Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hain.
Chapter 1: First Meet.
He entered the house wearing a navy blue shirt and light blue jeans. His hairs were messy and he looked tired. Well he ought to be, it was a long journey from Mumbai to Jodhpur. Swayam came out and hugged him. Wearing track pants and a tee-shirt it surely didn't seem he was the groom. Smiling he said,
"Rey, finally you arrived. I was freaking out dude, shaadi yaar."
"Freaking out, really? Tere toh bachpan ka sapna poora ho raha hain, you are getting married to Sharon."
"Yes, very funny. Well, you must be tired; I will show you your room. Freshen up, get some rest, phir sab se milata hoon."

He splashed cold water on his face and took a deep breath. The travelling had made him really tired. He got out of the bathroom with a towel around his neck. Not bothering to change he simply hit the bed. Lying flat on his stomach, within minutes he was asleep.
He woke up hearing his phone ring.
"Rey, open the door yaar." Swayam over the phone.
"Huh?" he was still drowsy and couldn't hear him correctly.
"Darwaza khol, I am outside." He shouted.
It still took him a few more minutes before he realized what was happening. He got off the bed and opened the door.
"You have been sleeping for 5 hours, are you alright?" Swayam asked.
"Yes, I am fine, just tired." He replied back.
"Alright then, neeche aa ja, sab se mila ta hoon"
"Just give me a minute."
He went in, put on a comfortable t-shirt and walked out.

They both got down and he noticed that the decorations in the hall had begun. The surrounding looked perfect for a wedding to take place. He noticed there were a lot of people downstairs and suddenly he felt his heart rate increasing. He found it amusing because he was never scared of meeting people, but then the anxiety increases being in totally unfamiliar surroundings.
They reached down and every pair of eyes were on them. Smiling, Swayam moved ahead to a tall fair lady wearing white trousers and grey shirt. Her features were very much similar to Swayam's. Rey had guessed it instantly that she was his Mother, owing to the photographs Swayam shared with him. Swayam walked him to her,
"Uh Rey, that's my Mother and Mom that's Rey."
"Hello aunty." He greeted her politely.
"Hello Beta. Finally we are meeting. Nice to see you."
"You too." He replied back.
Swayam's Mother was a rather contemporary lady for the otherwise orthodox family. And that probably was the reason for her not being able to gel with the family and her divorce with his father.
Now they walked up to Swayam's father and he was just like he had imagined him to be. A tall, well built man, slightly grey hair and a mustache.
"Papa, Rey." That's all Swayam said.
"Namaste uncle."
"Hello." He said patting his arm. He had a heavy voice, enough to shake any person.
He introduced him to a couple of more relatives and all of them greeted him nicely. A while more of random chatter and then Swayam's father spoke,
"Ek ghate main panditji aa jayenge, sab tayar ho jayiye." He said so and left and so did everyone else.
"Dude, what are you going to wear?" Swayam asked him.
"I don't know, I will wear some shirt."
"Shirt?"
"Yea, why?"
"Didn't you get any kurti, I told you to."
"I did, but I am going to use those for the wedding, tumne mujhe puja ke baare toh kuch bataya hi nahi tha."
"Okay fine, ek kaam kar, go to my room, there are a lots of things in the cupboard. Pick whatever you like."
"Alright, but what's wrong in a shirt?"
"Just do what I say." He pushed him away.

He walked into the room, it was gloomy, the drapes were down. He didn't bother to switch on the lights and simply walked to the cupboard. He took off his shirt and began looking for the clothes. It took him about a minute and he pulled out two - a crimson and an off-white one. He was about to keep the off-white back when he noticed a lady putting some box besides the bed through the mirror. Shocked he turned around, switching on the lights he spoke,
"Excuse me."
In front of him was a 5 ft tall, petite woman, wearing a red anarkali dress. Even though he was surprised finding a strange woman in Swayam's room, he couldn't help but notice how beautiful she was. She had big, diamond shaped eyes and luscious lips which were standing out because of the glossy lipstick that she was wearing. The color of her dress reflected on her cheeks giving them a soft reddish blush. Her waist length wavy hair added to her beauty. He was caught in an awe looking at her and didn't even realize when she walked up to him.
With her eyebrows frowned, she looked at the half bare guy standing right in front of her. She snapped her fingers in front of his face, making him get out of his stance.
He got back to reality. He looked at her, she was staring back and then her eyes went down his body. She looked back up with raised eye brows. He realized he wasn't wearing his shirt and moved to put it on, only to be stopped by her.
"Don't mind."
Saying so she moved across and took both the kurtis in her hand.
"Here, wear this." She said handing him the crimson one.
He looked down at it, he was about to speak but she beat him.
"Just pop out a couple of buttons and you are good to go." Her last words were coupled by a wink.
Before he could say anything else she left. His eyes followed here till the very last moment. He couldn't understand what it was, was it her beauty or his attitude, but there was something that had impressed him. It was pretty much evident with the slight smile he had on his face.
"Nice" he said to himself as he wore the kurti she handed him.

He came down and noticed the same girl standing right next to Swayam. They were talking about something and laughing. He walked up to them,
"Rey that's Taani, my cousin and Taani this is Rey."
"Hello, nice to meet you." She said with a cheeky smile.
He nodded his head as they shook hands. At the same moment someone called Swayam and he left.
Still holding her hand he spoke,
"I guess we have met before?" he said with a smirk.
"Yea right, even I remember your face." She said with a playful smile.
She paused for a moment and spoke again,
"I know you really like me but you can leave my hand now, sab dekh rahe hain." She said whispering towards the end.
"Oh I am so sorry." immediately letting her go.
"Not a problem."
She was about to say something else but someone called her out. Hesitantly she began to leave.
"Okay then Rey, see you around."
"Sure. I look forward to it" He answered with a shy smile.
She took a step ahead to heave, paused and turned back.
"By the way, the kurti really suits you. But honestly, you look better off it. "
She walked away saying so and yet again his eyes followed her till the very end. Unknowingly he whispered,
"Taani."
