Nice update...arnav seems like a down to earth person...He followed all the rituals wt anjali askd him to do...pls continue soon...thanx...

I am sorry for updating late, would not like to give any excuses and want to start with my update this is the second part to the "13 steps to a new life" and will contain the actual 13 steps. well thanks for following this FF till now

13 steps to a new life II

Marriage Day
Ratna puts Tilak on Arnav's forehead and gives him blessing. Aakash helps Arnav to sit in the horse and Arnav's barat leaves for Gupta house. Ratna stays back as customary. Anjali, Aaksh, NK and all others relatives are dancing ahead of baarat. It's a very lively moment, Arnav smiles seeing everyone happy. They reaches Gupta house. Gupta niwas is decorated no less than a bride today.

Buaji runs inside.
"Are oh Garima baarat aageyi jaldi chalo, aarti ka samaan leko aao" (Oh, Garima, Baraat has arrived come fast with Aarti)

The 13 steps Start from here:
[I]{{Bar satkaram (receiving groom)}[/I ]Garima and Shashi runs towards the main door. Garima puts tilak and turmeric, does Aarti and Shashi takig Arnav's hand leads him inside the house.

Khushi is being readied by her friends and Payaal, when buaji shouts that Baraat has arrived all the girls runs towards the balcony to take a one glance of groom. Payal too is leaving when Khushi catches her hand
"jiji mat jao humey darr lagraha" (jiji don go I am afraid)
"hum samjatey hain, acha hum yehi ruktey hain" (I understand, ok I will stay back)

{Madhuparka ceremony (groom at altar)} Arnav is taken to mandap(altar) and Shashi gives him some gift including clothes, sweets, gold etc.

{Vivah homa} In mandap priest chants lots of mantra and tells Arnav to put ghee on sacred fire. When the subh muhurat arrives the priest asks for the bride to come on mandap.

Shashi call Garima and inform her to call Khushi. Buaji comes running to Khushi's room and tells them to come down now. When Khushi is walking downstairs buaji is all teray.
"ruko, titaliya tum ab naye zindagi mein kadaam rakhney wali ho samhalkey, samjhi" (stop, titaliya now your going to step in a new life, be careful, understand) and she put kajaal on Khushi's backside of ear.
Payaal brings Khushi to mandap and Khushi sits beside Arnav. The priest chants some more mantras and tells both to puts ghee on fire. The priest tells both of them to stand up and put barmala on each other.

{kanya dan(giving away daughter)} The preist calls brides parents for Kanyadan ceremony. Shashi and GArima take Khushi's hand. The priest is chanting mantras and gives her hand in Arnav's hand.

{Pani graham (taking water)} Arnav's takes her hand and holy water of Kush is poured in their hand.

{Saptapadi (tying of Knot)} Anjali puts a pink scarf on Arnav and takes its one end and ties it with one end of Khushi's veil and blesses them to be together always.

{Pratigna-Karan (circling the fire) Khushi and Arnav walk round the fire, Arnav leads, and take solemn vows of loyalty, steadfast love and life-long fidelity to each other.

{Shila Arohan (stepping on stone)} Garima assists Khushi to step onto a stone slab and counsels her to prepare herself for a new life.

{Laja-Homah (putting rice on fire)} Khushi offers the puffed rice as oblations into the sacred fire while keeping the palms of her hands over those of the Arnav.

{Parikrama(taking seven round of fire)} Arnav and Khushi finese circling around the sacred fire and legalize their marriage. Both of the again sit down on their respective place then Arnav put the vermillion on Khushi's forehead and then Mangalsutra on her neck.

Abhisekh The priest sprinkles holy water on them and announces the marriage is over and tells them to take elders blessings.

Aashirvadhan (taking blessings) Both Arnav and Khushi takes blessing of Shashi, Garima , Buaji and all the elders present there. Anjali hugs both of them and wishes them both happy life together. Aakash comes and hugs Arnav and congratulates him and calls Khushi bhabhi and welcomes her in her new life.

Anna prashan Buaji takes Arnav and Khushi to dining hall where all guest are having food now and tells them to feen each other. Both make food offerings to fire first and feed a morsel to each other.

Now its time for bidaai, Khushi hugs Garima and Garima tells Arnav
"bitwa, ika khayal rakhna, thodi nadan hain agar issey kkauno galti hogayi to maaf kardena (son, take care of her, she is innocent and if she does any mistake then forgive her)"

Arnavs nod at her. Shashi too pleads the same thing to Arnav and Arnav promises both of them that he will keep her happy.

Khushi hugs her jiji and buaji and cries a lot. She bids good bye to her neighbor, all the children her friends even her dog and cats. Shashi makes her sit in the car. The car leads its way breaking the coconut by the tyre leaving Khushi's family in tears, tears of sadness that Khusi is going away from them and as well as of assurance that Khushi will be happy in her new life.

Khushi looks at her family from the car till they become invisible. Arnav gives his kerchief to Khushi to wipe her tears.
