Starting from the first Indu has hatredness towards rishi, so one more blame? May be she don't even think of blaming shweta and she don't want her to become wrong. So she might not asked the question, I think.

Still, they shd not have shown Indu too arrogant with her father?

See the justification which gave Rishi has two sides.

First,he has taken all the blames of Shweta so that a mother is not being hated in her child's eyes.Its not good.It has a very bad impact on the kids,because if a mother is proved to be bad then a child can never believe on anyone.So Rishi did this and took the blame on himself.He didn't want indu to go through such complicated matters.

Secondly,if u see the other side,Rishi showed Shweta the difference between his and her mentality.He showed Shweta that whenever she had insecurity she used Indu against Rishi,poisoned her mind with those elderly matters,but Rishi didn't use that way to teach her a lesson.He could have easly told her the truth and could have given a lifetime punishment to Shweta through Indu and that is hatred.But he didn't do it.With this one act,Rishi showed how broad minded he is and how narrow-minded Shweta is.With this one act,he remained at the top and if Shweta has a minimum feeling of self-respect and if she understands it,she will never be able to meet her eyes in the mirror.
