Chapter 49

'Geet I think I should keep myself away from Mannat' Maan stopped Geet outside kids room

'But why?' surprised she said

'She is too young to understand things.Even I think this is not right time. It gonna put just extra burden on her mind.Her mind should be calm before this major procedure .She is angry on me let her be.Let kids come out of hard times.Every thing ll turn okey' cupping her face he said.

'Ya what you are saying that is also right.But she will defiantly question me why Rehaan is here ? I don't have any answer for that...Because I can't tell her any thing right now.'

'Just tell her that Rehaan has fever.Make her sleep so that she can't talk with Rehaan.Even he doesn't know that we have to hide things from Mannat .In morning I will talk to him.You are right he has patience like you.Which Mannat don have' he smiled thinking about Mannat's behavior which was exactly like him

'Okey...But you should also take some rest.Around 10 Mannat Doctors will take Mannat first to operation theater and in the evening Rehaan.We have long way to go.' An unknown fear came to her eyes

''Main hu na .Kyo darr rahi ho.? Geet I realized true meaning of relations when I found my son fighting for own self.I have money but I couldn't buy a life for him.Money with which I tried to buy a relation to tag myself as father.' Making fun of own a fade smile came to his lips due to the foolishness he had shown till now ' But this time money worth nothing instead of that the outcome of same money an unknown relation assured me that my boy will be back to life.Ya it is other thing that unknown relation was my own relation in front of me but I never realized its presence due to darkness around me.'' He dared to admit this grabbing Geet tight in his arms

'Maan plz don repeat things.We can't change past but can try to make our future better.Its too late plz take some rest' She rolled hand over his cheek to bring him lil bit out of guilt.

He nodded his head giving silent approval to her and leaves..Geet entered room where Nandini was sill there sitting next to Mannat on bed.Rehaan was in deep sleep where Mannat she was still dozing waiting for her Mommi

'Momi why you get so late ?' suddenly Mannat became alert with her mother's presence and yelled 'Maan Uncle ne fir se to fight ne ki ? ' she got up on bed

'shawww tone down baby Rehaan is seeping' she placed her finger on own lips asking Mannat to keep silence.

'Shawww Mannat forget.Sorry Momi ' Mannat covered her mouth with hands giving expression of surprise

'Okey now try to sleep.Dekho Rehaan so raha hai' she forcible made her lay on bed

' Momi why we r here?..Only sick people come to hospital . Momi hamare to sabke medical test hue hai.We all r fine.But why Rehaan is here ' she tried to get up jerking Geet's arms

'Mannat don't do this.Try to sleep.Rehaan has fever so he is here.Jaise he Momi ko pata challa momi yahan aa gayi.Rehaan needs momi .Nandu masi called Momi that u r missing me.I called her to bring u here' she cupped lil gir's face to make her agree 'Maan uncle ne mere sath fight nahi ki.Even he promised me that he will never fight.'

'Sachi.Nani says if some one does wrong .We should forgive once to let that person be good.You forgave Maan uncle once.I will also.But not after this.If he ll again fight we gonna take Rehaan with us.Right Momi' saying this she grinned ear to ear looking once at Rehaan and than Geet

'Sure baby ' she hugged her tightly thinking about what gonna happen

'Nandu u too take some rest.Sofa per so jayo.Main isko sulla du'

'Ji Didi' Nandini has felt the pain inside Geet but she said nothing.

The night was over and the day which was going to decide the destiny of kids was in front of all . Daddi Maa Handas every one was shocked to know about the bond they share with each other.They were happy especially Handas at least now their daughter has no fear to loose her daughter instead of this she has got her son..father to her daughter back.But this happiness mattered nothing untill kids were under danger.

Without waiting to let Mannat awake around 9: 30 doctor gave her injection for general anesthesia .Examined her every thing was fine she was ready to go under procedure.

