I wanted to share what little of the tune I've been able to piece together from the two clips we've identified so far - http://db.tt/MAvDHtda

This is as much as I could get without sound effects or dialog interrupting. Be advised, there is a minor audio blip from the source material as well as Radha letting a soft chuckle slip. Anyway, its a good start.

Thanks for the help, and if you come across the tune elsewhere don't forget to post here and let us know!

lola, I've kept up your sound file naming system. Let me know if the title can be improved upon 😆

^^ Thanks for sharing that! You did a great job with the editing, I can barely hear the chuckle... as for the name, I wholeheartedly approve 😆 While I have yet to find more instances of this tune, I did track down an extended version of the santoor melody we hear earlier in that same Gauri Pooja scene, which - as I'd mentioned to you - comes up again an episode later, in the Padmavati scene when Garg reveals the story of Kans' demonic heritage. It's right here in the Satyabhama-Rukmini scene, from 4:26 onwards:

Me too! I can't believe Ramanad Sagar ji & Co missed out on such a lucrative opportunity. Music sales would have been through the rough. Then again, I suppose his heart was really on producing the best serial possible, not capitalizing on it.
That does sound like what his view on it would've been. We certainly missed out, though. I've been in search of Ravindra Jain's contact info for ages in an effort to get my hands on that deleted song I remember from Shri Krishna before the original Swapnil Joshi version of the Dwarika track was reshot - it was an inspirational number about trusting Krishna wherever he takes you, be it Dwarika or wherever else, entitled "Chalo re chalo Krishna premiyon, Krishna ne tumhe bulaaya". I wonder how many more unreleased gems he might have stashed away.
Sidebar: How are you doing after the Sandy aftermath? We were one of the incredibly few homes who lost power only temporarily. No major damage other than a few small trees down. The rest of my town, and Long Island wasn't so lucky.
I know, I have family up there and as of Wednesday, they still didn't have power. Glad you made out ok though. I had to evacuate and saw messes elsewhere in the city when I got back, but not to my place thankfully.
I just wish gas wasn't in such shortage. I have less than half a tankful.
Hope they're not price-gauging like they were here!

Thanks for the info, it has been duly noted. I will try to rip the extended santoor melody at somepoint after I get my hands on a copy of the entire Shri Krishna set on DVD. Perhaps I should request the local library to purchase the 56 volume edition.

It looks like Ravindra Jain has recently joined facebook: http://www.facebook.com/ravindrajainmd
Perhaps you could send him a message there? I'm exactly sure how he receives his messages given his disability, but I am sure there is someone who coordinates on his behalf.

He also has an official website where some of his CDs are for sale. You can get some of the tracks for free on emusic if you sign up for a free one month trial (and then cancel before the period is up). Just visit http://www.emusic.com/ticketmaster for the offer.

Track 7 on the Shri Krishna Govind Hare Murari album the aarti Devraj Indra et. all sing to young Krishna and Radha, and Volume 2 of the album has a nine minute version of the Shri Krishna title song. :)

Ohh, I forgot to include the fruit of my labor! Haha

Some scenes ended up on the cutting room floor because the background music was only 38s long, but I'm pretty satisfied with the final product. I think the music really suits the bhav and I tried my best to coordinate all the subtleties of the movement with the melody. Maybe I'll make another version in the future.
