Yup.. Found it😃

Bhang is illegal without a permit in India. It is not banned.. But just like Liquor, you need a permit to sell Bhaang.

From Wiki

As Bhang has served such an important role in India's culture and spiritual practices it would be impossible to criminalize cannabis completely in the country. Cultivation of cannabis is government regulated, and illegal without a government permit. Sale of bhang is also government regulated and illegal without a permit.

So bhang is legal and alcohol not. Defo messed up. Either both should be illegal or both legal.

Typical politicians. Choose a policy to suit their pockets.

Told you a politician owned a bhang shop 😆

In SA it's the opposite btw. Here the politicians own the liquor shops

Alcohol is also not illegal Shaun.
Both are allowed but only with permit and is highly regulated in some states.
But yeah. .Even in India, politicians own liquor shops.. It is highly profitable business😕

So it's not a dry state? Or what am I missing? 😕

Perhaps a shot of whisky will sort me out 😆

It is.. Here is the lift from Wiki on alcohol again.

Source wiki
In India, consumption of alcohol is prohibited in the states of Gujarat, Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland,[2] as well as the union territory of Lakshadweep. All other Indian states permit alcohol consumption but fix a legal drinking age of between 18–25 years.

For Bhang, there was no state restrictions given. so we are safe to assume that Bhang is not banned but is regulated as according to wiki it is used in Ayurvedic medicines and as prasad..
So definitely something fishy😊

You are not going mad Shaun..😆
