Anubhav Krishna Srivastava has been naturally drawn to negative roles thus far. But this young actor now has the chance to play a positive character, much to his mother's delight, as he replaced actor Puru Chibber as Sachin, the eldest son of Manav and Archana onZee TV's globally popular showPavitra Rishta, earlier this month.
"I have never played a positive character before, but have wanted to. Positive characters are much harder to portray for me, as it's a new challenge," Anubhav explains. "To play this role I have to execute more control over my body language and actions, and be much more expressive. With negative roles there are more layers and you can used your dialogues, eyes and actions to depict the part. However, a positive character calls for more mature acting as you have to measure every action and sometimes hold back on the dramatics."
Sachin's character has been through shades of grey over conflict withArchana, Anubhav says, but is now totally committed to the family and making sure his parents' every need is taken care of. "Now that Sachin is a positive character in the show, in a month or so you can expect that his story track will progress as a love interest arrives and that story begins to unfold," he adds.
Ask him about how he got the role and he says, "I got a call from Balaji confirming the role that I had auditioned for when I was returning from Shirdi with my family and my niece, Tisha. I guess she's my lady luck as things have been going good for me since this lakshmi has come into our family."
Anubhav has played important roles in other shows like Jab Love Hua,Seven and is portraying the character of Naman in the show Pyar Ka DardHai Meetha Meetha Pyara Pyara. He has been the lead character in a short film, The Stranger, which was much appreciated and is now in talks with a few production houses to be made into a two-and-a-half hour feature film. In addition to being an avid film buff and a passionate salsa dancer, he has also worked in theatre and would like to act on stage again if the right opportunity comes his way.
