"Arnav Arnav" cried the girl, her face covered with tears, while waving to the boy.
"Khushi! I beg you, Khushi, do not leave me! Do not leave me here! "
He shouted, chasing the man who was taking her best friend. He began to run along the corridors, but suddenly a door opened and was grabbed by the arm.
"Stop crying, kid. Now go back inside and don't care about that witch." Said his father, if he could call him that.
" Do not you dare talk about her like that! Not even pronounce hername in my presence! " He cried back, and then get rid of close and rush down the stairs, taking the steps two at a time. In the distance there was still the cries of the girl. They could not, could not take heraway! Just arrived in the lobby, he saw that they were loading her, almost by force, in a car and she, her Khushi, kept crying and squirming.
Perhaps if he moved fast, he was still time to get her out of there, but while he ran to the gate, he tripped over a brick broken and fell to the ground, hitting his head and losing consciousness for a few moments. When he was able to refocus, the car was gone, but he could not give up, he would not give up. His legs moved, but, unfortunately, when he arrived in the street, he found it deserted.
It was too late.
With difficulty, he dragged himself back inside and then to the top floor of this huge and ugly barracks, where both lived. When he arrived at the corridor, he saw that the door of the house of the girl was still there, the TV on, with the volume up, and her parents had not even noticed that social workers took her away.
He came up to '"apartment" after her, and opened the door with a kick. As he walked to his room, he heard screams coming from a room, probably the animal was again beating his mother, but that day he had not the strength to stop him, not today. Once in his room, he closed the door and went to take refuge in their corner, the one where he and Khushi, huddled hugged to try to escape the realities around them. They were able to open a gap in the wall, that was plasterboard, and to link their rooms, so in order to be always together. But that night, he could not find peace even there.
He raised his eyes to heaven: it was overshadowed by lamplight and you could not even see the moon. Suddenly, a shooting star across the sky and he could not resist the urge to make a wish.
He asked that he want back his heart, want back his Khushi. He slumped exhausted against the wall and began to cry silently.
He was twelve years old and he had no desire to live.
