Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra house hunting in Dubai for luxury pad... together?

Duo reportedly paired up to view a few luxury properties post their concert

The growing fondness between Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra was for all to see, as the Bollywood duo surprised onlookers with their shared camaraderie and, dare we say, chemistry, over the weekend as they performed in Dubai over the UAE National Day.

However, the plot thickened even further when Emirates 24|7 was informed that the A-listers were also hob knobbing the following afternoon, viewing some ber luxury properties in the emirate.

A source present at the viewing claimed that both the actors were keen on The Palm Jumeirah and toured a number of properties there.

"Both Salman and Priyanka appeared quite keen in some luxurious villas on the VIP fronds on The Palm Jumeirah," the source said. They added: "They have shortlisted something they liked and are expected to make separate bids shortly."

Interestingly, at the press conference of their stage show, 'Ahlan Bollywood', brothers Salman and Sohail couldn't stop gushing about how much their family loved Dubai.

In fact, when quizzed, Salman said: "To put it bluntly, if I wasn't living in Mumbai for work, then I would surely be living in Dubai."

When asked whether he was looking at properties here, the actor vaguely mentioned: "I haven't seen anything as yet, but it is on the cards."

We guess, it was sooner than later for the Indian actor, who has made several high profile visits to the city this past 12 months, starting off with his birthday celebrations and a new year's bash last December.

Following this, the actor jetted down here to launch his charitable line of clothing, Being Human, along with shooting for his upcoming 'Dabangg 2', which releases on December 20 in UAE cinemas.

Incidentally, if Salman does manage to lock in on a property on The Palm, the actor will probably have archrival Shah Rukh Khan as his neighbour, considering the latter already owns a sprawling villa on the man-made island.

As for dear Priyanka, we reckon she wouldn't really mind having both the Khans as her neighbours, considering when is fast becoming a good friend, while the other has been her alleged 4am friend on occasion, according to reports.

Incidentally, a Signature villa, which Shah Rukh owns on The Palm Jumierah, costs approximately Dh20 million and up, while a Garden villa averages from Dh11 million.

But place a microphone before him, add the company of three dazzling starlets and a crowd of onlookers loitering in his midst and a veritable master class in comedy will ensue.

If there's one thing you cannot accuse The Tiger of, it is evoking tedium. A chat will always produce a few surprises that can diffuse any situation, which is lucky given his very loose definition of punctuality.

A host of one-liners is exactly what entailed when we met with Salman, flanked by his co-stars Priyanka Chopra, Sophie Choudry and Zarine Khan, at the Grand Hyatt on Saturday, in preparation for last night's Ahlan Bollywood show.

The tone was immediately set when the Dabangg star mistakenly believed a television camera pointing in his direction was recording. A few trademark eyebrow raises to the lens signified that, despite his flight just landing, he was in the mood to play. A sentiment which was immediately compounded by his answer to a rather broad inquiry into how everyone was doing and how they found working together.

Grabbing Priyanka's cheek and tugging at it with over-the-top enthusiasm the actor declared, "We absolutely love each other. I'm crazy about her. Look at her, she's so beautiful. 😛

"She has done four films with me. I don't think she has done more films with anyone else. Have you?" he asked the Fashion actress.

It appears the ability to jest runs through the entire Bollywood fraternity as an unaffected PC, with the look of a mischievous teenager, smirked and remarked with an equally sardonic lilt, "Apart from you, how can I?"

"Such a beautiful girl!" was the reply, followed up with, "So what are you doing tonight?"

"Rehearsing!" was the abrupt response.

It was difficult to tell whether this mildly sarcastic skit was rehearsed or a commonplace signal of genuine affection. The laughs from the other two ladies hinted at the latter, although it has to be noted that when Salman was informed the camera was not on, the theatrics if not the witticisms became subtler.

"He always plays up when he thinks there's a camera on him," Priyanka revealed. "No-one can tell when he's being serious or not, but I can say without putting on a show that we are all close."

"We have all worked in different combinations, but this is the first time we are all together," added a perfectly poised Sophie. "I guess Zarine is the newbie, but the film family is quite small so we all know each other."

Newcomer or not, Zarine adds her own prestige to this formidable line up. A monster hit earlier in the year with Housefull 2 means that, even though she is the most junior actress in the squad, her dancing was always going to attract attention. The rigid pecking order was not going to be ignored, however, as the only comment the 28-year-old could muster when asked why the cat had got her tongue was, "In real life I can't keep my mouth shut, but these are my seniors, so I'm just going to listen."

With four albums under her belt, Sophie was the designated singer in the group regardless of the fact intense media attention has been focussed on Priyanka's musical debut. The reason for Priyanka not giving a rendition of her single In My City: a lack of material to follow it up.

"I am going to sing eventually," she said. "I'm just waiting for a few more singles to release, so I have at least three songs to perform. Perhaps next time I do a show here. Right now I have to concentrate on making sure we all look good."

And how does one prepare for that?

"Rehearse!" Sophie intoned with a grin, accompanied by a noticeable look at the clock to see if they could fit a quick session in. "It never feels like you've done enough. Everybody has such busy schedules, to get together and dedicate enough time is not as easy as one would like."

"If you want to see perfect dancing a million times rehearsed go see a Hrithik Roshan show," Salman interjected with a flourish to conclude proceedings. "Don't come to my show. With me you get 'masti', a good energy and a good vibe. You just have fun."
