I'm doing accounting and finance double major now and honestly this shifting from trial balance to balance sheet just sucks big time.. Everything is perfect until you miss by $100 or less and you have to redo and recheck. The worst is company consolidation which I learnt last semester. I nearly cried my eyes out but THANK GOODNESS i managed to balance it in my finals. I nearly peed in my pants when I was doing it.. I seriously dunno how you're an auditor for Companies @akui1984... I salute you for that. This whole consolidation thing gives me nightmares.

@sheema_rajoo - Oh no...Hmmm...I love looking at numbers and analysing them! And you know what - when it comes to the Companies, they use system so you do not have to manually add and deduct which may result in errors...So the trial balance will balance at the end of the day! And consolidation aint as complicated as the textbooks...honestly, as auditors, we normally have certain audit procedures to follow and we can refer to prior year documentation so trust me aint that bad...I only HATE the hours...I do not know if you are aware but auditors do work very late esp when it comes to reporting deadlines! Good luck with school!

Oh I absolutely love numbers that's why my favourite subject is Investment Analysis and Investment Portfolio.. I can go on and on analysing the stock market and all the ratios. Just LOVE it to the max. Thank goodness for technology that we don't have to do the balancing manually. Yes I know about the hours. I have a friend working at KPMG and she nearly died working from 8am to 2am/3am between december to february. I was freaking out seeing her condition but yes that is life.. Full of challenges and she prevailed and somehow got adjusted to it. The adjustment period was really difficult but after that everything went ok. Thank you, another 1.5 years to go and I'm done..😊
