Part 30

Mr Ahuja, the CEO of Techno Computers arrived in the party with his entourage. Maan received him and lead him to the party. Mr Ahuja was delighted with the arrangements, as he had not expected such a lavish party at Amritsar. He complimented Maan and did not stop praising his presentation. He introduced Maan to the important people from his management. Maan was handling all this very efficiently and professionally. Maan was just about to shake hands with another of those managers, when his eyes drifted, just for a second, towards the hall's entrance, and he stopped in the middle, stunned at what he saw.

Geet was getting very cautious in that dress. She had tried calling Pari so many times, but she was not picking up and after Maan's call, she had to rush to the party. She moved through the hotel's lobby as conspicuously as possible, cursing Pari all the way. "Pari, tu mil aab mujhe. Tera to janaza hai aaj.." She closed her eyes and took a deep breath to steady herself. The second she entered the hall, instantaneously, all the eyes were on her, making her more cautious. But, the first person her eyes caught hold of, was Maan, who was looking at her with amazement. (Maneet's eyelock) Somehow Maan's graze on her didn't unsettle her, rather she felt comfortable and confident due to his presence. In that moment she forgot everything, everyone and got lost in Maan's eyes, listning to those unspoken words which his eyes were communicating to her.

Geet was about to head towards Maan, when she saw the person Maan was about to shake hands with, and who was now heading towards her. Geet got shocked and stood rooted at her place. Maan too was so engrossed in Geet that he didn't realize that his company had left him. He only saw him when that person reached where Geet was standing, confidently caught hold of one of her hands and kissed at the back of her palm, leading her in the party. Geet herself was too shocked to react to these actions. After all, Rahul was the last person she had expected to meet at this party.

Maan's whole body burnt with anger at seeing some guy kissing Geet, at that too without taking her permission, as if he owned her. Maan's possessiveness kicked in. How dare he. Maan was just about to go and confront him, but the conversation going on around him stopped him.

Mr Ahuja.. "Mr Tejwani, yeh Mr. Rahul Miss Geet ko jante hain?"

Mr. Tejwani.. "Ohh..to aap Mr. Rahul ki fianc ko phale se hi jaante hain?"

Mr. Ahuja surprised.. "Fiance?? Yeh kab hua. Hume to kisi ne kuch bataya hi nhi Rahul ki shaadi ke baare me"

Mr. Tejwani.. "Aare aisi baat nahi hai sir. Shaadi ki date abhi fix nhi hui hai. Abhi to bas rishta hi pakka hua hai, 2-3 din phale. Formal mangni bhi honi baki hai abhi Issiliyia chinta nhi kejia Mr. Ahuja, sabse phela card to Rahul aapko hi dene wala hai"

Mr. Ahuja.. "Vaise must say Rahul ki choice badi acchi hai. Aur ladki kafi talented bhi hai. Maine dekha hai usska kaam, KC ka kafi accha presentation diyia tha issne. She has a very bright future"

Mr. Tejwani.. "Aab future ki to kya baat hogi. Rahul ki family ko to aap jante hi hain. How conservative they are. Aapni bahu betio ko to woh log ghar me hi rakhna pasand karte hain"

Mr Ahuja.. "Yeh baat bhi saahi kahi aapne. Mujhe to bhut ummede thi iss ladki se. Khair, yeh usska personal decision hai. Vaise Mr. Khurana kahan chale gaye. Aabhi to yahi the"

Maan could no longer listen to that conversation. He could not even stand there and see Geet in the arms of some other man. He was frustrated, angered, jealous. It was a big jolt for Maan. How could Geet do this to him. How dare she. Why didn't she tell him that she was engaged. She had no right to play with his feelings this way. How did he let this happen to him...AGAIN. Kaise bharosa kar liyia usne phirse, woh bhi ekk ladki pe. Kaise usse aapne dil se phir khilwad hone diyia. Kaise Geet ki bholi aakho me aa gaya woh. Kya saach me Geet ki aakhe padhne ussne galti kar di. Kya sach me who Shimla ki trip Geet ke liyia koi mayane nahi rakhti thi, jo ussne vahan se aate hi shaadi ke liyia haan kar di. Maan wanted these answers from Geet and he wanted them now.

Pari was also shocked at the scene she witnessed. She could not believe Geet letting any guy so close to herself. Moreover, earlier, Maan's expressions on seeing Geet had proved Pari that her plan was working, but even she had never expected such a turn of events. Pari immediately rushed to meet Geet, who herself looked flushed. Geet had seen Maan barging out of the party at seeing her and Rahul. She knew Maan would be angry, but this had to happen.

Pari.. "Geet??"

Geet was a little relieved an seeing Pari.. "Pari.." But before Geet could say anything further Rahul interrupted.. "Pari.. what a lovely name for a lovely lady. So, r u Geet's friend or colleague?" His voice was a little flirtatious.

Both Geet and Pari were a little taken back at his tone. Still Pari got hold of herself and extended her hand "Both. And I am guessing you might be Rahul. Geet's future fianc"

Rahul was also taken back by Pari's promptness and reference as "future" fianc, but shook her hand "You can call me her fianc. Pleasure in meeting you" and he bent and suddenly kissed Pari's back of hand as well.

Both Geet and Pari were again shocked at his audacity. Pari immediately withdrew her hand from his grasp. Rahul smirked and said "Now if you would excuse us, I would like to introduce my FIANCE to my colleagues"

Geet went with him with a helpless expression.
