Did RK sense Dips before she entered? 😲🤢 Looking at her, it seems she might play her second round of poisoning his mind She knows how and where to hit him, and with RK's mind getting charged up to leave everything with Madhu, she might try to manipulate him once again. I hope I am wrong.

On one side RK deeply loves Madhu, then why he is yet to come out of Dips spell? He should be indifferent to Dips at least now!!!

Great analysis everyone Shri, Priya, Himbin, RKlover, PreetD,Bhakti and all other writers I might have missed mentioning ...I really enjoyed the discussion on this thread today👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏.
I am enticed by the constant aura of mystery and unpredictability that surrounds RK. Today we added another layer of mystery to his character with his reaction to Dips presence at his party and the mysterious note. If I take a clue from the past nothing about this character is simple and there is immense darkness woven in each of his facets. I have always wondered about his relation with Dips. While he was betrayed by his parents (in his mind) but he does not display the same amout of hatred and disgust towards them as with Dips. I wonder if that is because somewhere he realizes that they had thier reasons to desert him and those reasons were not necessarily materialistic. Dips was the only person who actually betrayed him for materialistic gains and completely selfish interests. I think he is further disgusted by the fact that Dips is ready to betray Sikky at a moment's notice. He might not care for his stepbrother but I don't think he intentionally wants to hurt his step-family.
RK was struggling when Dips ditched him. He was smart, talented and probably well connected but he needed that last push. I would guess he used his hatred for Dips, his self disgust as a motivational tool to reach the pinacle and succeed. However he payed a price by becoming more cynical and sarcastic. It would be an interesting coincidence if they show that RK gave his first shot the day Dips broke up with him. My guess is that note is either a letter from Dips informing him to her decision to move on and marry Sikky (Given Dips character the note was probably immensely caustic and demeaning) or a list of goals that Rk set for himself to achieve when Dips broke up with him. He probably hid it from Madhu because he does not want Madhu to be a witness to his past shame. It was also explain the fuming and immense hatred when he saw Dips.
Now comes the leaving show biz past. RK is strangely much more grounded than most superstars thanks to all the betrayals and shocks he has recieved in his life. I have an odd feeling that he is able distinguish between what is real and what is illusion. While he basks in his superstar status, he does not seem to enjoy it. Instead he seems to have learnt the art of wielding his status/media/power as a weapon to get what he wants. The way I see it he is constantly performing the role of RK even in his personal life. It was obvious in his press conference, his dealings with Ila Ramani or the other day at police station. Bollywood is a industry where building and living illusions is a part of life. For someone like him who is performing the role of RK in his real life, aware that his family is leeching off him or is constantly aware of the illusions, Bollywood must feel like a prison. It is understandable that he wants to hide in obsecurity and yearns a much simpler life. His father's death and experience in the industry and Dip's constant reminder of people loving him due to his success has probably added more incentive to his wanting to escape.
This is a very interesting story of an odd couple - a superstar who wants to hide from limelight and a future actress who hates acting with gusto. Both of them yearn a simple life and will probably end up spending thier entire life reluctantly in this industry while no one is wiser to thier internal turmoil or discontent.
The only other scene that I loved was when RK confessed that he had become braindead on seeing Madhu and Madhu does not believe him. In fact this scene is one of my favorites- When RK sees Madhu standing on the bridge, it seems as if he has just seen some one walk out his dream in real life. It is as if he just encountered his destiny and he walks to the bridge almost spellbound. This is also why I always felt that there was something more than revenge to RK's offer of marraige.
Now questions I am pondering upon-
1) I am very interested in understanding how Sikky's film was financed. Was it Kundra money or Bhatia money that was used? If it was Kundra money then it would further explain why RK seems so disappointed in his mother, his anger at Bhatias and Dips and his hesitation in producing his dream movie from his money. It would also hint at Kuku Bhatia's motivation in marrying Radha.
2)I have always believed that Madhubala was the protagonist of the show and ishq part of tagline talked of her feelings while junoon part refered to RK. However lately I am beginning to revise my opinion-maybe the name points to the central theme of the show "Madhubala" who was someone's love (RK) and someone's obsession (Dips/trishna's to destroy or maybe a costar's to possess, or maybe public obsession for her beauty and work).
3) Realistically speaking there are very few celebrity power actor couples in India who are both sucessful in thier personal life as well professional even after thier marraige. The only ones I could think of Saif/ Kareena, Arbaaz/Mallaika, Abhishek/Ash and Aamir Khan/Kiran Rao. It will be interesting to see if the show manages to show the life of a couple like that minus the usual MU business.

