She didn't even know when has drifted off to sleep.. thinking about him. For the 1^st time in years.. she slept peacefully.. with no fear or pain in her heart!

Geet woke up with a cozy warm feeling and peeped out of the window. It was misty… very slightly though! And then her eyes fell on a certain somebody again sitting on the swing in the garden!!! His favorite place!! Her face instantly lit up…ahh what a perfect beginning of a perfect day!!! She kept looking at him for a few minutes.. and then she realized he was looking at her too… smiling! Ohh boy.. she slipped once again! She pulled the curtains closer and shook her head.

"Geet.. kya kar rahi hain tu? Go and freshen up!" she smacked her head and headed to the washroom.

[Geet what are you doing? Go and freshen up!]

She get ready and headed towards the dining hall. Maan was already there with the kids. She was amused to see them all ready and set to leave for school!!

Geet: oyee.. how come you all got ready all so quickly? And that too all alone?

Maan shoved a spoonful of cornflakes soaked in milk into dia's mouth, "Geet… if you take so much time to wake up… then someone has to help them out right!"

She raised an eyebrow on him, "don't tell me you helped them!!"

"why whats wrong in that?"

Dadima smiled at both of them but kept quiet. She was happy to see them behaving normally…especially after an eventful Sunday!! she had already told everything to roops and roops to jasmeet!!! At first jasmeet was angry at roops and dadima for stalking them but then she couldn't stop feeling happy.

"nahi.. I was wondering how come you managed to find time from your so called hectic schedule for all this?"

"are you taunting me?", he twitched his brows on her. and probably he hadn't realized how much he had opened up to her.

"ohh no.. me and taunting the great Maan singh khurana??? Are you out of your mind?" she kept her face serious, sitting beside dadima and serving herself!!

Maan kept quiet.. Geet was being too much.. but he kept his calm infront of kids. He will definitely take his revenge on her!!! he quietly finished with his breakfast and walked out. Dia and namra kissed Geet on either side of her cheeks and ran away. And the moment he was out, dadima burst out laughing!! Geet looked at her from the corner of her eyes.

"seriously Geet… aap na… you don't leave a chance to taunt him!!!"

Geet laughed too, "what can I do dadima… khadoos ko smile bhi tho karna nahi aata na!!! usko dekh kar hi I dunno why mujhe usko pareshaan karne ka bahut mann karta hain!!"

[what can I do dadima… khadoos doesn't even know how to smile! I dunno why but whenever I see him I feel like irritating him]

At this dadima laughed louder and patted her cheeks, "am sure he'll see your love one day beta…. Just be like this.. your own self.. humesha!!!"

Geet smiled.. she knew dadima will always support her no matter what! So that makes things easier now. Suddenly she got a call from roops. She was frantic.

Roops: Geet… meet me at xyz mall..NOW!

Geet: roops.. you okay? Kuch hua hain kya?

[roops you okay? Did something happen?]

Roops: pehle tu aa yahan.. phir batati hun!! Abhi ke abhi!!!

[ first you come here.. then I'll tell you!! Now!]

Geet got worried hearing roops like that. She took permission from dadima.. any ways things were going smooth.. at least now. She was a little at peace and there was nothing much to do. She took the keys and ran out. She met up with roops in a posh caf in the mall. She looked normal.. okay.. but her expressions were unreadable. She shook her to grab her attention!

Geet: oyee ki hoya? Tunhe itni urgently mujhe kyun bulaya yahan? All okay na?

[oyee what happened? Why did you call me so urgently? All okay naa?]

Roops gave a wide smile and hugged her, "ji han meri mrs Geet khurana… ab tho sab okay hain.. kyun hain na!!!", she winked at her.

[yes mrs Geet khurana.. now everything's okay.. right!]

Geet realized its double meaning, knowing very well that daidma must have told her everything!!! She didn't even realise when a layer of redness settled on her cheeks!!!

"oyee hoyee blushy mushy…. Whats going on hmm?"

"shut up roops… theres nothing! And why did you call me here you idiot?"

