Ok I realise there's a lot of hype on our TRP ratings. Yes we did hit a bottom low of 1.8 but ask yourselves PVians, does this or will this ever change your love for the show?
One thing for sure, TRP is not an accurate measure of a show's popularity as it only takes into account television viewers and that too only in India.. As we all know, with the spread of technology, many and most people are watching PV via online streaming due to various reasons. Besides PV has got wide International audience, thus making this TRP inapplicable to all the viewers mentioned above.
The fact is and always will be that PV is a very unique show and touches on issues that previous serials have chose to ignore if not failed to address in their shows due to the fear of acceptance. The creators of PV took a bold decision and presented the entire world with this one of a kind concept which is still considered taboo in many societies and the result is it garnered respect of viewers and a special place in most of our hearts which is evident through PV winning various awards for best story and concept.
Furthermore, PV also has a stellar cast assembly, especially Kratika and Gurmeet who are champions in acting. They can deliver emotions, expressions and messages unlike any other in the industry. Plus they continue to delicately embrace their characters with such class and poise that accurately portray parents to 3 kids who have to struggle with various challenges remarriage has to offer.
Moreover, the CVs continually touch on various social stigmas present in this society, such as gender discrimination, social perceptions on remarriage etc which are again something people fear to talk about and tend to ignore but are important issues to address. The CVs has take upon them this challenge to enlighten society on these issues and in my opinion they have succeeded in their endeavour.
So let's ask ourselves, will any type of rating change the fact that PV has done a tremendous job so far? Will these rating dampen our interest in this show? Will we give up watching PV for what inaccurate ratings have got to say about our beloved show?
For me it's a BIG AND ABSOLUTE NO WAY IN HELL... I love this show because of the reasons mentioned above and more. Nothing will change that as I've never seen such boldness on Indian telly. PV has my full love and respect as it is not only bold but also very creative by offering us something tellywood has never seen before.
If at all, this TRP should not dampen our love, instead it should make our love for PV stronger. It is crucial now that we stand together and continue showing our love, support and dedication to this serial so that it can be better and grow for many years to come. I really hope we won't see viewers leaving the show due to this TRP as we need everyone now the most. Continue showing your love and support and I'm very sure we can weather out this tiny little problem. Let's see the big large white canvas PVians. This TRP is just a black spot on our miles and miles of white canvas.
PV rocks and will always continue to rock as we have the best CVs and casts in town.. TRP, you can't and will never change a thing.. We are ardent fans of PV and will continue being so (I hope I'm talking for most of us).. So lets not worry so much and continue what we're doing. Everything will fall into place and be better. I'm super confident and optimistic about it. ❤️