'Maan meri bachi to so rahi hai.Even doctor ne uske uthen ki bhi wait nahi ki..' tears rolled down to her cheeks looking at her unconscious daughter

'Geet they were helpless.What might have Mannat's reaction to find herself under needle doctor was worried so he took this decision. Don worry Mannat will be alrite' he consoled her tightening his grip around her

'Kush nahi hoga Mannat ko beta.She is a fighter.Stubborn like her Papa. She has great will power.' Daddi rolled her hand over her back

After three hour long procedure doctors gathered required amount of fluid from her lower back.But even after 5 hours of procedure she was still unconscious This may be a normal procedure for doctors but for a five year old this was not that easy

'Doctor why my daughter is still unconscious ? ' Maan jumped at doctor in his cabin

'Mr Khuraana she is just a child and she wil take lil more time to come out of this.Don't worry she will be alright.Its already three and around four Rehaan ka bone marrow transplant hai.I have to look after preparations .So plz excuse me ' He left saying this

'Rehaan's bone marrow transplant.I m waiting for the moment but what about my daughter.I have done so much wrong with her.Plz god don do more wrong now..' he had been totally shattered but controlled himself for Geet for family.Wiped his tears and came out of cabin.

'Maan what doctor said.Bollo na.Why Mannat is still unconscious' Geet grabbed Maan from collars outside operation theater where doctors had already shifted Rehaan resisting his emotions he consoled her.

'No Maan I know you very well.Your words are not supporting yourself.I haven't seen such Maan.Plz tell me what doctor said.I have enough courage' saying this she reduced to tears putting her arms around his waist.

'Sachi Doctor said same.But I m really worried Geet.M feeling something strange.Both kids are suffering. First I was just worried about Rehaan but now Mannat.' looking at red light outside OT he said.

'Maan beta trust almighty. Jis ne adhure(incomplete) rishton ko pura kiya hai now he will take care of both kids.' Rano consoled Maan.

'Ji Maa u r right.If almighty can change a person like me.He can do every thing aur mere masoom bache unka to koi kasoor nahi hai..Agar kush galat kiya hai to sirf maine.' wetness of his eyes was enough to prove how much in pain he was

'Maan let it go beta.Aab to Rehaan ka transplant theek ho jaaye.Yahi umeed hai.Aur dekhna Mannat ko bhi hosh aa jaaega tab takk' Rano sighed and nodded her head

'Rano you are absolutely right.Wait and watch both kids gonna be alright Nandini told me that Mannat wants to take Rehaan with her to Handa house so to teach Maan a lesson. Sach main Maan deserves this punishment and I will send Rehaan with Mannat.' Daddi tired to bring little bit lightness around .

But every one had a fade smile on their face.Handas and Khuraanas all of them restless were roaming around in between ICU where Mannat was and operation theater where Rehaan was.After three hour long procedure OT light turned green but no improvement in Mannat's condition every passing hour. Even Dr Verma assistant to Dr Khanna was worried.But he was waiting for Dr Khanna who was in OT for Rehaan's treatment.

'Congrats transplant is successful. Rehaan is out of danger.' Dr Khanna came out of OT with this good news.

'Dr. hum mil sakte hai usse.Wo hosh main to hain na' overwhelmed Geet questioned.

'Not now let him shift from OT.He is unconscious.'

'He is also unconscious .Mannat is also unconscious doctor its about 10 hours.But your juniors have no satisfactory answer for her condition.' At last Maan lost his patience

'Plz Mr Khuraana control yourself.Let me check her first.Her procedure was also successful there was no problem.'

'But why she is not back to senses ? ' Geet yelled

'Geet betay calm down relax .Is haalat main apko apna khyal rakhna chaahea' Daddi grabbed Geet from back

'Daddi Maa kaise relax hoyu.When my kids r fighting for life.Rehaan he is also unconscious. My heart is sinking.'

Before Daddi could say any thing .Ward boys brought Rehaan out of OT to shift him to ICU .

'Rehaan mera bacha.Beta dekho Momi ko.Momi is here.I kept my promise baby to be with you' Geet scrammed holding Rehaan's hand running side wise his stretcher

'Madam plz let us shift to ICU.Aap piche hatt jaaea' Nurse said

'Why I m his mother.Why should I ?' she yelled at nurse.

'Geet let them take Rehaan to room.Hosh main aa jaaye fir jitni baat karni hai kar lena' Maan grabbed her from behind and staff took Rehaan toward ICU.

'Maan Rehaan hosh main aa jaaega na.Mannat ko to abhi takk nahi aaya.'

'Geet dono ko hosh aaega.Unko dekhna hai na that their momi kept her promise.Don worry'

In Dr Khanna's cabin.

Nandini fuming attacked Dr Khanna

'Dr Khanna you can give false assurance to my sister Geet and Mr Khuraana but not to me.There is some thing to worried about .Tell me what's that why Mannat is still unconscious.'

