Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa's ousted contestant Pooja Bedi's choreographer Hanif Hilal has been receiving flak for wearing silver pants in the Sony dance contest.
As the show is based on the Latin American dance , the norm is black trousers for men. In yesterday's HiTLIST ('Pooja ousted from Jhalak'), Hanif claimed that this is what the channel's stylists had designed for him. But the stylists are furious with him.
"It was Hanif who insisted on silver. Pooja's outfit in fuchsia blue was the most elegant. He was adamant on silver trousers and claimed he knew a lot about Latin American dance.
So there was no point explaining to him. And look what happened." According to Sandeep Soparrkar, technical director, Jhalak, "In Latin dance forms, high-waited black pants are worn by men so that the colourful costumes of the women can look attractive. In Latin dance, a man's job is to show off his women's grace and elegance, not overshadow the women's clothes!"
