News came that on 17th December 2011 'Star One' will close its operation. Another news came that a new channel named 'Life OK' will replace the former & start its airing from 18th December 2011. Already I have been seeing promos of the shows that are going to be aired on the new channel on all Star network channel. One show really caught my attention. And that was 'Devon Ke Dev.. Mahadev !!' & I said to my mother, "Aai udya aapan hi serial first episode paasun pahu" i.e., "Mother tomorrow we will watch this serial from the first episode ."
Then 18th December 2011 came. Time :- 8:00 pm.. Me, my mother & my grandmother (all 3 generation of my family) sat down in front of TV leaving all the household chores including dinner. To my utter suprise😲 the first thing I listened was the title track 'Karpur Gauram Karunaavataram', the first thought that came to my mind was is this the same aarti of Lord Shiva which I daily say in front of God during Aarti ? Thank you😊 to the team of DKDM for this. Mouni Roy as Sati was a complete shock😲 to me as I have always seen her in daily soaps. Another question that arose😕 in my mind was, why her sisters calling her Sati? And the important thing, who is Sati? I remember asking my Aaji (grandmother)about this. And grandma answered all my queries that cleared my doubts. Another thanks😊 to the DKDM team. And the 3rd shock was a complete surprise package. MOHIT RAINA as MAHADEV 😲!!Last time I remember seeing him in Ganga Ki Dheej & Bandini. What a surprise package⭐️. His personality, his facial expressions just made him look like Lord Shiva. Kudos Mohit⭐️!!. He immediately found a place in my heart❤️. Mohit was the only reason for which I instantly got hooked to this show & decided that I will watch this show with true dedication & devotion. Truly became a fan of Mohit Raina & the serial from the very 1st episode.
The most touching😭 episode for me was the death of Sati. Mohit facial expressions were so perfect that I literally started crying😭 & for the rest of the week. The most trembling or may I say the most thrilling episode for me was Mahadeva assuming the terrible 'VEERBHADRA' form. What a performance👏!! Make-up perfect !! Expressions perfect !! That episode really got me to the edge of my seat, gave me goosebumps & I change the channel.
Another favorite mythological character of me in the serial is of Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu [in Balaji avatar] is our kuldevta & he has done justice to the Lord & to his role. How can I forget about Tarakasur (or we fondly call 'Takki') ! His acting was a notch up above every demon I have seen on television. He just surpassed everyone. A very special mention to our very own Prajapati Daksh played bu Surendar Pal. A caring father, a dotin husband & a complete Shiv virodhi😡. Ganga (Deepika Upadhya) I miss u a lot. Nandi (Kumar Hegde ) is my favorite too.
Next thing that was a complete shock 😲to all Mouni's fans was that Mouni is not going to play the role of Parvati & that she is going to be replaced by Sonarika Bhadoria aka Abhilasha of 'Tum Den Saath Mera' fame. My heart sank💔 as I was not going to see Mouni but also on the other hand there was also excitement in my heart filled with many questions like how will she do justice to the role offered to her? Will she able to match DKDM standards? And YES! She was the right & perfect choice👏. She answered all her critics & passed with flying colors. Although it took some time for me to accept her as Parvati, but steadily she found a place in my heart❤️. Her best performance according to me was the power-packed act of killing the demon 'Mahishasur'. Her dialogue delivery & expressions were so perfect that I literally bowed down before her. Another surprise😲 was the entry of 'Ashok Sundari' a name that I have never heard of. Thank you to the team of DKDM😊 for giving this information. A debate came to my mind that who is elder son of Mahadev-Parvati, Kartikeya or Ganpati Bappa? Here also DKDM answered all my doubts. Rushiraj Pawar mesmerized me & our very own Ganpati Bappa played by Sadhil Kapoor is a cute choice😃. I am just in praise for this serial⭐️.
And now coming to the main point. The things that I have learnt from this show with this 1 year journey.It follows:-
- We should never give up. Always work hard & be persistent. I know that I'm not a Treekaldarshi like Lord Shiva but keeping the above line in my mind I will work hard & become a successful engineer & will pass with good marks.
- I have seen a positive change in attitude, personality & behavoir. I've started thinking deeply & just like Lord Shiva I do meditation [occasionally] that helped me contrl my anger.
- The most important thing that I've seen & learnt from this show is the definition of 'TRUE & ETERNAL LOVE' that each & every person searches in his life. MAHADEV-PARVATI is an example to our young generation.
- I have also started fasting. I fast every Monday with a hope that Lord Shiva may invite me for his yatras (like Naagdwar [Pachmarhi], Amarnath, Kailash-Mansarovar)etc,.
Lastly I just want 2 thanks Minaxi [mnx12] for that lovely writing competition 'DKDM for me'. Even though my post was not selected I do not have any complaints. Sincere thank you😊 to the development team members like Shruti, Minaxi & everbody for making this forum so interesting & lively. Sorry😭 if I have forgotten some names. May this serial touch new heights in the coming years & Lord Shiva shower his blessings on Mohit. Concluding by saying this :-
