Hello,

So I post here rather sparingly, partly cause I'm busy and partly cause I know how addictive IF gets and I don't want to get addicted. I'm a very old member of IF (I'm not old, I joined young 😆) and I used to be very active and moderate several sections years back before stepping down.

After a long hiatus, i returned to IF because I started watching Madhubala and got hooked.

Anyway, I'm writing my first OS. I can't think of a better name.

Comments and criticisms are welcomed.

OS: Kajrat Farmhouse

Madhu sat in the car, making a mental note of what to say to RK when she met him. She had received permission from Radhaji to scold and even beat him. All she had to do now was to remember she was angry when she met him.

"How dare he disappear like that! How much has he got to put me through this week! First Karva Chaut, he comes after I faint, and now then he disappears for more than 12 hours at some damn guesthouse, and he calls me there tomorrow. Not tonight. Tomorrow. Remember all this Madhu, especially when you see him" she thought to herself, "also find a good time and tell him how you feel. No Dipali or Bittuji to interrupt you now." Yes, this had to be the perfect opportunity for that as well.

The driver had just pulled into the complex and stopped outside a large brick bungalow. As Madhu stepped outside, she noticed how gorgeous the whole property looked. Thegarden in front had so much greenery and a beautiful patio with a fountain at one side of the garden. On the other side, there was a Jacuzzi. "RK's definitely got a superstar life" she thought to herself and smiled.

She took a deep breadth and rang the doorbell. "Remember Madhu, be angry. ANGRY" she muttered under her breadth. A servant answered the door and let her in.

Madhu walked to the hall, resolute not to look around and be amazed at the interiors. Things were simpler here than at the RK mansion, with the design all very earthy, in line with the farmhouse concept. RK was seated in the hall with some director and scriptwriter.

RK looked up at Madhu as she walked in. "Biwi, I'm in the middle of something. Raju, show Madhu to the bedroom. Biwi, make yourself comfortable while I finish up. Shouldn't be too long," he said nonchalantly and he got back to his discussion. It was almost like he expected her to come.

Madhu turned back to look at RK as Raju guided her to the bedroom. He did not even look back. "How dare he not ask me how I came here, or why I came here? Wait RK, you just wait!!" she muttered under her breadth as she entered the bedroom.

The bedroom was decorated in very rustic fashion, in much contrast to his room in the RK mansion. There were almost no posters or paintings of himself, except for one picture with his dad. There was a big bookshelf with books and music CD spanning across eras.

Madhu browsed through some of the books and music RK had. He had amazing some great, rare collection. "Who knew he had such good taste!" she thought to herself.

10 minutes had passed and there was still no sign of RK.

She decided to play some music. She saw that RK was listening to some old melodies and had 'History of Indian Film Music' currently playing. She too loved those old melodies of Rafi saab and Lataji. She hit the play button and went back to browsing some of his books.

She picked up one of the books and sat on the bed reading, singing along to the songs as they played.

'Yeh ladka hai allah, kaisa hai deewana.

Kitna mushkil hai tauba isko samjana.

Ke dheere dheere dil bekarar hota hai.

Hote hote hote pyar hota hai'

Describes RK perfectly she though as she recollected moments where he first refused to let her feed him, and then insisted she did with her hands; when he forced her to change her sari, yet easily obliged to return her earrings. She sat on the bed smiling to herself.

'Ho sakta hai dekhona,

Samjho mitti ko sona,

Pal bar ka hasna

Jeevan bar ka rona'

She continued to sing the song and hum during the interlude.

"Waah Biwi, if I didn't know any better, I'd have thought you were singing about me" she heard someone say. She looked up to see RK leaning against the wall with a devilish grin on his face.

But before she could respond, RK shocked her, by crooning to the male verse of the song.

'Bhole ho tum kya jaano,

Abhi mujhko pehchano

Sapna tumhara main hoon

Maano ya na maaro

Dekho Naadani se mujhe na tukrana,

Nahi to gati rahogi yeh tarana'

Ke dheere dheere dil bekarar hota hai

Hote hote hote pyar hota hai'

Madhu did not know what to say. "He knows I'm in love with him. Oh no. He knows! No he doesn't pagli, it's just a song" a whole range of contradictory thoughts quickly flooded her head. She opened her mouth to respond, but couldn't come up with anything to say.

RK looked at her confused and let out a laugh, like he could almost read her mind.

"I love these old songs Biwi, much more than the songs in my own movies. The melodies are soo soothing. And Rafi saab and Lataji, waah, what voice they had. Hard to find anyone that compares" RK said as he looked up at Madhu sitting on the bed.

She nodded in agreement, her mind still trying to grapple with how to respond.

"And the lyrics" continued RK, "are perfect in describing people's predicaments" he finished as he turned to leave the room.

Thanks😳

Loved it!!!

"How dare he not ask me how I came here, or why I came here? Wait RK, you just wait!!" <---That part made me laugh. 😆

Wish you wrote about Madhu exploding on RK. But oh well, it was still just as amazing without!

Actually I was thinking about it, but I didn't want to drag it out. Maybe I'll write another one about that.
