Silence… with Love

He loved silence. Loved. It's been ages since silence played an important part in his life. It bade farewell from his life since he's been married to his Khushi. Now he loved noises, chatters, sounds of all sorts. They brought colours to his life, they brought out the hidden mischief he never knew he possessed.

But destiny had other plans.

Arnav closed his eyes and ears shot as his mind played the worst moments of his life once again.

A loud honk.

A crash.

Khushi's blood clad body.

The torturous journey towards hospital.

"Sorry Mr. Raizada, your wife lost her voice"

Lost her voice. Lost her voice. Lost her voice.

"No" he crased the guest room glass table.

Arnav was engulfed with silence once again. His heart yearned for one sound from his wife. His ears strained to hear her laughter but nothing came. He cursed himself, blamed himself and punished himself.

Since the accident he did not let himself near her. How could he? His existence has always caused her trouble, humiliation and pain. She has suffered a lot but being the golden heart has always forgiven him. This time Arnav's presence in her life has taken away her chirp, her voice, Khushi's identity.

Arnav kept an eye from a distance and saw his little butterfly with same enthusiasm doing everything she did, with smile, with usual clumsiness but it did not have her usual chatters all because of him. He always saw her eyes searching for him but he hid himself. He couldn't bear her blame.

His phone rang and he picked it up not bothering to see the id.

"Hello?"

Silence welcomed him.

"Hello? Who the…"

He stopped whatever he wanted to say.

"Kh-khushi?"

He felt a nod with her tears.

"Kh-khushi please don't cry", his own plea had tears.

Please come to me

He felt her request

Please

"I can't", he replied brokenly.

You have my swear.

That is all he needed to go to her.

Arnav entered his room and found her standing with accusing eyes full of tears. He understood.

"I did not want to hurt you more" he stated.

He was at once hurled with fists and she was sobbing badly. Arnav understood his distance gave her more pain than. She was throwing him things around the room and he let her do it. Finally, she grabbed his collar and pulled him towards her, her eyes swimming with tears.

I love you, dammit,

"I love you too Khushi", he sobbed out loud and Khushi sank to the ground holding his hand.

He sat down and wiped her tears. She took his hands to her heart.

I cannot lead my life without you.I need you beside me always. You complete me. I need you to be my voice. Plea…

"Don't say please", he cupped her face.

He saw her eyes with questions.

You wont leave my side?

He shook his head.

You will be with me?

He shook again and saw hope gathering around her eyes

You will be my voice?

He nodded.

Forever?

"Forever", he promised and enclosed her small palms inside his large ones.
