Ekta throws b'day party for Bani

Had it not been for Queen of Soaps Ekta Kapoor, her unofficial adopted daughter Prachi Desai (Bani of Kasamh Se) would have spent her 18th birthday like any other day. Kapoor had special plans for Prachi, which took her completely by surprise. To begin with, Kapoor and Prachi began the day by going to Siddhi Vinayak temple.

"I felt so good to be at Siddhi Vinayak on my 18th birthday. It was a very special feeling," she says.

Then Prachi rushed to the Kasamh Se set where she shot for a few scenes. "After that, we cut a cake and then smashed it all over each other's faces. That was a lot of fun!"

Time to party

In the evening, Kapoor organised a party for her at a suburban lounge bar. Says Kapoor, "I invited only a few people.

The Kasamh Se actors were all there. Prachi is family to me. She is one of the most talented kids. All the actors were planning to do something for her. So I decided to throw a party instead."

Sakshi Tanwar, Shabbir Ahluwalia, Mouni Roy and Reshmi Ghosh were some of those outside Kasamh Se who attended the celebration night.
What did Ekta gift her? Says Prachi, "Ekta gave me a book of sacred mantras. And then, of course, how can I forget the happening party?"

So did Prachi get her first sip of alcohol when she officially turned into an adult? "I am suddenly feeling big now, but I didn't have my first drink! A lot of people told me to have a few sips at least, but I refused because I didn't feel like it. But yes, I danced a lot and resumed shooting the next day only in the afternoon."

Prachi's original plans for September 12 were rather simple. "Otherwise I would have shot for the entire day, and gone for a film with my sister Isha at night. I will never forget my 18th birthday now. Thanks to Ekta, it became special."