The big takeaway from this episode for me is that RK/Rishabh loves Madhu more than she loves him.

Madhu is busy cooking for patidev, fixing things with his mommy etc etc. She's content. RK is not. He wants more. He really wants to get away from it all with her. He is not afraid to tell her his heart got involved from their very first meeting. I'm sure she only softened towards him after the "studio-wala" night. It is both ishq and junoon for him, she's still only in ishq. Madhu has become essential for RK's happiness and peace of mind - witness how he protected her from Ballu.

I don't think she really comprehends what he feels for her.

The reason RK wants to chuck it all and go, IMO and like others have said too: Dipali has put it into his head that
kabhi kisi ko muqammal jahaan nahin milta
kahin zameen toh kahin aasmaan nahin milta

you can't have everything.
so he's deliberately cutting a deal with his lot in life. Give me love, Give me Madhu and I'll give up all this. He's pre-empting fate. Willing to settle for a humdrum life of quietude because he can't live without the other.

Of course, destiny has other plans in store. Two people to whom fame, fortune and stardom is not as important as love will be maneuvered into the spotlight again and again. It will be their fate, their landscape, their work. Great concept. And if they stay together it all, it'll be a wonderful way of telling this larger than life story of two superstars.

And Madhu didn't take him seriously, hmm, when he said it was love at first sight for him. Too many things happened, I guess. Well, just another chance for him to tell her how it was with him. 😳

I dont know about others, but I kinda of liked it when RK was in all lovey dovey mood, BIWI was in no mood to reciprocate😆 or should I say BIWI believes in action and not words 😉..Ofcourse, there would be a better moment for him to tell his BIWI what he felt when he saw her first time. 😳

PS: I dont know if anybody think like this, but the way RK looks at Madhu( who is honestly like a child lost in her own world), it seems RK wants to save Madhu's innocence/naivety too. He enjoys seeing Madhu happy in her own thoughts, doing wifey things and he is content with that. Perhaps that protective streak in RK would never like Madhu to be part of stardom ever, which perhaps will also make her wear an artificial facade to protect herself like RK, but destiny would play its own cards on these two.

@DramaCrazy 12 and all other writers...

Very nicely written. So far I am kind of refraining from analyzing deep into these character's psyche for the fear that then they will remain with me longer than I would like them to. :-) As it is they are hovering...

Here are my 2 paise worth rambling which I am sure has been echoed before... Not sure if I am too late for this particular thread. In which case, can the admin please post it to the next thread?

There is ~ 9 years age gap between our couple RK and Madhu. The circumstances which forced them to live under the same roof were manufactured by RK forcefully. Madhu did not have time to think or feel any romantic or even friendly feelings about RK before marriage. On top of that, she is a shy simple girl who will not show her affection openly. She is in awe of him regarding his superstar status. She has confessed before that to her, RK is an enigma. Every time she tries to figure him out, he does something so different and unexpected, that she is back to square one. This has to stop othewise she is forever left wondering about who is it this person she meets every day. I am sure she loves him but I do not think she herself knows the depth of it. She is ready to live or die for him but I think she has yet not found what he exactly means to her. She respects him, even loves him but I think still sometihng is missing from her actions, behavior, conversation.

RK on the other hand is more sauve, intelligent and worldly wise due to his profession. Use aadmi ki parakh hai. He knows exactly what Madhu is and is not. His love for her is deep, complete and his every action speaks it loudly. He is very possessive about her as we have all agreed.

His latest decision about leaving everything (power, fame, wealth, status) that he has worked hard for has us all intrigued. We are all questioning why does he want to do that when he now has one thing that has eluded him in the past - namely love. However I did not in any scene saw Madhu question or confront him about his decision, discuss what it might mean (trials and hardships of establishing oneself all over again). She is blindly nodding her head to this. That is not what a patni should do. She needs to participate in this decision, be a part of it and not let him do it one sided. The reason for that is, he is now married, not a single man who would decide both their fates single handedly. He decided her fate before again he plans to do it again.

