| Unless, of course, they show some flashback footage. That's because Kanchi and her serial co-star Arzoo Govitrikar are in the US for a 'dandiya-garba Navratri tour to a string of cities. "Yes, its true that we are both in the US for a fortnight as we have been invited there by various NRI cultural groups for the ensuing festivities. To make up for my long absence, I have shot for 18 hours non-stop for the past whole week to create a 'bank' of episodes. And, as a breather, I may not be prominently seen in a couple of episodes as well," discloses the model-turn-actor Kanchi. Although Arzoo's vampish character Tulika, who plays Nikhil's (Shakti Anand) first wife hates Ananya, they are the best of buddies in asli zindagi. Laughs Kanchi, "When fans see us chilling out or shopping together in real life, they are bewildered and even ask me, "Aapko darr nahin lagta Tulika key saath ghoomte huay. Bachke rehna okay?" Govitrikar is not shooting any more for 'Ek Ladki …' as Tulika is shown filing for a divorce and has walked out on her husband. "But my bitchy, scheming character will be back. My fans are missing out on the nasty twists and turns with my being out of the show," chuckles Arzoo. So would this be an 'off-screen dancing 'jhalak dikhla jaa' for the off-screen friends. "Not exactly, we are mostly making formal appearances and we will be watching the NRI garba-dandia revelers from a distance. But I love dandiya dancing especially in those colorful ethnic costumes," insists Kanchi. |
