Sadly this is the way our society thinks of us women as and that's how it is portrayed as in all Indian TV shows.I'ts high time they stopped this cliched thought process as gone are the day's of a women beingng looked upon as an abla nari.In this day and age women are an inspiration to us all for the things they are doing to or are able to do to display their strength, their independence in be it their career or their household...a man is not always needed to show us women the way in life so it would make a nice chage to show us more stronger female character's on Indian TV shows.

Hey Riddha! Good point.

I guess society thinks it's changing but it never is. Women will always be subjected and why? Because that's just how it is. I'm not saying that's a good thing but I mean, society isn't going to change this quick. Hence, women are always victimised.

It's definitely not Humera's fault as she didn't know that the guy wasn't Ayaan, nor was it Zoya's to be forced into a marriage. They both were wronged but I'm glad that other's and by that I mean Dilshad and Ayaan and their gut instincts that they felt that something was wrong. I mean, would this really happen in real life?

@bold... thats the million dollar question zahara

Really liked your post. Sadly this is the norm of most south Asian societies and as an American Indian living in US for ages I still have to give answers to my friends here. They repeatedly ask me why women are considered a commodity? It's sad but it's true that nothing has changed in India in accordance with women or the behavior towards women...in Indian television women has always been portrayed as a housewife taking care or the family...or are shown as vamps. I don't even want to begin the way male chauvinistic behavior has been glorified in the name of passion. Domestic violence and man handling has been promoted in the name of love and passion... and 4lions is great in doing that.

Well...in QH get ready to see the great hero Asad saving Zoya from the goons and getting even more glorified and Zoya been shown as someone weak and not been ale to defend herself. It's pathetic.

that is the point ...we don't have to accept this and should voice out our opinions in every possible way we can...we should voice it out in every social network ...in every forum we are a part of...every women rights forum...I mean every possible way we can. I work in a domestic violence shelter and I interact with women on a daily basis. Indian women go through the same thing sitting here in US. Indian men get away because the women don't speak up...they are scared of social stigma. ...for this to change women needs to be financially independent.