'Dr Nandini you are right as a doctor...I can't hide things from you...Dr Verma did Mannat's tests.While doing procedure one needle punctured her wrong vein.That was slight but due to direct attachment with back bone uske nerves system per effect hua hai.' he said in low tone.He knew its was his fault some where

'Oh it means general anesthesia ki wajah se wo unconscious nahi ..Coma main hai.You know doctor what it means.First you needed not to let her awake from sleep .Usko general anesthesia de diya.Now you put her life at danger.Show me reports' she snatched reports from him

Going through reports she rooted to spot.'Dr she is critical'

'Dr Nandini plz keep this in between us..I will do my best ' he begged

'Dr Mannat is in danger.How dared you to put my child's life at risk' Maan over heard convo and grabbed doctor from neck

'Jiju plz for Didi's sake calm down.We can't let her know that Mannat is critical .'

'I gonna take my kids from here.I can't trust Dr Khanna more' Maan was out of control

'Jiju unwillingly we have to keep kids here.Becoz how much he knows about this case it is really hard for any other doctor to cover up such soon.Even when we can arrange best out of best surgeon ' Nandini grabbed Maan's wrist and dragged him toward door to make him understand situation

'Nandu I have done very wrong with my daughter now when I want to repent.god put her in such danger .If possible I m ready to bear every suffering my kids r going through .But ask god to give my daughter back to me'

'Mr Khuraana plz trust me.I will do my best to bring back your daughter out of coma' Dr tried to assure him

'I can't trust you doctor but I don't have any other option..But keep this in mind for every thing ony you are responsible and what can I do with you ' warning doctor he left room

Nandini stayed there to discuss what can be done know.For how many hours it was possible to hide things from Geet and whole family. Rehaan get back his consciousness within two hours but Mannat she was still in same condition. His condition was totally stable .At last Maan disclosed every fact in front of whole family.

'No Maan no meri Mannat ...How she can be critical. Wo to keh rahi thi Momi only sick people came to hospital and we r fine..then why doctor saying she is critical.' she screamed

'Geet you are pregnant..Too much stress is not good for you.'

'Stress not good for me.Maan I think you accepted her becoz she is your daughter but not from heart. Otherwise aap aisa na kehte'

'Geet are you mad...Kya bakk raki ho...I haven't accepted her...Wo meri beti na bhi hoti to bhi main usko utna he pyar karta jitna Rehaan se karta hu.I never rejected her.Jo meri mentality thi wo mujhe admit nahi karne de rahi thi...Mannat ko main kal bhi utna he pyar karta tha jitna aaj yeh jaan kar k wo meri beti hai...As a father this is my responsibility to take care of my three kids...So I am asking you to take care of our unborn child.For Rehaan and Mannat I m here.Trust me Geet.' he tired to make her understand. Geet she was still looking in his eyes .Should she trust him...?

'Kya main aap per trust kar lu'

'Ha you have to trust me.Mannat ko mujhe de do.Uske 'Mere Papa Maan' ko .'Mannat k 'Mere Papa Maan' per tum trust kar sakti ho.' he cupped her face

'Mere Papa Maan'...jab usko uske 'Mere Papa Maan' mile to wo keh nahi sakti.Kya kismat hai meri bachi ki.'

'Wo kahegi kush nahi hoga.You beard alot Geet not any more.' Warmth of his arms some where assured Geet she is no alone now in her fight.

'Momi momi ' Geet ran inside room when she heard Rehaan calling her.

'Ha mera bacha kya hua.'

'Momi where is Mannat..Wo mujhe milne nahi aayi.Wo mujhe se phone per bhi baat nahi karti ' pouting his lips he regrets

'She was here baby .But u was sleeping.Its too late wo bhi so rahi hai. She will come to meet you.' Geet had been totally shattered giving false hopes to her son.But had no option.

'Okey momi wo morning main aaegi ' he trust her more than any thing else

'Ha beta apki behan aaegi apse milne' Maan brushed his hair

Rehaan's eyes twinkled with this hope.As he was feeling too lonely in his fight He has every one around him but the relation both share no one could understand.Even not their parents.But now only they can hope for a miracle to happen.To get Mannat back.Most desperate was Maan to here 3 words from her.'Mere Papa Maan'. Destiny of this little girl always teased her not giving her this chance.Now what it plans for her has to wait.