Roops bit her tongue, "ohh teri… mein tho bhool hi gayi thi.. actually I wanted you to meet someone!!!"

[ohh no.. I had completely forgotten it… actually I wanted you to meet someone]

"who? And why?"

"just shut up and close your eyes! I bet you'll be surprised big time!"

"what is it roops?"

"arrey close your eyes first naa!!", saying so, roops put her hands over her eyes and gestured something to someone. Then she turned Geet around and asked her to open her eyes slowly! It took her some time to recognize…but when she did, there was no limit to her surprise…. And she screamed, "OH-MY-GOD…RASHMIII…………"

And the next moment she was hugging her madly… like anything. Rashmi had been her college friend since her 2^nd year and the trio were very close too… they were actually inseparable in college and outside too!! And after moving away from Delhi, she had lost contact with everyone… every single person!! And seeing her in front of her today…it just brought back so many memories and tears!!!!

Rashmi saw her wet cheeks and teased, "OH my god..geet handa can cry too????"

Roops intervened, "raashu, ab tho coorectly bol de…its Geet khurana…."

[raashu at least now say correctly, its Geet khurana…]

"ohh sorry my bad!!! So mrs Geet khurana…you seemed to have forgotten me in these years… tu kahan marr gayi thi itne saal?"

Geet was so overwhelmed with emotions…she could hardly speak anything. She was so so so happy to get back to her old life, though slowly, but she had missed it!!!! She just didn't reply and hugged her once again!

"hey hey… ab itna senti mat ho yaar… chal tujhe ek ice cream khilati hun..", rashmi tried to cheer her up.

[hey hey don't get so senti…come on I'll treat you with an ice cream!]

As the girls settled down with their favourites, talking all about their college and how much they still miss it, Geet popped the question, "tu bata…hows your life? And how did you know about me…"

Rashmi cut her off, "I have seen that madness in you Geet.. since the very beginning! It was a shock that he married anisha… come to think of it.. we had even placed our bet on it…. And with roops around, you needn't worry about communication gap!!"

She winked at roops who slapped rashmi's hand, "oyee now you tell me why did you call us so urgently?"

They saw rashmi go silent for a while… and then a light hue of red settles on her cheeks!!!

"don't tell me you are blushing now…are you?", Geet chimed!!!

"wo…i..umm..actually, " rashmi fumbled, "umm my marriage is fixed!!!"

Both their mouths dropped open, "what!!!"

Rashmi looked at both the girls..gaping at her like they had seen some kind of ghost!!!!

"hey hey..stop looking at me like that!!!! Any ways…my engagement is over!!"

"double WHAT!!!!", both of them screamed in unison!!!

It took them some time to compose themselves and poor rashmi had to bear their wrath for not telling them about her engagement.

She pouted cutely, "ab mein kya karti? Sab itni jaldi jaldi hua.. he had to leave for the UK…aur.. aur you stupid people were not in contact!! Wo tho am lucky that I saw roops at my office for some reasons….warna you people…"

And the next momwnt she was mercilessly thrown into a sea of questions, the 1^st beng, "whats his name???", "how did you meet?, "love or arranged?", "introduce him to us..now…" and so on!!!!

Rashmi sighed, " relax relax… don't behave like despo okay!! His name is Puneet…and we met when I was back home for holidays in my 4^th year,..coincidentally we worked in the same office for a year too….."

It was around 1pm in the afternoon when Geet realized she had to be home!! Before she left, rashmi handed her wedding invitation!!!! Geet was so happy for her friend…. But again her mind went back to Maan… will he go? Most importantly, will he go if he asked her to? She had missed so much… at least she didn't want to miss anything now!!! How will she ask him? It was tough to pretend…. And it was tougher to hold on to that pretense in front of him!!!

Rashmi squeezed her hand, "relax Geet…I know everything!!! And to your relief, I have been to Maan's office with puneet and invited him personally too!!! Am sure he will come!!!"

