Virat did not know what to do. He saw her slouching against the wall and gradually crumbling onto the floor in a sitting position, crying uncontrollably. He looked as if someone just put a bullet in him, shocked at the horrid truth he had just heard; he now knew what she meant by her father abandoning her in the 'cruel' world. Virat sat beside her, put his arm around her very cautiously, fully expecting her to push him away again. She however, to his surprise, let him in, rested her head on his chest and continued sobbing like a baby gasping for air at regular intervals. He did not say a single word to console her as he knew that she had never revealed this part of her past to any other living soul until then and, he wanted her to unburden all these memories to her heart's content. He slowly held her face with other hand and lifted it to face him.

Virat: "Manvi, as long I live, nobody will as much lay their hand on you. I promise you that."

Manvi looked at him and that was when the realization of what she just revealed hit her. She looked down as he carried her back to her bed. "You are resting here tonight. I will take you home tomorrow morning" he ordered. She complied and just closed her eyes. He put a blanket over her, sat beside her and took her hand in his as she drifted into a peaceful slumber; she has never felt safer in her life.

Viren and Jeevika called him back after the pooja and he told them everything about what happened in the morning. They came running to the hospital and were shocked at what happened. Jeevika asked Viren and Virat to leave and that she will stay there with Manvi for the night. Viren left making sure everything was alright and that he will return to pick them up the following morning. Virat refused to move an inch from there; he explained that he was partly responsible for what happened and he will not be at peace unless he knows that Manvi is fine. Jeevika noticed the stern expressions on Virat's face and tried to cheer him up a little with no success. "Virat, it's not your fault, Manvi acts childish sometimes, she does not listen to anyone."

Virat: "ITS NOT HER FAULT BHABHI" he replied so strongly that Jeevika was taken aback.

Virat excused himself to go to the restroom. He was in front of the mirror; he was looking but he did'nt see himself. All that reeled in front of his eyes was the heart-wrenching truth that was just revealed to him; he was filled with anger and rage "How could that animal do that to her, maasooom si bacchi ke saaath aaisa kaise koi kar sakta hai??. Kya beethi hoga uss par. Her mom was no more and dad tha par nahi tha. Bolti bhi toh kisse bolti?? He was shaking with anger now, so much that he could not control anymore; he wanted to mince that brute of an uncle piece by piece..he had no control over his anger and he banged his fist into the mirror, badly cutting it. Dr. Manan just came in to see Virat in such a sorry state. He dragged him to his office, taped him up and tried to talk with him.

Dr. Manan: "Virat? ho kya gaya? Kis par itna gussa??"

Virat had composed himself a little bit now: "Kuch nahi yaar, I just came to know of a very ghastly incident that happened with my friend. I wish I was there to protect her." He stated without any emotions and left his office.

Manvi woke up to find Jeevika sleeping next to her and Virat standing by the window, looking outside with a lost expression. She got herself up and started walking towards Virat who sees her and rushes to hold her.

Manvi: "Virat, I am fine, baby-sittting duty is over now and muje aur melo-drama nahi karni hai. Tum ko karna hai toh kahi aur ja kar karo. Aur tum ne di ko kyu bulaya??" she said looking towards Jeevika.

Virat smiled: "I had to tell them something."

Manvi: "What happened to your hand?"

Virat: "Sprain hogaya hai, tum ko uttane ke baad, Ms. heavy weight" teasing her.

Manvi eyed him seriously but kept quiet understanding.

Jeevika woke up and Viren brought some coffee for all of them. Glad to find Manvi was feeling normal, all of them left together to go home.
