The End of Misunderstandings! Do Read!

Let's go a little back in time during those days when Suraj was being mean to Sandhya so that she would leave. This was before their confession and the Singapore track. I have made a Oneshot with that scrnario in mind. Hope you guys like it!

Sandhya's hand trembled as she read the heading of the document.

DIVORCE.

She could not read further and walked into her bedroom where her husband was getting ready for bed. Sandhya watched with her blur vision as her husband stood beside the window in the midst of putting on his night kurta. She just stared at him, her tears brimmed over and ran down her cheek. She did not want to lose him despite the circumstance in which they got married, despite the difference in their academic qualifications, despite anything and everything that could have been the reason why the document even existed. Yes, he had been mean to her in the past few days, but she wasn't the perfect wife either. Perhaps she deserved it. She wanted him back and she would do anything to get him back, even if she had to apologise on her knees. Her Suraj was just too nice. With a newly discovered determination, Sandhya wiped her wet eyes and walked towards her husband.

When Suraj felt a presence beside him, he saw Sandhya looking at him with sad eyes. He forced himself to ignore her but couldn't help the fact that his heart just sank everytime his wife was upset. He could not see her like that and faking an arrogant look, ignored her and tried walking past her towards the cupboard only to be blocked by Sandhya who stood exactly in front of him.

He turned away from her and asked her sharply,"Kya?(What?)"

Sandhya's heart broke when her husband turned away from her and spoke to her in that tone. Again her eyes teared. Nevertheless, she felt that she had wronged him and was determined to rectify her mistake. She wanted her soft Suraj back.

She folded her hands and started apologising in a choked voice as her tears flowed freely,"Suraji please aisa mat kariye. Hum jaante hain ke hum ek achi biwi nahi ban paye, please humein ek mauka di jiye. Suraji hum koshish karenge. Please mujhe maaf kijiye. Suraji... (Suraji please don't do this. I know I haven't been a good wife, please give one chance. I will try. Please forgive me. Suraji...)." Sandhya could not continue further as she started crying.

As soon as Suraj heard the very first word his wife said, his heart melted and turned to stare at her bent head as she continued her emotional speech. She could not even finish what she wanted to say as she was crying so badly. Looking at his wife, whom he loved, at this state, that too because of him, made Suraj want to kill himself. That's it, he was not going to do this to her anymore. He would do the thinking later as right now he just wanted his wife's tears to stop. The only way he could think of to console her was by gathering her trembling body in his arms, pressing her head to his chest and rubbing her back to calm her down. As soon as she was in his arms, Suraj felt Sandhya put her arms around his waist and clutch his kurta in her fist.

She then asked in a soft voice against his chest,"Aap sach mein humein talak dena chahte hain? (You really want to divorce me?)"

Suraj then cradled her head, patted her and simply answered,"nahi. (No.)"

Sandhya then asked,"Woh kaghazaat...(Those papers...)"

"Bhool jao, (Forget it)," came the reply.

Sandhya shifted and buried her head in his neck and cried into his neck even harder for she felt so relieved. Suraj just gently soothed her down by rubbing her back, craddling her head and never letting her go. Finally Sandhya stopped her sobs and relaxed as her head laid comfortably on Suraj's shoulder and her face pressed into his neck. She was in a state of bliss and did not feel like letting go. Even Suraj continued to hold her. When he felt her calm down he gently broke the hug and cupped her face.

'Sandhya-ji, aap thak gayi hon gi, so jaye ye," said Sooraj gently as he guided Sandhya to the bed and lay her down. He covered Sandhya with a blanket and then straightened up to walk away when Sandhya stopped him by holding on to his hand. He turned and found his wife staring up at him with a troubled expression.

Suraj then carressed Sandhya's forehead and softly asked,"Kya huwa Sandhyaji. Aap ko kissi cheez ki zaroorat hai?"

"Suraj-ji wo aap ka-kahaan jaa rahe hain?" asked a frightened insecure Sandhya.

"Main apna gadda laa raha tha, aap yahaan par aaraam se soiye," explained the ever so gentle Suraj.

Sandhya looked up at him and did not know how to tell her husband that she wanted him near her. She wanted to have the security of his arms. She needed it. While Suraj looked down at his wife, he had the strong urge of cuddling her trembling body and telling her how everything will be alright again. All he needed was for his Sandhyaji to say it once.

Sandhya had no choice but to let him go. She was too tired and in no mood to think of a plan or a scheme that would somehow result in them sleeping together. She watched as he took his bedding and placed it on the floor and then went to lie down on it after telling her to wake him up if she needed anything.

30 minutes have passed and both of them were not asleep yet, each thinking of the other and wanting the warmth of each other's body. Sunddenly the loud sound of thunder resounded throughout the quiet room, making Sandhya jump. Suraj immediately turned towards the bed and found that like him, his Sandhyaji too hasn't slept. Before he could say anything, Sandhya sat up on bed and turned to him finding him looking at her. As she looked at him looking at her, she decided that She was going to just tell him what she needed and wanted directly. She could not take it anymore, for how long were they going to do this?

When Suraj saw Sandhya sit up, he too sat up on his mattress and was about to ask her what was wrong when she said in a hesitant and trembling voice,"Suraj-ji, mujhe boht darr lag raha hai, kya ma-main a-aap ke pa-pass aa sakti hun?"

