"Putul was getting bored as there is no one here of her age,thats why we thought to take her to market nearby"BG lied with a smile in an attempt to save palin from the embarrassment of deciding "poorest" menu in the world for her award function.

"You know,you can't lie geet.." BM said with a wicked smile before looking towards palin as he spoke,"Putul wants to eat ice cream which you have not added in your menu..Common palin,if you can't be a good writer,try to be "good host" atleast.."

His venomous words hit Palin really hard as she imagined herself standing in Lord shiva's temple with open hair and teary eyes..

"PALIN..." CM said loudly this time to get the attention of their host who seemed lost somewhere standing at the entrance.

Loud voice of CM broke Palin's reverie as she saw CM and CG .Finally they have arrived..

"Hello Mrs and Mr. Khurana...Welcome to the party.."She welcomed her guests.

"Hello palin..Thank you for inviting us.."CG spoke with a smile.

"Why are you so late???" palin asked.

"Actually We were busy discussing as well as choosing colors of our clothes for today's party..and one can't take such important decisions in haste.."CM explained.."and that reminds me of the question which is troubling both of us since we have got your invitation card..Why you have chosen "Black and white" color for invitation card???"He asked further.

Palin was dreading this question since she had sent the invitation card to colors couple.She had not any particular answer to this question except that she was afraid of their"colors queries"..That was why she had chosen Black and White which means "NO COLORS" if we talk in context of televisions.But to her bad luck "Black" and "White" also come under the term "COLORS".."I should have telephoned them instead of sending an invitation card" Palin regretted as she prepared herself for answering them..

"Its just I love this color combination.."She answered.

"Love this color combination ,thats it???Common palin..every color has some significance..You can't insult black and white like this???" CM exclaimed with little anger.Anger was also reflecting on CG's face. Palin was expecting same "reaction" from this colors obsessed couple as she remembered the days when she had started writing "Colors".She could give several "fake reasons" for the "shortness" of this story like she loved it short and sweet,Quantity does not matter when quality is good etc. but actual reason behind colors being so short was the long discussions made by Colors couple to decide the color of "Ink and paper" being used for writing their love story..A tremble ran in palin's body remembering how she had convinced them to use the same color for writing about which she was going to write in chapter..like blue ink for blue chapter,red ink for red chapter..

"Tell me palin..Why did you choose black and white???"CM asked in loud voice.

"Yes..because it reminds me of night and moon..White moon and Black Night.."Palin answered hoping that her answer would satiate their philosophical hunger.

"hmm..that means It is Night theme party.."CG surmised.

"Exactly Geet..look at the shamiana..There are moon and stars on it.."Palin spoke pointing towards the shamiana..It was a red colored tent with yellow moon and stars printed on it..There was a big stain on the round yellow moon..

CM and CG gave weird look to each other as they looked at the tacky decorations made by palin..

"Please come inside and enjoy the party.."palin spoke trying to send them in before they could put another question regarding red tent and yellow moon..

Palin was about to follow colors couple inside the shamiana when her gaze fell on the Beauty couple coming back with Putul and OM..

"So putul had her ice cream???" palin asked putul.

"No dadda did not let me.."Little girl grumbled.

"You know about her tonsillitis problem palin..I can't let her eat ice cream at night.."OM said to palin as he entered inside with putul in his arms to be followed by BM and BG.

Taunting gaze and wicked smile of BM brought back all the worst memories for palin as she remembered how he had insulted her for the party menu. Blood was boiling in her vein.She inhaled sharply to calm the rage but it was not possible. Palin's resolution of "possessing internal and real beauty like BG" went down the drain as her evil mind started doing its job.She knew very well that BM was the winner of this poll but after bearing this much insult she would never let him have the satisfaction of winning..She would change the results..

.CG and her husband were done with their questions regarding colors of clothes of other persons present in party.While CM was busy telling other two Maans about his research to find out "pani da rang"{color of water},CG was doing chitchat with BG.

"You can try "Chromotherapy" for your scars"..CG suggested to BG.

"What is chromotherapy???" BG asked in confusion.

"Chromotherapy means healing with colors..."CG explained.

"That means I have to apply "holi colors" on my face??? I am sorry I can't do that I am allergic to holi colors.."BG informed.

Before CG could tell BG about chromotherapy they were disturbed by palin's announcement..

palin tried to be little dramatic like TV shows but it frustrated her guests..

Putul hugged her dadda as everyone congratulated him as well as clapped for him..

"Mr.Maan please come forward to accept this momento.."palin requested.

OM came forward to receive his momento..

"please share few words with us Mr. Khurana..Tell us how are you feeling???"palin asked.

OM looked at the momento in his hands{which was a box wrapped in shiny red packing paper} and started his speech..

"Whats this dash dash???"CG asked OG in confusion..

"Its his old problem...He used to forget words whenever he gets emotionally high..Sometimes i feel my life is a "Fill in the blank" competition..."OG told CG as tears brimmed in her eyes..

OM completed his speech and looked towards palin to continue ceremony..

As the word "dictionary" escaped palin's mouth,OM's hands started trembling.He threw the gift pack and ran towards his wife to hide behind her..

"There is a book in that gift pack geet..save me please..palin wants to kill me.."OM stuttered hiding behind OG.

"Don't worry maan..Book won't harm you.."OG spoke cupping his face.."I am with you...relax..just relax.."

"I am sorry people..We have to leave now..He has got another panic attack.."OG said apologetically.."Common putul help me taking your dadda to car.."

Palin silently watched Obsession family leaving the venue ..How could she forget that OM fears books...

"We would also leave now.."CM told palin as He left the venue with his wife..

It was only Beauty couple left in the Shamiana..BM would never let go the opportunity of insulting palin..

"If you can't arrange good refreshment for your guests..you could have arrange a proper momento for the winner..Thank God I did not win..."He spoke in his venomous tone..

"Geet take your husband form here before I kill him.."Palin said to BG gritting her teeth..

"We are leaving palin,Good night.."BG replied as she dragged BM with her who was in mood of insulting palin more.."

Palin was busy folding the mats when she felt a hand on her shoulder from behind..

"Hi maan.."She said turning around..

"So party is over???"maan asked.

"yes..Its over.."palin replied in a sad voice.."It is not only over but ruined too.."

"I know about that..You should not have gifted OM a dictionary.."Maan exclaimed.."By the way why did not you invite me and geet??"He asked further..

"Hmm...!!!"Palin said with a sigh..

"Cheer up palin.." Maan said taking the folded mats from her hands.."I have an idea for the momento you can give to OM..."

"I want to help him with his "dash" problem Maan..Would your idea work for that.??"
"Ofcourse palin..It would surely work.."

"I would..just tell me the idea.."

Maan took palin towards the wooden bench as he opened the Indiaforums.com on his laptop..Read this comment palin..He spoke showing her the screen..

"and if possible,you also start taking english tuition from her,It would help to improve your writing skills,you write so simple that i feel i am reading an english essay written by a sixth grader.."Maan suggested.