Geet was sooo touched… its really tough to get friends like this who'd know her inside out this well…..she hugged rashmi once again!!!

Roops narrows her brows, "oyee wait wait…you went to Maan's office with puneet?"

"yes yes I did…"

"when?"

"before coming here…."

"then where is puneet?"

"ohh he is gone! He got some call..so he dropped me here..and went back to his office…"

"he was supposed to be in the UK right??"

Rashmi rolled her eyes, "stop your Geet-roops inquisition okay!! Stupid shaadi hain tho wont he come back to india??? Or do you expect us to get married with me in india and he In the uk taking pheras…"

Geet waited for him to return… she wasn't sure if he'd go or not! Though marriage was 2 weeks away, rashmi had strictly ordered her to be at the venue a week before the main event!! She saw Maan walk into the all, talking to someone on the phone!! He looked angry..probably disturbed. She sighed and got back to the kids.

Dinner was quiet with Maan's bad temper. Even dia and namra were quiet. Geet kept stealing glancing at him from time to time…dying to tell him about rashmi. She was sooo excited about all this but seeing the MSK temper..she just shut up!!! She fiddled with her spoon, clanking it on the porcelain plate and again looked at him!!!! He was expressionless as usual…! She sighed and looked down when she heard his firm voice, "you are distracting…"

She twisted her lips and mimicked him in her mind, "you are distracting.. does he love this line so much?"

"Geet…."

He looked at her, amused seeing her spacing out like that!!!

"Geet…" he was louder… and when she didn't respond, he shouted, "Geet… where are you lost?"

She jumped at his voice and the spoon fell off her hands, "shhh… don't scare the kids..", she blurted out!!

Maan rolled his eyes, seeing dia and namra giggle, "is there anything you want to talk about?"

Her subconscious shouted again, "ohh we have another of his fav lines!"

"umm…er….i was thinking about …."

"speak Geet… what has happened to you?"

"umm… wo rashmi's marriage….we should go…I mean…", she stopped seeing that expression on his face. It was not firm but it had some kind of an unknown pain. Before she could say anything, he excused himself and got back to his room, leaving her to ponder over things that made him upset.

She looked at dadima who shook her head in denial. She thought of going to him..but then stopped fearing the backlash. She couldn't sleep the whole night.. how could she when she knew very well that probably he wouldn't have slept at all!! And finally when she couldn't, she decided to take a walk. It was already 00:30am and she walked out towards the hall… when she saw the lights on, again!! He was probably working again!! She went quietly and saw him working on his laptop and a fat file in one hand.

Maan heard faint footsteps coming towards him. He looked up to see Geet beside him, holding two mugs of coffee, extending one to him!

"coffee??"

"umm…thanks.." he took his from her and she made herself comfy beside him!

"lot of work?"

He took a long breath, "distraction Geet…."

She kept quiet for sometime..silence prevailed.. the sound of sipping their coffee echoed though out and his occasional hitting the keyboard.

"you didn't sleep?" he asked her without looking away from his laptop.

"umm..distraction Maan…."

He smiled…ghost of a smile it was..but he did!

"so all set for the job?"

"umm I'll be joining the next month…"

"why don't you join my office then?"

For a moment she didn't believe her ears..did he really make that offer?

"your office? Are you serious?"

"of course I am….there is a vacancy for an executive personnel…. And you have the whole month free… and your records are like wow…"

All this while his eyes were fixed on the laptop. she wondered at his ability to multitask!!! She went quiet for a moment!!

"are you considering it?"

"umm..no… just thinking…"

"like what? I don't have the power to read minds you see…"

She realized from his talks that he was someone else she was talking to right now… completely different than the Maan she knew… someone more mature.. not the fun loving guy she had known…but a person with a deep sense of responsibility on his shoulders… someone who was completely a mystery to her.. very deep within…his talks…his choice of words, everything has changed..more of an experienced person it felt!!! And why wouldn't it… she had missed him grow in these 5years…and she realized she was speaking the 'Maan singh khurana' right now…someone way beyond her Maan!
