This topic is certainly not related to JJKN but yet I just couldn't resist esp after watching the 9/11 videos repeatedly and the special memorial that they had today in ground zero which required all the family/relatives/friends reading out ther beloveds name who never returned home.It was extremely emotional watching so many people (nearly 3000 dies) cry and bid an emotional farewell to their beloved.

So many were young people just in their early 20's to their mid 30's.There were many indians too and I read that One india was just 23 years old and it made me soooo sad thinking how thier parents and relatives must have felt hearing the news.

And then there were so many brave men who sacrificed their lives to save others .

watching all this and seeing all the videos just made me realise one thing that we are all lucky that we are alive close to our near and dear ones and we should never look at life pessimisticly and infact live life to the fullest and take joy and feel and enjoy the smallest of smallest gifts , memories and events.

I also want to tell you How lucky I am coz My husband was one of the survivors of 9/11 .He was staying at the Marriot which collapsed too as it was right next to the world trade center. He was there inside with his colleague when the whole hotel shook coz of the impact of the wtc being hit and thats when they ran for their lives through the washingtom bridge and atlast were saved . Its a different story that I didnt meet him until 2003 but still to think that I wouldnt have met him at all, made me soooo emotonal and think of all the ones who lost their soul mates and accept the truth that their loved one was gone one fine day and will never ever return back .

Tina.. I can fully understand how it feels as my hubby is too a WTC survivor. He was working in WTC Tower 1 on 97th floor and he worked from home in the morning that day so decided to leave little late ..Other wise his work schedule was from 8:30 - 4:30 everyday. So, by God's grace he was saved and is with me and with my kids. I am so thankful and so lucky. It did have impact on our lives as he still struggles to come out of it. He takes 9/11 day-off and sits home and plants a tree in the backyard. He never has visited Ground Zero and says does not have courage. His company lost close to 300 people and so many of our friends and his very very good managers.

Hey Tina thats a very touchy post. We are honored that you shared this post with us. I am glad that your husband was saved and glad he met you. I was also reading on CNN about children who were not born into this world and their father died in this attack. Lot of women had miscarriage and lot of them wen to labor and delivered babies without their husband. Now these kids are old enough 4 or 5 to ask questions about where their dady are? really sad tragedy. Wish these terrorist who kill "innocent" people rot in heaven.... just 'coz of some political revenge or whatever it's just unjustified the way they take innocent's lives.

Aww, this is a very nice post Tina. I'm glad that your and Anju Di's hubbies are both safe because none of the victims deserved to die.
Its been about 5 years and its still so heartbreaking to think back at the tragedy and see all those tears and screams.

I am glad that ur hubby didnt go that day and that exactly makes us beleive in god even more. Its like something above us made him work from home.I can perfectly understand why he doesnt want to go to ground zero. It must be very tough to lose ur colleagues with whom u spend most of ur day with .

Anju and TinaI think Sept 11 has touched us all in some way or the other. Specially the NY NJ and Connecticut area.
I witnessed both the towers coming down without realising that there would be PEOPLE in it. I was at home and we have a superb NYC skyline view.... We heard so many friends who just survived and some unfortunate ones too who didn't return home that evening. Even today its very difficult to understand sept 11....

Peace all over the world.

After reading your posts, Tina and Anju, i've realised how small the world really is and how naive it is for us to think, "It will never happen to us." Sadly, tragedy is something that can strike anytime, anywhere.
But hope and mercy also come from unexpected quarters, and your stories just reinforce my faith in God. I hope your families reamin safe and the whole of this family called earth learns to reject evils such as terrorism and violence.
