Chapter 2
"I don't know what's wrong with me," he said after a while, staring at her, "I shouldn't be here. I shouldn't think about you in this way. Heck, I shouldn't have come here in the first place."
She nodded, agreeing with him, "and you shouldn't have disturbed my thoughts. All this will not happen in this way. You are right; I shouldn't have invited you for a coffee. Arnav… leave before it's too late."
"It's too late, Khushi"he hissed under his breath, moving away from her as he ran his hand through his hair, annoyed. "I will make a mov…."
The door bell rang, forcing them to stop their conversations. It was past 11:30 and she saw his questioning eyes and shook her head. "A friend…" was all she managed to say before leaving kitchen.
She shouldn't have invited him as he said, she thought. What now…? Arnav would see him and she had to tell him about their relationship. He would know that she was a married woman. How would he react…? Would he leave her without listening to her…? Or would he think about her as a characterless woman…?
She saw Lavanya with him as she opened the door. She felt disappointed. She wanted to talk to him alone, regarding their relation, but he brought her along. How she wanted to assure the woman that she would never want her boyfriend..!
Arnav's looks bothered her. She knew he was looking at them from behind and turned to face him, and at them.
"I will wait here. Make it fast"Lavanya said to him and Khushi wanted to chuckle. She wanted to ask who spoiled who's lives, but kept mum, as always.
She turned to Arnav, "Can you wait for me in that room," she asked pointing to a door behind them and smiled as he nodded. This was going to be a long night, and she hated long nights.
She let the door wide open to assure Lavanya that she would do nothing. She had no responsibility in doing that, but she couldn't help but feel sad for the woman and her insecurities. She saw him looking at her with questions in his eyes.
"Who is that man, Khushi?"
She stared at him. She didn't expect him to ask that question in such a way. But Khushi was not going to play two goody shoes anymore. "How in the heavens name does that matter to you?" she snapped back, not even controlling her temper. She was frustrated to see her life being all messed up, and the fact that Arnav, even he got the opportunity to hit on her when she herself invited him, he just backed off, asking her to ask him leave the flat. She wondered that how was it possible to have such people like Arnav and the man in front of her belong to the same planet.
"Matters to me…? It bloody matters to me. It's me they would ask about you, Khushi. I am the one to answer to our family about the man and you."
"And it's me who has to answer about the woman in your life, NK"she shouted, losing all the control. She felt disgust with the man. She loathed him. How dare he to point at her relationship with Arnav? How dare he to point Arnav? She saw Lavanya ran into the room. She knew Arnav would come to, but didn't stop at that point. "How dare you ask about him when you are at fault…? And what did you say? You are the one to answer our family. Do you even remember that we are family? Do you even remember that I am your f**king wife? Do you even remember that I have my own damn life? I can't wait anymore, NK. One year…! I gave you one year and you didn't come up with anything regarding us. I need to be free from this nameless relation. I can't act as a happily married woman in front of our family. I don't care… not about our family… not about your mother. I want divorce right away. This is your problem, NK, and if you can't find enough strength to break the news to your mother, well, I am going to do it myself. And what did you mean…? That you have to answer your mother about my illegitimate relation with other man, right…! Then tell her that Arnav is a true man… yes, a man. Even though I stand in front of him, naked, he will ask me whether I am okay with that, whether I want that with him; unlike you, who just informed his wife an hour after the wedding that he would move in with his girlfriend, leaving everything on her to handle the families."
She waited for the pain in her chest but it never came. She waited for tears to spill out but she never found them. This was the first time that she reacted this violently. She let her heart shout at NK to its content. And to her surprise, she didn't feel sad or guilty for bursting out at him; in fact she felt happy. She felt relaxed and at ease. She knew she didn't want NK in her life, but couldn't follow her heart and be with Arnav. Her morals stopped her from going to Arnav, the man she really trusted and admired.
"Don't you dare to say a word with Mom, Khushi... Don't you f**king da…."
She watched him as he stood in front of her, blocking her view and cutting NK in middle.
"Same goes to you…!"Arnav warned NK and Khushi never heard his voice in such a dangerous way, "Don't you dare to even badmouth with Khushi, and I need to inform you beforehand so that you will think about the solution, answer whatsoever. Khushi is moving in with me within a few days…"
Khushi felt a smile formed on her lips as her heart swelled with his concern, and she was equally shocked to hear his decision. And she realized that there was more to their relationship than she ever thought they had.
"From the time she moved in with me, she is not going to act as your wife anymore near anyone. So, you better let her free from this bond, near your family. Not that the fact that she is still your wife will stop me from being with her – it's just, I can't see her suffer in this act…!"

No offence on NK and Lavanya, guys. I really like them and the actors. It's just, the reasonthat I used them for the characters is, the characters are so close to us and we can just relate with them even more.
You all can imagine whoever actors you like...!
