"Khushi!!!! Where are u yaar?! I don't want to be late for Sehgal's class!! Will please make it a bit quick?" he shouted for the thousandth time as he waited for his friend..best friend to come down.
"She'll be here soon Arnav' why are u being such a brat?" Payal snarled at him.
"Payal was Khushi's room-mate. Khushi and Payal lived in a hostel as both of them had shifted to delhi for their studies.
Arnav grinned at her as she stared back at him at stuck her tongue out. Had He not been Akash's Brother' she would have smacked him down by now'
"Khushi!!!!" He screamed once again forgetting the count of it.
"Aa gayi baba!!"
He heard a familiar voice and and saw her coming down. She was looking gorgeous. A denim and a baby-pink kurtha perfectly complimented her. No'she was not one who clinged to the fashion trends. She wore what she felt comfortable in. she liked to be her self. Her hair tied in a loose plait that rested on her left shoulder. She flashed him a smile as she descended down the stairs.
He was gaping at her. Yes. He was literaaly doing that. He snapped out of his drooling session and mentally smacked his head.

Oh yeah! She was his best friend' and that was exactly the problem!
"hey Arnav'. Lets go?"
She asked him quizzically. There was something about this guy that pulled her towards him. She didn't know what it was but it she liked it. He was her best friend. Arnav and Khushi were the best buddies of the college.
"hey Payal'U comin with us?"
" Umm..NO.. Akash would be here any moment'"
"Oho'. "
Arnav said with a glint of tease in his voice..
"Now who's getting late for Sehgal's class?"
Khushi asked him with an irritated look. He was dead. He was So dead. He shouldn't have told her to hurry up and then end up in a chit-chat with payal.
"Ok fine.. Lets go!! Cya in the cafeteria Payal!!" Arnav and khushi bid her a good-bye and left for college.
They reached the college a bit late' very much late. Sehgal was mad at the duo was bunking his class. Khushi fumed at Arnav for that of-no-use chit-chat of his with Payal.

The whole lot was waiting for the two at the cafeteria. Akash,Payal,NK,Lavanya and there was no sight of them. Finally the two arrived after an hour. All the four would do nothing but awe at the two. All of them thought that the two would make a great couple. But sadly it was just friendship for them.
"Ok'now who's gonna have what?" Arnav got up and asked the lot
"I'll have a cold coffee'" said Payal.
"M gonna have one samosa yaar" replied NK
"I'll have ice-tea bro" said Akash.
" and I'll have diet coke" came the reply from Lavanya.
Arnav nodded in acceptance and turned around to leave for the counter when Lavanya popped up her head and placed a question.
"U didn't ask Khushi? Are u two having a cold war or something?"
"No duffer.. he knows what I want. So he didn't ask!!" khushi answered back.
Arnav gave her an understanding smile and went to the counter along with NK. He kept looking back at Khushi and smiling at her for each second. Well this didn't go un-noticed by Lavanya.
"Kay, can I ask u something?"
"shoot it La'"
" don't get me wrong but I couldn't help but wonder' are u guys seeing each other?"
Khushi looked up at La from her copy of Sidney Sheldon's THE DOOMSDAY CONSIRACY down and leaned a bit forward to talk to La.
" No la' we are not into any such thing. We are friends. And best friends to be precise. I know Arnav too well La' he would never cross his line of friendship with me."
Unknown to the four people at the table there was one more soul that was listening to her explanations. It was Arnav. He loved her. Yes he did!! But he knew Khushi far more better than himself. He silently made his way to the table and placed the orders before them.
Khushi' if its friendship for u' then so be it. Arnav thought.
But little did the two know that destiny had other plans for them.
