Keeping up appearances. Isn't that what the Modis' tried doing to hide the fact that Ahem cannot be found from Gopi.. Isn't that what the whole family struggled to do the past 3 episodes?
In this situation there comes a time when the dam breaks, despair and the fear of the worst overwhelms you so much that you cannot stop yourself from lashing out and finally hurt the very person you were trying to protect. That is what happened today and before I go any further a big salute to the entire team for this track, and this episode. Not just the cast but for the person who envisioned this. It is so real, that you feel it is happening just in front of you. Hats off CVs and hats off to every team member 👏👏
The unsympathetic
Despair in a fellow human being usually triggers a sense of sympathy in most people. That is why we are humans. It need not be the case of someone you know. Don't you sympathize just one second for some unknown person who is hurt while reading the news?
But then there are those other categories of people who relish the macabre even when it is happening to people who are legally related to you.
Urmila... There is nothing incorrect in what Koki told her today. What is happening in MM is a gossip to her. She is enjoying it and relishing it but she complains because she is utterly unsympathetic. She cannot empathize either. How cruel.. She would not keep her mouth shut. Her every word disguised as concern drilled the hole deeper and deeper into two women who love Ahem the most, Gopi his wife and Kokila his mother. These two looked on as Urmila😡 broke them.. What was left after her was a mother who finally broke down for her son.. the son who is her life.. the son who may never return home.
It also left a wife, numb with grief and now totally devastated in what she already considered herself guilty. Kokila's words said in a rant, in distress, they pushed Gopi further into her misery and Gopi.. Gopi is just not in MM anymore. 😭
Atleast keep up an appearance of concern.. Isn't that what Rashi told Urmila.. Is that what Rashi is doing? Keeping up an appearance of concern and worry when she actually cares naught. I would like to think otherwise. I felt that she finally showed a concern for Gopi.. She does sympathize a bit with Gopi.. It is more like sympathizing with a victim you see on TV. There is no connect. So Rashi sympathizes not like a sister but as a third party.
It does not even matter. She tried to keep up the appearance of concern and Jigar for the first time saw through that. Yes. Rashi was not wrong in thanking Him for keeping Jigar safe but wasn't Ahem's safety now more important. She is not wrong for thanking God for Jigar but isn't she supposed to atleast wish for Ahem to return safely? What she told sounded like she thanked Him for taking Ahem as an alternate sacrifice and no wonder Jigar told her what he felt. Selfishness is fine but within a limit.
This is what happens when you actually just want to act sympathetic and are not really so. I wish I can convince myself that Rashi is really concerned. I wish I could. But all I see is her fear to 'appear concerned' and to keep up her act. She could have done better
But Urmi is right. Jigar will forget this once Ahem comes back. Rashi can be rest assured and so can Urmi😳
The Mother and the Wife:
She wanted Gopi to be Alright. Kokila was the mother during every minute of this episode except at the end she finally for the first time in this track put Ahem before Gopi, just for a few minutes as she broke and ranted with no control over her words. She lashed out, lashed out at Urmila and called her out for who she is and followed it by ranting to Gopi.. She broke finally.. All that was pent up in her heart, all that she hid to make sure that Gopi was not any more distressed than needed, all that came out and she hurt the very person she wanted to shield.
The last straw was Urmila's story. How will a mother be able to be quiet after that? Koki could not. But the seed was sown long back. It just started taking a stronghold as Gopi continued to rant and worry about Ahem.
You see Kokila's heart sinking as Gopi's words start to sink. Gopi is voicing what Koki cannot because she wants to be strong for Gopi. The premonitions that Gopi has, her fear, isn't that what Koki will be feeling too? Maybe more than Gopi. Koki reined it in seeing Gopi but with Urmila's cruel words, she could just not hold it in any longer.
I feel for this mom.. The mom who will be devastated tomorrow when she sees what her words have done to the girl she wanted so much to protect. 😭 Urmila Shah managed to devastate the entire family in a matter of a few minutes. She is not just shameless but highly remorseless😡
Finally Gopi. The horrified devastation in the kitchen where everyone still tries to convince her that Ahem will come back, that is of no use. Gopi is now sure. Every thing that is happening around her is increasing her fear. She does not know who to trust, what to believe. She knows in her heart that Ahem is not ok, but others ask her to believe otherwise.
She tells them that she fears for Ahem. She looks for signs in his falling photograph. Her confused, devastated state just peaked as Urmila had her say. Koki ended that confusion when she lashed out. What Gopi kept saying she feared, Koki confirmed as she ranted.
The end was typical Gopi. As the pieces fell in place atleast in her mind, she now is sure that she is the reason for Ahem's disappearance. In that same trail of thought she would also be sure that Ahem is in danger. Gopi feels responsible. So she will take responsibility. She is alone though. Didn't she just hear her maaji tell her that it is all her fault. I think for the first time after Kokila took her under her wings, Gopi is all alone in MM. Two people she feels the most secure with, Ahem and Koki are not there. I cannot imagine just how lonely that will be
** Today Jigar and Kokila both showed Rashi and Urmila the mirror. I do not know if it will have any effect. But I am glad someone did. Such callousness is unimaginable
** Kinjal actually is more sympathetic to Gopi than Rashi. Cannot Rashi see Gopi's pain?
** Aman is cleverly making the Modis follow his plan thus being in the midst of all their efforts. His friend from the police, his friend PI..🤢
** Falguni has designs on Dhawal
** Parag finally is shown as the concerned father. The one good thing😊
** Oh poor Ahem😭 But I did smile seeing him all tied up. Sorry Sherry😳 That was the only time I smiled during the episode.😕
And finally, I feel that Gopi's disappearance is the first good thing that happened after Ahem's kidnapping. If Gopi does not do this, the family will never leave Aman's clutches and will dance to his tunes. Now there is a loose canon and Modis will do something that will actually be something outside Aman's influence. That is most important😛
Again, hats off to every member of the SNS team. This has been an episode par excellence👏