Much as Suraj was surprised, he was happy. That was exactly what he wanted but he had to make sure that he didn't embarrass her or make her uncomfortable. God knows how much courage it must have taken for her to actually make that request to her own husband.

He gently nodded at her.

He shifted his position on the mattress to the side making room for her. Sandhya didn't even bother to take her pillow or her blanket, all she wanted was him. She laid down beside him on the mattress as he supported himself on one elbow. Before Suraj could even settle down in his new position, Sandhya already had her arm around her Suraj-ji's waist and her face already buried in his chest. She had even placed part of her leg on his. To say that Suraj was expecting that, would have been an understatement.

Here she is almost begging to be with him and what was he about to do? Just push her away. He felt horrible, he felt like a monster. Yes, his intentions were good but what good has it done? He was going to make it all up to her.

As for Sandhya, she too was feeling horrible. She had compelled her patient Suraj-ji to take this harsh step. It was her fault although she did not exactly know why. Whatever it is, she would definitely make it up to him.

The impact with which Sandhya hugged her Suraj-ji was so strong that Suraj jerked forward due to the impact. He just used his free hand and carressed Sandhya's hair.

He then asked gently,"Sandhya, aap ko kis baat se darr lag raha hai?"

In response, all Sandhya did was sniffle into Suraj's chest and hug him tighter.

Suraj realised that Sandhya's shoulders were shaking slightly, that meant that she was crying. He needed her to let everything out to make her feel better. He tried to get Sandhya to face him by putting her hair behind her ear and calling her softly, but Sandhya stubbornly remained in that position with her face buried further into his chest. Finally Suraj gave up and let her cry into his chest. He just rubbed her back and her hair and whispered reassuring words to her.

Soon Sandhya stopped crying and went still in his arms. She was suddenly embarrassed and did not know how to face him after how she acted in the past half hour. She wanted him to know that she wanted him, she needed him and she wanted to live with him. Basically, she wanted to tell him that she has started loving him with all her heart. She needed him to know that.

She eased herself off his chest a little, just enough to be able to talk. But she still did not face him and her arm still remain around his waist like as if if she let go, he would go away from her.

Suraj felt Sandhya loosen her grip but didn't say anything.

Soon he heard Sandhya's muffled voice,"Suraj-ji?"

"Hmm?" respnded Suraj as he continued carressing her hair.

"Mujhe tumhe kho-khone ka darr hai, k-kyun ke main...main" stuttered Sandhya.

"Kyunke tum..." prompted Suraj softly.

"Main tum se boht pyar karti hun Suraj-ji, main tumhe chahti hun," blurted an emotional Sandhya as fresh tears brimmed into her eyes.

What Sandhya said next made Suraj feel extremely guilty and angry with himself.

"Aap please mujhe apne aap se durr na kare, Muumy Papa ke jaane ke baad aap aur ye ghar meri zindagi ban gaye, main ph-phir se a-apno ko k-khona nahi chahti" she pleaded again.

Suraj never felt so regretful in his life, his Sandhyaji looked like a little child who just had a nightmare and needed him to tell her everything would be fine. He decided that tonight itself he will clear all the misunderstandings and let her out of the dark.

He then started by saying,"Sandhya, main aap ko ek boht hi zaroori baat batana chahta hun."

Sandhya's heart skipped a beat in fear. Her mind whirled with the worst possible scenario. What if he had another girl? What if he really wanted her to leave? What if he hated her? And here she was throwing herself at him shamelessly. She started feeling worried.

Her arm loosened its grip from around him and Suraj noticed that, thus realising that she misunderstood what he was going to say and so without wasting another precious second, he continued carressing his Sandhyaji's hair slowly and narrated why he behaved with her in that manner.

"...bas issi waja se mera bartav aisa raha. Mujhe maaf kar den Sandh..." he couldn't finish as Sandhya had covered his mouth with her hand.

He looked down at his troubled wife and saw that there were tears in her huge beautiful eyes again as she stared up at him.

"Aap ne itna sab kuch kaise soch liya? Aap har waqt dusro ki khushi ke baare mein sochte ho. Meri khushi aap aur aap ke parivaar ke saath rehne mein hai, issi ghar mein," Sandhya said tearfully as she silently vowed that she would give her selfless husband every happiness that she could because he deserved it.

Suraj could say no more. He just gazed back at his wife. When his Sandhya did not look away after a few moments, Suraj gently held her chin with her index finger and thumb and brought his face closer to hers. When their lips met, Sandhya closed her eyes and her tears brimmed over.

This was the end of their misunderstanding.

So how was it? Do leave a comment!

Wonderful. Why didn't you continue ? I wish they had atleast shown us a kiss to lighten our moods. I cannot understand, can't people come close when they are sad and lean on each other for support and understanding. In the serial they seem to be so distant hiding things from each other. What kind of Diya aur Bati are they? I just cannot understand Sandhya. If we face a major dilemma we always talk it over with the people we are close to, to clear our perspectives. Why doesn't she talk to Ankita who is like a mother to her. I wish people like you join the CV team and give us precious romantic moments of SurYa.
