Further Akshay's role in IPK never took off and infact got diluted to nothingness - - also remember his idea of a Bubbly track was terrible considering the kid was his family friend!

So Akshay surely would have some bitterness about IPK and would be happy IPK went bust and might have incited Barun's wife for Barun to quit. Akshay sounds like a narad muni - all offscreen drama and less on screen performance!

Logic for Barun's adamancy for a long break (aka quit) - 1. Barun being emotional about his wife's demands and Akshay's comments plus not wanting to carry the show on his shoulders; 2. with so many gone - he would have to work more hours - especially when he does not like the long hours these days!!

3. He has his movie MAMR promotion and his focus is on BW movies - i read somewhere he has supporting role offers with Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan!!!