We need 4 pillars for a successful marriage (friendship, love, respect & trust) and they need to be erected on the foundation of pati-patni rishta. RK has already demonstrated that he trusts her and is in love with her. We need to see more friendship and respect in their interaction now.

As RK has promised, the pati patni rishta will follow eventually...

Puja,
Not sure if you are watching the show from the beginning. But you need to understand Rishabh Kunda and Madhubala story from the vantage of Hum Hai Deewane Tere Deewana song. That's an OST and writtent especially to eulogize Rishbala relationship.

The song explains that it is Ishq and Junoon for both of them. Just that one doesn't want to define it and yet gets the pleasure out of it and the other is so clear about it that he is stuck between pleasure and pain.

Here is the song...

The male version and female version of the lyrics essentially explain the "kashmakash", the dilemmas, the contradictions of their feelings with each other, them trying to comprehend what the other means to him/her self.
And also, juxtapose the lyrics'what the female asks, the male answers and vice versa. Play the two songs together, they completely explain each other.

Madhu's version ' the angst felt at the resignation'and yet accepted in all gladness for the pleasure of it 'the yearning to sacrifice herself for his love

Kaisa yeh ishq, kaisa yeh junoon ?
Bekaraar mein hi tu karaar !
Tu rah ke bhi door, mujh mein hai rabba
jaane yeh kaisa hai pyaar !
Hum hai Deewane Tere Deewane ' 4
Tujh se hasee, tujh se udaasi
Kadmaakash hai rabba
Roothi hoon phir bhi raazi
Tu hi hai maula Tu hi hai Qazi ' 2
Kya karoon bayaan
Tere Ishq pe jaan Qurbaan
Hum hai Deewane Tere Deewane '4

RK's version ' the pleasure of of attainment felt and even more the pain of longing and separation felt deeply 'the yearning never to be afar from her
Tera Ishq hi Mera junoon hai Mahee
Bekaraar Kahe ya karaar ?
Bujh ke na bujhe ye pyaas o rabba
jaane yeh kaisa hai pyaar!
Hum hai Deewane Tere Deewane '4
Kitni baar hum milke bicchde
tu hi jaane rabba
Duniya se hum begaane
Tu hai sirf Meri, Phir bhi na jaane ' 2
Mujh ko tu ye bataa
Dooriyan hai kyon darmiyaan
Hum hai Deewane Tere Deewane '4

I shall call you MM for ease. Hope you don't mind.

I agree with your exposite on their state of minds and how they see each other from where they stand. Clearly there is a lot of difference and they will always have to bridge the gap...the way they are trying to do...in the present theme of Let's leave everything and settle down somewhere else, begin everything ANEW.

The excerpt I took from your earlier post (pasted above) says that Madhu needs to participate in the decision making. If you really see it, Madhu actually has influenced RK to heed to what she wants. He wanted her to come away RIGHT NOW. But Madhu resisted and now RK is doing what she wants ...SETTING EVERYTHING RIGHT FOR HER, according to her way of HAPPINESS.

The relationship is complex and beautiful in the sense that the sense of possession for each of them is not about objectified possession but sense of DEVOTION to each other.

Madhu says...You are my God and You are my Judge. I accept all your wishes even if they are not of my liking.

Tujh se hasee, tujh se udaasi
Kadmaakash hai rabba
Roothi hoon phir bhi raazi
Tu hi hai maula Tu hi hai Qazi
Kya karoon bayaan
Tere Ishq pe jaan Qurbaan

Rishabh Kundra says...I don't belong to THIS world and
You are Mine (My world) and yet there is THIS DISTANCE.
Kitni baar hum milke bicchde
tu hi jaane rabba
Duniya se hum begaane
Tu hai sirf Meri, Phir bhi na jaane
Mujh ko tu ye bataa
Dooriyan hai kyon darmiyaan

But that Rishabh shows us hope that they are going to win over each distance that they create for each other because, Rishabh is so sure and resolved about it to remove and Madhu will accept it forever, because those very actions of RIshabh bring her pleasure and pain. She cannot see his pain and she cannot keep away from the pleasure he gives her through his actions. So She will walk towards him as keeps building that bridge between them for her to walk in coming towards him. And as for Madhu, walking towards a revered person such as God is not going to be easy...there are so many things that she needs to leave behind, which is another maya-jaal for her.
