Both the film had some similarities ,but JTYJN looked real to some extent ...College kids looked their age unlike the school kids of SOTY 😆

SOTY was a full on Cabdy floss movie that I have a weakness for but JTYJN was a much more well made movie that I don't mind watching again and again... The story was real and close to heart...

If you put aside storyline and logic, then SOTY is a fun, light hearted movie that you can watch...

But if it comes to story, logic, connection, JTYJN was way better... I felt that JTYJN is a more relatable film than SOTY... SOTY was way too OTT and larger than life that it kinda failed to connect... But visually, it's a nice watch... JTYJN was more logical and connectable to what the youth is like today... Highschool students don't have Greek god like bodies with 8 packs, and they don't wear a face full of makeup with designer clothes and short short short clothing... Infact, teenagers nowadays r more casual and simple... And certainly they don't break into dance every two seconds... Youth are more career and academic oriented... For us, student of the year means best academic and school involvement , not a triathlon or sports champion ... The characters of SOTY looked nothing close to being students... They all look like they were in their mid twenties ... Also, it just lacked logic... When was the last time a student was announced student of the year based on athletic ability, let me see... NEVER... It's all based on academics which the film never had except in one tiny part... When was the last time someone became a lawyer or investment banker after 10 years when clearly their highschool was all about dance and sports... And lastly, when was the last time you saw only 2 staffs in the entire school, that too a huge one??? I don't reckon I have...,

SOTY is more illogical and chick flick type of movie... It's a good to watch movie if you don't think much...

I voted for JTYJN based on its approach but that doesn't mean I don't like SOTY...

oh my goodness =/

Well tbf I haven't seen SOTY (and won't =D)

but Jaane Tu remains one of my most favorite movies, ever.
That was more or less an accurate depiction of youth, in my opinion.
