Ranbir -Deepika in Imtiaz Ali's nex

Despite their long-drawn and much publicised break-up, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone never let their personal turmoil affect their professional relationship. Though they avoided signing a film for a while, the ex-lovers came together for Karan Johar's Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani earlier this year. And now, we hear that the actors are ready to keep their on-screen romance alive with yet another venture. If all goes well, Dippy may soon be finalised to play the female lead opposite Ranbir in Imtiaz Ali's next, a film produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.

A source told Mirror, "After Rockstar, Imtiaz was ready to wait till he got Ranbir's dates for his next directorial. He has now signed on Sajid's venture that'll go on floors next year. Ranbir being a part of the project was a foregone conclusion. And pairing him with Deepika would generate enough interest around the film."

Deepika, who has worked with Imtiaz in Love Aaj Kal shares a great rapport with the filmmaker. "Imtiaz likes working with her and wants her to be a part of his next film. If all goes well, Deepika will be on board at the earliest," said the source.

Apparently, Katrina too is keen to work with Ranbir again. "But no filmmaker has asked her to be Ranbir's leading lady," said the source.

Sajid Nadiadwala remained unavailable for comment.

Be it on the screens or off it – Ranbir and Deepika have always been a hot couple!

While the two created headlines when they announced their love for each other many moons ago, their sudden break-up too grabbed eyeballs few years back!

The two kept each other at a distance for some time, along with igniting few controversies with their public interviews about one another.

It was only last year that the media saw some good vibes being re-shared by them, as reports claimed that Ranbir and Deepika would work together once again! And the same was confirmed soon, as Karan Johar's Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani was declared to have the two romancing each other.

The latest report, if proven right in good time, comes as another surprise for the film-buffs. Apparently, if all goes well and as planned, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone will be cast opposite each other in Imtiaz Ali's next project, to be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.
