so why are guys afraid to take the first step?

Just wondering,why?why does a guy have to wait to take the first step when hes in love with a girl?why does the thought of proposing a girl make him break into a nervous sweat?and why does a girl keep waiting for the guy to say his heart out,only to wait eternally until it never happens?are guys really that insecure?or they merely love the thrill of chasing skirts,with no idea of what to do once the target is reached?and why is it always that a girl taking the first step is a big taboo?do all guys react like yuvraj when a girl speaks her heart out?i know there are guys reading the forum topics,it would be good to know their side of the story as well...

But in India... They. Also have deal with girls saying... Iski cheap mentality hai... Warna yeh ache ghar ka Ladakh nahi hai...

Then family Izad comes into the picture,..

Then whole arrange and love marriage issue...

And most important.. Differences in culture... Marathis, gujjus, Sindhis etc...

In India it is hard for a guy..as he is considered and is expected to be taking the responsibility of the entire family. Even though I am just 18 I still feel that now the my responsibilities are increasing as time passes. Worries about wat will I have to do once graduated, etc. That is when he will have to go through a point where he has look out if his family will be affected with his decision of taking the first step in a relationship.
The other thing is about how the girl would react. It is hard to understand if the girl considers u in that way or not...becoz it would be tough for a guy to break the heart of a girl same was the case with Yuvi..Becoz obviously he would not want to loose her just becoz he took the first step...and ya when it comes to the girl taking the first step...yes it is a taboo but I am not for it...I too have the question that when u say that today we have our girls independent in life then I think there is nothing wrong in them taking the first step...but again the family point of view comes in between.

Yaar mani (now m gonna call u mani too 😉) thing for me is..i don't care who takes the first step..it really doesn't matter...i mean..i don't care who proposes first !!..what's the problem in girl proposing..gals might find it awkward..but to be truthfull...guys love it..and would be memorable for them too..and coming back..i don't feel who takes the first step matters...as long as love is in their in their heart for each other 😳 (Zyada hi romantic ho gaya!! 😆)

Thanks for the replies,guys..so what i want to know is,now that Yuvraj is aware of Suvreens feelings for him,whats stopping him from reciprocating?imho hes being immature suddenly being jealous of zorro,but if he has resolved not to tread that path,no matter how much annie /naro try making him jealous,it wont work.he will seethe and stew in anger but wont take a step forward.the most he could do was kiss suvreen

@red...fully agree..but my question is ,Yuvraj doesnt have to take the first step here,he just has to admit his feelings.would you do the same in Yuvraj's situation?back down from the r'ship,even though you have feelings for the girl?

@red..haha i like your frankness..its true,guys would die to get the girl to confess but wont do so themselves! but yeah,so far storywise,Suvreen Guggal has been following the lines of realism more than the other shows..so watching it isnt as painful as the other brainless soaps
