I was relived, which girl would say yes after reading that letter.

It has been a week since the day I gave the letter to Maa. I have heard nothing from her side. I did not know what exactly I was feeling, at one end I was relieved and on the other end I felt sad, this was not doing any good to my male ego.

Annie came in running, Bhai phone for you, I wondered who would call me on landline, I asked her to transfer the call to my room extension, she frowned, 'Bhai it is on my cell';

I gave her a pleading look and took her cell, 'hello, Maan here' the voice on the other end made my heart skip a beat, 'hello I am Geet', I was surprised by the sweet female voice, ' Geet who?' she chirped, ' Geet as in Geet Handa, Annie's friend and the one you wrote that letter to'

I did not know what to say, so she is the girl I wrote my sad story to, 'hello miss, I hope you got my letter' she said, 'yes I got it, now can you first ask Annie to leave the room so that I can talk to you' I looked at Annie and before I could say she said, 'OK Bhai am leaving, but' she snatched the phone from me and said, 'Geet ki bachchi, you are not yet my bhabhi, note Bhai's number and call him, my poor cell has many more chores' and she gave her my number and left showing a thumbs up to me.

I just did not know what to assume from all this, my cell buzzed and I picked it up, she was on line, 'so Mr. Khurana, how are you?' I wondered is she as straight forward as Annie? 'I am good miss, how are you?' she replied, 'I too am good, but I have a name also, did you forget it that soon' the way she said it I wanted to laugh but I checked myself, 'no miss I remember it, its Geet' she said, 'so what's the harm in calling me Geet, look miss has 4 letters M-I-S-S and Geet also has 4 letters G-E-E-T and if you speak about Hindi, both words have 1 matra that is I in miss and EE in Geet, so one has to use same vocal chords, yes Geet requires more pressure then miss that I can understand' she was going like an express train, nonstop I better say something before she gives me more of her so called logic, 'OK I understood, I will call you Geet, right' she replied, 'why did you call me miss at the first time, if you would have called me Geet so much of my energy would have been saved' I wanted to bang my head but I also liked the way she was going nonstop with her talking.

I instinctively touched my ears, and said, 'I am sorry'

she said, 'it's ok, but remember no unnecessary mistakes, now let me come to the point, I got your letter, I appreciate the effort you did to inform me, but in my case there is no need to, now you must be wondering why, let me tell you, look your ragging news was telecasted all over the media and as I was also in 1st year then it was obvious I paid attention; me and my batch mates we even participated in the protest against ragging march; we all were with you, and later when Annie joined as my roommate and junior she told me every detail she knew. Now you must be thinking when your sister and me we both passed in the same year, how is it that I was her senior; the reason is that she did her engineering a 4 yr degree where as I am an architect, and my degree is of 5 yrs. I think I have clarified most of your doubts; and if you want to ask me any questions you can'

She talked nonstop, now it was my turn to speak, 'ok you know everything, but what about that the one sided love thing; don't you have any problem with it'

She laughed, 'one sided thing na, I don't even have a count of my crushes, every eligible smart I see I fall for him, but I know that there is a difference between crush and love, yours sounded like infatuation, if MSK falls in love with someone he sure will find where she is? And if you have not found her then she definitely is not your love'

I said, 'then you will be disappointed, I have tried a lot to find her, I even went to her workplace, but I got no information about her, she disappeared as if she never existed'

She sighed, 'once we get married and then you find her, will you leave your legally wedded wife for her'

I was speechless; this girl sure has guts, 'IDK'

She laughed, 'then its final, we will get married as soon as possible'

she interfered, 'known devil is better than the unknown one, in your case I at least know that my Sil as in sister in law and Mil as in mother in law and Fil as in father in law are good, look I find yours as a good package, I will not dither now, I have said yes, now the ball is in your court. Think and tell your mother, and don't take long, your letter reached me yesterday, if only you have used your mobile instead of post, we would have been preparing for the engagement'

I was taken aback, she was so much like Annie, too much to the point, 'can we meet before deciding anything, may be after seeing me you would change you POV'

She said, 'and may be after seeing me you will not want to marry me, maybe you are thinking what would a girl look like who talks so much, so let me clear first, I am not a little girl, but I am a mature and responsible career woman. I may not be what you have in mind, I am not cute as Annie, not smart as Sasha, not foody as Pinky and not innocent as Aarohi; I am what I am, I am the Geet Handa. Did you get it'

This girl she makes me go speechless, I already do not have much words, and here she talks endlessly, 'so when shall we meet?'

She said, 'we can meet after 3 days, you come to my place'

I promptly said, 'few mins ago you were talking about wasting time, and now you are postponing the meeting by 2 days where are you today if possible we can meet today itself'

She was silent, then she spoke after few seconds, 'ok where do you want to meet, your office is closed as today is Sunday, your house, no it is not a neutral ground, can it be some place both public as well as private enough for us to talk'

So after much of discussing it was decided that they will meet at ABC place in 2 hrs.
