What is the meaning of Amrit manthan. I really dont know what do u mean by manthan plz tell if you know.

The word 'Amrit' means nectar, and 'manthan' means churning:

By drinking nectar one becomes immortal. So say Puranas.This is what

i know the meaning of amrit. Wants to know only manthan. And amrit does not mean poison.

manthan means conversion of evil back to normal . In the show amrit is evil over the circumstances she will undergo a change just as\ ravana did at the end . and this undergoing a change is called manthan

Amrit Manthan = Amrit (nectar) + Manthan (churning)

The term comes from a legend where the Gods were losing mortal due to a curse and in order to remain mortal, they had to churn the ocean to retrieve the nectar at the bottom. The problem here was that to do this they needed help from Demons in churning. Secondly, while churning one of the first ingrediants to turn up was poison. Only after consuming it, they could continue churning for Amrit. Hence, Lord Shiva decided to drink the poison. He drank the poison but stored it in his throat. This turned the throat blue. Hence, Shiva is also called Neelkanth (Neel=blue & Kanth+throat). Once the poson was consumed, the devas were able to churn the amrit.

The basic gist of the term 'Amrit Manthan' in the serial is that to achieve the good you have to first face evil & defeat it.
