Now I feel confident that the kids' track is going somewhere because things, with Ansh especially, unfolded exactly as I predicted. The same Ansh who had learned discipline and obedience, stemming essentially from trust in Yash's authority, is now flouting Aarti's and trying to get his way. It is interesting that the five-more-minute thing was Aarti's trick before this PV, the way she used to negotiate with Ansh, and now he is turning it on her. Negotiation happens between equals and that is how Ansh has begun to see himself once more.
This secret relationship with his friend-uncle and the responsibility of hiding it from his papa is making Ansh feel all grown up again and making him resent authority. If you want kids to act like kids and be innocent and mindful, you have to treat them like kids and not burden them with adult responsibilities. Aarti is being inconsistent here in her treatment of Ansh. On the one hand she is putting the whole BMT thing on his shoulders, and instead of reassuring him, she showed him how frantic she was about the prospect, causing Ansh to reassure her instead when they were at the hospital. On the other hand, she is confused about why he is giving her grief and not obeying her as she has gotten used to him doing in the last few months.
It is in these very inconsistencies that Aarti is showing that Prashant squeezes himself, be it with Yash or Ansh. In front of both of them, he plays on Aarti's unexpectedly strong reactions to seem like the misunderstood bystander, and to make Aarti seem like the guilty party. Even though I would love to see Yash deck Prashant, his way is better. He is killing the foundations for Prashant's malice by refusing to doubt Aarti or Prashant. How is Prashant supposed to do guerrilla warfare in an open field? Still, until Aarti tells Yash the truth, she is allowing Prashant to hold her life in his hands and play with it willy-nilly.
How cute was Yash, sitting in the cafe, mugging for hours? He looked like a schoolboy, cramming for an exam! And the way he pumped his fist when he got it! AWWW!!! But it was pretty symbolic that Aarti recited the poetry for him. She gives form to his feelings, words to his emotions and he revels in watching her do so easily what is so hard for him. And yet, like Prateek said, no proxy is going to make Yash come out with his feelings. The truth is that at this moment he fears Aarti's judgment and derision because he sees her as so much superior to him in matters of the heart, so much wiser and more well-versed. All those inhibitions will be gone in a situation when Aarti is truly vulnerable and her soul is totally exposed without any lies or any projections. The words will come to Yash then, I am pretty certain.
