I think it boils down to any sorta precaution one can use. Use of phone doesn't have to be the ultimate defense just the way a knife or pepper spray or even a gun isn't. Even the latter can be manhandled by the goons and it won't be of any use. In the end, it is about how many goons you are dealing with and your luck by chance. So it isn't about technicalities of who is on the other side of the phone, but a matter of using anything one has as an element of protection.

Din't I already say that I would be on the phone with someone I know and trust, so that if anything adverse happens the person on the other side is aware of my whereabouts and would not wake up hours later to realize that I am missing. Talking to a stranger on the phone while you are out is a stupidity, I would call my mom or my close friend if I were to travel alone in a shady area.

No, not really. But I'd rather go with your news, cuz their TRPs struggled to make it big 'til the last breath. The show never got the recognition it aimed for.

i find it very disgusting of some pervert guys who get into crammed buses with a purpose that they would rake their errected penis on girl's back. may be you do not believe me what i am saying but this is true- once about four years ago, i was travelling by a crammed bus to my college; in that bus, i witnessed a guy and girl, girl was sitting on corner of seat while guy was standing just behind her (both were unknown to each other), that guy was constantly staring at that girl, and later he got so much excited that he errected his penis and started raking/pushing his errected penis on girl's shoulder. what i saw further was that girl did not say anything to him. dunno why? may be she felt embarrassment telling people what was that guy doing? i really got so much angry at the act that guy was doing that time. i even wanted to slap him but stopped myself thinking this- that guy can do anything with me as well.
