Why blame Bhairon

I have seen several posts blaming Bhairon for not putting his foot down for Anandi and doing more than talk. When Anandi was a kid, this is true, Bhairon did not have enough of a backbone to go beyond talk with DS, at that time Anandi was a kid and could not stand up for herself without being brutally punished by DS.

For the last few years, Anandi has been an adult, old enough to lead not only her life independently but also the village as Sarpanch. She has shown tremendous growth, and has received a lot of support from the Singhs in her professional growth. Since Jagya's return, DS has rekindled her feelings for her ladesar and cannot see him in pain, she wants to see his and Anandi's reunion. Bhairon, at each step, has supported Anandi and opposed the rest of the family. However, every single time he has spoken up, Anandi has been a martyr and not supported Bhairon. The end result is that Bhairon is the only one fighting for Anandi, while Anandi puts Bhairon in a weak position by going against him and giving in to DS.

In such a situation, when Anandi herself doesn't stand up for herself and bends over backwards, what is Bhairon to do? How can he keep fighting for Anandi, an adult, when she herself will not do the same and actually in a way puts Bhairon down by refusing to follow his POV that is in her support? I can understand Bhairon's helplessness in such situations. He tried to explain to Anandi, but Anandi is focused entirely on being a martyr.

So then how is it Bhairon's fault? He is all bark but no bite, but that is not his fault, its Anandi's. Anandi tries to help others in the village, but if the others don't want to be helped and continue with their old way of life, what can Anandi do? You can take a horse to a lake but you cannot make him/her drink the water. That is the case with Bhairon. Bhairon could have made a difference in Anandi's life had he spoken up when she was a child, but since Anandi has become an adult, she alone can fight for herself, not Bhairon.

Just one thing... Child remain a child to the parent no matter what the age would be... And if child is in pain or in danger parents would definitely will help the child... No matter what who need or not, ask or not, deny or accept.

Given that Anandi is an adult, Bhairon should have a 1:1 talk with Anandi and explain to her how her decisions (read interference) is eventually hurting her. And how detrimental such behavior would be for her in the long run.

Making Anandi see the light of day is Bhairon responsibility too!!

Bhairo argued with basant and his mother, threatened them that he would leave the haveli with anandi. And all that this Mahatma did was let him down by anouncing that jagya can live in the haveli.

At that point, I wanted bhairo to put his foot down and say 'I am leaving the house without anandi'... he supports her foolishness all the time like allowing her to act as jagya's wife when he himself had clearly said that he wants to take his son to a good hospital in Jaipur and then he blames his own son. How right he is though?

That is the word I was looking for, she made him look like an idiot. But what would Bhairon's leaving the house by himself serve? CM would still have a problem with Anandi and Jagya living under the same roof, Anandi would still behave like Jagya's wife, and DS would have complete access to manipulating Anandi this time would Bhairon's protection. Bhairon gives into Anandi's foolishness because he cannot force her. With Jagya he kicked him out of the house, he cannot drag Anandi out the same way. This has happened every single time. The only thing he can do is move Anandi and Shiv's relationship forward. When DS showed no interest in Anandi's wedding, Bhairon got the wedding cards ready and moved the process along.

He should have taken a firm stand that under no circumstances jagya will live there. How right was it for him to allow anandi to overrule his decision? All that he could do was feel helpless and walk upstairs to his room ??
