Swetta Keswani is known to be a free spirit. Ask her a questionand she won't hesitate to come up with an honest reply. Recently, there was a buzz surrounding a hush-hush engagement with her long time boyfriend Alex O'Neill.

The couple has been dating for more than a year and is a regular at social gatherings. A source close to Swetta spilled the beans. "There is no denying the fact that Swetta and Alex are in love. She doesn't like to talk about her relationship, but we know that Alex is the only guy in her life."

When quizzed about the engagement news, the friend said, "Yes, they have recently gotten engaged. But there was no ceremony as such. Alex just slipped a ring into her finger one fine day. She was totally taken aback, and thrilled to bits."

Swetta hasn't yet broken the happy news to her near and dear ones, as she prefers to let some time pass before that. There were talks that the actress had got engaged in a private ceremony a year ago. Rubbishing these reports, the friend said, "She didn't know him so well then. They have recently gotten really close to each other, and realised they are made for each other. Also, Alex comes from a totally different culture and background. She didn't want to freak him out or even think about asking for a commitment. They both love socialising, partying, and basically respecting their own space."

We called Swetta to confirm the engagement news. Hesitating and refusing to reveal more than she wanted to, she safely said, "Yes, I am in love with Alex. We are very close and I don't deny there is an engagement on the cards. I prefer keeping my personal details to myself."

When did they meet each other? "We met two years back. I got introduced to him through a common friend. As time passed, we realised both of us had very similar interests — traveling, reading and watching movies. I enjoy his company and think he's a gem of a person." Alex is an American who has worked in a couple of television advertisements, and also done ramp and print modeling. Recently, he has done an interesting role in film titled Chini Kum along with Tabu and Amitabh Bachchan.
