Reason for weak laws in India

Over the decades criminals have been making a foot hold in the Indian politics. These criminals are now present in the Loksabha and Rajyasabha of Indian parliament as also the Vidhan sabhas of each state which are fully infested with criminals.

These criminals are having thousands of cases pending against them in most of the courts across India.

If the government makes the laws stringent or sentences the common criminals with harsh punishments, then the courts all over India will have to follow the precedence and take stern decisions in the cases against the political leaders as well.

To keep the political leaders safe from being convicted in crimes against women, for decades now the government of India has not made the laws strong for such crimes.

It may come as a surprise to many that most of the laws in India have been diluted just to protect the political class. This has also resulted in crores of cases pending in various courts in India. This has also resulted in lengthening of court cases.

For sixty of the sixty five years of India's independence it is one party which has ruled the country.
