It's been a usual yet a little bit of unusual chilly morning of Manali.A sheet of mist was floating in the air making the environment a sudden chill.
Mayank got up as his usual time freshenup and made himself ready for office and moved to the kitchen to serve himself with a cup of coffee and a toast.Mayank hadn't hired any cook as he loves cooking for his own because no one stays with him and neither he had allowed anyone.He was having the last piece of his toast when his landline phone rang.He grabbed and answered it.
Mayank:"Hello..!!!"
Voice:"Is this Mayank Sharma the other side.."
Mayank:"Yes..!!"
Voice:"Good Morning Sir..!! I am Inspector Ratuani Speaking"
Mayank*Little bit confuse*:"Yes Sir..!! How may I help you.."
Inspector:"Could you please come to the City Hospital actually there is a patient admitted in the morning and is in very critical stage we want you to identify that patient..."
Mayank*More confounded*:"How did you get my Number Sir"
Inspector:"We got it from the patient's bag.Please come soon.."
Mayank*Taking his car keys*:"I am on my way sir"
While going down to the hospital Mayank's heart was beating very very fast,it was indicating upon something but he couldn't able to understand it.
In 30 minutes he reached the hospital and staright away moved to the reception where she directed him to I.C.U where the Inspector was waiting for him.
Reaching to near to the I.C.U he greeted himself to Inspector.
Mayank:"Morning Inspector..!! I am Mayank Sharma you called me.."
Inspector:"Hello..!! Mr.Sharma thank you for coming'Actually nurse is examining the patient till then let's meet to the doctor."
Nodding his head he followed the Inspector.
Mayank's P.O.V
On reaching the Doctor's cabin he made us sit and opened a file.After a brief silence Inspector asked me,"Mr.Sharma do you know this man'?"
He showed me a picture ,he seems to be familiar ,I took the picture from his hand and looked it carefully,I think I had seen him somewhere but not able to recall it properly.I put a little more pressure on my brain and then after a moment or two I realized he is Dhruv one of Nupur's friend he was there when we were gathered together for my not happened marriage.
"Yes'!! Inspector I know him he was'*What should I call Nupur'should I 'okay..*Inspector he was'he was my fiance's friend."
The inspector was giving a very serious look to me,after a concise moment he looked at me my heart was thundering aloud saying there is something of which I am unknown.
Then he spoke having a serious gaze on his face,"Today early morning he comitted suicide infrontof us,before we could stop him or before my team could had shoot him he shot himself."
I took a long breath to register this and then asked the Inspector,"Why you were upto shoot him .."
Inspector:"Well'Mr.Sharma actually he had imprisoned a lady from past I suppose around 3-4 years and was actually treating her miserably,last night that lady able to inform us about his deeds and before we could catch him he shot himself'actually the lady to whom he has imprisoned was beated very badly,I suppose she has tortured very very brutally for 3-4 years and her condition was not at all good and from there we get a bag of her in which we get your Number and we called you.up'"
I couldn't able to understand what's all this going on Dhruv has imprisoned someone and has beaten her badly I felt so bad for her lady and now her condition is so bad that she is in I.C.U. But who is she ,how come she has my number.
Before I could ask about her lady Inspector asked the condtion about that lady to the doctor,"So Doctor how is she now.."
Doctor after glancing me a bit,"Well I can say she is better ,she is in the affect of the high dose,I prefer to let her stay in the for a 4-5 days after that only I could permit to discharge her,she got a minor fracture on her shoulder rest are the bruises."
Listening to the doctor my curosity increases more who could be that lady now without wasting a time I asked the doctor ,"Who is she Doctor and how how come she knows me '"
Doctor:"Well her name is " Then only a nurse came and interrupted him,"Doctor..!! the patient is getting concious."
Inspector:"Come Mr.Sharma I hope you could able to recognize her."
I nodded my head and followed the inspector.As soon as the door open my feet froze,cold sweat form on my forhead,I just can't believe this,I was really in a great shock I mean ..this is the least I had expected 'I mean could be anybody but not this,I don't want situation layed to be like this I mean no ..this is all bullshit what I am seeing is..completely,absolutely a bad dream it's nothing than a nightmare all I have to do is have pinch myself and would come from this dreadfull nightmare finding myself alone in the monotnous room.I mean what I am seeing cannot be possible , my feet are not moving an inch ,they are not supporting me ,it seems that I may fall at any moment.No'.why'unknown to me tears were forming in my eyes and at any time could have been rolled down from my cheeks,I couldn't able to move forward.

I stepped back rather moving forward until my back was touched by the wall behind .

I watched her ,still her image got burry because tears were formed in my eyes.

my knees got weaken and I sat there on the corridor,I even forgot to breath,my throat went dry I can't to able to even cry.

Tears were making there way out from my eyes and I silently allowed to them come and flow.

Doctor Examined her and asked us to visit her later right now she is not at all in a condition to even blink her eyes.
Coming out of the I.C.U. Inspector asked me,"Mr.Sharma Do you know her.."
Words were choked in my throat they were not coming from my mouth,I stood up and nodded my head in affirmation and then stammering a lot I let him know who is she .
"Inspector .. I ..I k'n-ow her , sh'she is my 'she is my fiance..Inspector she is my love ,Inspector she is my Nupur..My Nupur my Nupur.."And saying so tears who were waiting their way out rolled down from my cheeks.
My Nupur is back she is back.
