimicked her.
She smiled.
"Haan haan, tujhe to hasi hi aayegi na? Meri jaan sach mein nikal jaati to?!"
"Adi!" She put her hand on his mouth even when it hurt.

Then Adi apologised and asked Pankhuri to rest.
At night, Preeti masi came and asked Adi to go pack and rest. That was when he realised they had been holding hands. She was asleep, resting, yet her hold on his hand was tight. He smiled and softly took his hand from hers.

"Ae Romeo! Finally Juliet ke saath rahoge ab 12 dino ki agneepariksha ke baad haan?" Harish joked while helping Adi pack.
"Yes dad! Main na finally ab uske saath reh sakta hoon, usse baatein kar sakta hoon, uski baatein sun sakta hoon! God, I missed her! I missed her so much! Dad, aapko pata hai, uske bina na ab acha nahi lagta. Uske saath hi achha lagta hai" All this while Harish was smiling expectantly while eating an apple, thinking Adi will finally realise his love, when Adi continued, "Ofcourse, best friend jo hai meri!" If not for the fact that Adi was his son and that he needed him, Harish would driven the knife through either Adi or himself instead of the apple.
"Adi, aaj yahaan teri aakhri raat hai na? Chal hum saath mein movie dekhte hai aaj!"
"Wow dad! Nice idea! Konsi dekhenge? Iron man!"
"Abe o angrez ki aulad! Hum...Kuch Kuch Hota Hai dekhenge. Haan."
"Kya? Kuch Kuch Hota Hai? Dad, aap theek to hai na?"
"Haan. Tujhe pata hai, ye movie tumhari mom aur main aise hi late night dekha karte the." Harish looked at his hand. It had bruises from Avantika's nails.
Adi noticed it for the first time. "Dad! Ye kya hua?! Ouch...bohot dard ho raha hoga na? Rukiye, main first aid box leke aata hoon."
"Rehne de Adi, rehne de. Chal apne movie dekhne baithte hai." He looked at his hand. "Ye to pyaar ka dard hai, meetha meetha, pyaara pyaara.."he murmured and smiled a little.
And then they sat for the movie. Even Dadi joined them. After a while came the scene -
"Pyaar kya hota hai? What is love? Rahul?"
"Ma'am, pyaar dosti hai. Agar vo meri sabse achhi dost nai ban sakti to main kabhi uss se pyaar nahi kar sakta! Simple, pyaar dosti hai."
And that got Adi's brain wheels turning. Pyaar dosti hai. Really? He wondered. Did that mean he was in love with his Pankhudi?
"Ek aadmi apna sir sirf 3 aurto ke saamne jhukata hai - ek Maa, ek Devi Maa aur.." Rahul bowed his head in front of his love, Tina.
He had never bowed his head in front of anyone either. Ever. He hadn't even bowed his head in front of Devi Maa even, till his Pankhudi made him. For the first time he touched someone's feet for blessings, that too for his Pankhudi.
He closed his eyes. All these things made him wonder about all the other clich things he'd heard about love. Like main tumhare bina jee nahi paoonga. Which brought out some memories-
Aisa nahi hai ke main tere bina jee nahi sakta, par main tere bina jeena nahi chahta.
His eyes jerked open. "Main- main Pankhudi se- main Pankhudi se pyaar karta hoon!" He turned to his father in excitement, "Main Pankhudi se pyaar karta hoon dad! I love her!" He danced about the whole house telling anything and anyone who could hear. "Daadi! I'm in love with Pankhudi daadi! I love her!"
Daadi and Harish looked on as tears of happiness escaped their eyes, i.e. once they got over their initial shock. "Maa, pata hai pehle mujhe bohot dukh ho raha tha. Pankhu aur Adi ki aadat si ho gai hai itne dino mein. Pehle Pankhu gai aur kal Adi chala jaayega. Par Adi ke iss ek ehsaas ne na mujhe itni khushi di hai ki main ise abhi aur isi waqt meri Pankhu ke paas bhejna chahta hoon!" Daadi agreed.
In his over excitement, Adi even told all the neighbors and anyone who met him on the way to the terrace that he was in love. Once on the terrace, he emptied his lungs screaming "I LOVE YOU PANKHUDI! I LOVE YOU! MAIN TUJHSE PYAAR KARTA HOON! I'M IN LOVE WITH YOU PANKHUDI, I'M IN LOVE WITH YOU!!"
