Serial on rebirth ends

The much-hyped serial Pyaar Ke Do Naam - Ek Radha Ek Shyaam is finally coming to an end. Despite being one of the costliest shows on television, it couldn't draw the audiences. Apparently it's doing badly and the producers have decided to wind up the show by this month-end.

When contacted, Kavita Barjatya, the producer of the show, says, "The serial is based on re-births. But we had decided long ago that we won't drag the serial beyond three births. Our creative team wanted to bring the show to a logical conclusion and now we have decided to wrap up," Kavita says. "The concept was well accepted in north Indian states like Uttar Pradesh, but not here."

The actors have been officially informed about the show going off air. Barkha Bisht, who plays Radha in the serial, says, "The show has made me what I am today. It had almost become a family affair. The show was one of its kind, dealing with re-births. It's unfortunate that the serial is winding up." Indraneil Sengupta aka Shyaam seconds Barkha's opinion. "I think we did a great job. The show had already seen us taking three births and a fourth birth would have been tedious for the audiences."
