Are you following the news? All of last week, there were protests all over Delhi. I think there's still protests going on. There is genuine anger in India this time. They're not sitting idle. The government is making idiotic statements day in and out (not that that's much a of a surprise 🤢), but the people are out on streets protesting.
I don't think this last week, people in India had "false pride." Just like no one in America had any "false pride" 2 weeks back when 27 people were killed in a mass shooting in Newtown :(
Let's not generalize all citizens of a country please.
Frankly speaking, I find this US vs India so stupid and idiotic. BOTH countries have lots of positives and many negatives.
👏 Exactly Himani. Reaction from the masses in India is same as any other place. Same emotions goes on with everyone be it American or Indian- anger, disgust, Rage, Frustration, Embarrassment at the situation. Nobody has false pride.
But there is no radical changes in the policies which Government makes. Government takes its own time and in some high profile cases just keeps on extending the verdict and justice takes its own sweet time (Eg: Salman khan case).
Its very easy to sit behind our computer and expect changes in a country overnight. But everything takes time and I hope for the best. The way ppl are rallying for this girls is just endearing and I hope that the girl recuperates, the guilty hanged to death and certain steps taken to ensure that such disgusting crimes don't happen.