It took Harish an hour to calm Adi down and make him pack. Then came the million dollar question - "Romeo, tu Pankhu ko ye baat kaise batayega?"
And Ekta Kapoor ishtyle camera *left to Adi*dadum*right to Adi*dadum*Up to Adi*dadum (dadum - the bg used 🤣)
And all of his excitement turned into panic. "Dad! Main use bataunga kaise?"
Harish smirked. Since Adi's back faced him, Adi didn't see it.
"Dad, mujhe use ye batana chahiye kya?"
The shock on Harish's face indicated lightening had just struck him - zor ka jhatka haye zoro se laga :P
"Agar wo mujhe sirf apna best friend maanti ho to?"
By now, Harish was literally banging his head on the wall.
"Nahi yaar, phir to gadbad ho jaegi! Main use nai bata sakta!"
Harish had his hands centimetres away from Adi's neck, ready to strangle him, his expression screaming ABE GADHE!!!
If only I could strangle someone! wished Harish, will all heart and mind.
Totally frustrated, Harish gave in to temptation. "Gadha. Duffer. Ek number ka idiot hai tu! Ye itni sundar aakhein bhagwan ne sambhal ke rakhne ke liye ya (gesturing toward you, yes YOU) ladkiyo ko flat karne ke liye nahi di hai! Inka istemal kar na Romeo! Ab to tujhe Romeo kehte hue Romeo ke liye bura lagta hai Adi!"
"Matlab?"
"Matlab? Matlab Adi? Vo ladki aaj hospital mein tere Nana aur Maa ko bachane ki vajah se hai. Vo tere parents ko saath lana chahti hai, tere parivar ko ek karne ki koshish kar rahi hai! Khud se pehle tere baare mein sochti hai. Itna bhi nahi dikhta tujhe? Vo tujhse pyaar karti hai mere duffer!"
"Kya? Pankhudi mujhse pyaar karti hai?"
And it was dance's turn again. Adi danced around the house singing "Pankhudi mujhse pyaar karti hai! Pankhudi bhi mujhse pyaar karti hai!"
Harish and Daadi just shook their heads at his antics.
Suddenly it struck Adi. "Dad? Aapko pehle se pata tha ke Pankhudi mujhse pyaar karti hai? Aap ye pehle se jaante the?"
He got his answer firm Harish's smirk.
"Aur ye ke main usse pyaar karta hoon?"
His smirk became more pronounced. Adi's face dripped disbelief.
"To aapne mujhe bataya kyu nahi?!"
Harish gave a fake smile which soon turned into a scowl. "Abe gadhe! Ye koi batanewali baat hai?"
"Of course!"
"Kya of course! Kaddu! Pyaar na, mehsoos karne ki baat hai." His face broke into a genuine smile. "Pyaar na, duniya ka sabse khoobsoorat ehsaas hai. Ise bolke samjhaya nahi jaa sakta. Ise mehsoos karna padta hai. Dil se awaaz nikalni chahiye ke bas yahi hai vo jiske saath main poori zindagi bitana chahta hoon!"
"Dad, mujhe abhi Pankhudi ko batana hai!"
"Sabar kar beta! Ab pyaar kiya hai to sabr karna bhi seekh hi le! Patience pyaar ka doosra naam hai!"
"Kitni patience rakhu dad ! Ye 10 ghante kaise niklenge?!"
"Tujhse 10 ghante nahi nikal rahe?" He scoffed "Main to 20 saalo se intezar kar raha hoon!" He murmured, not meaning for Adi to hear. But he did.
"Acha dad, aaj main subah subah vo court jaane ke chakkar mein meri file table par hi chhod gaya tha..vo kahaan hai?"
"Haan, vo maine sambhalke cupboard mein rakhi hai. Jaa le le. Varna kal Avantika teri le legi!" he grinned, back to his normal self.
While trying to look for the file, he came across his parents' wedding card.
"25 Dec? 3 days mein unki 25th anniversary hai? Chal bete Adi, ab so jaa. Kalse bohot saare kaam karne hai!"
